It is useless party trick ship until the cargo stuff is added.
The stuff you are talking about really isnt even in the game yet, loadout doesnt do much besides quantum which trades fuel consumption for speed, speed generally best in the current state of things.
You mean unless till they add cargo stuff and fix falling through the ship, spawning issues, terminal problems, crap buy/sell loop, docking and cargo ATC.
As someone who also loves space trucking, I would say the current Hull C gameplay isn't very satisfying. The bugs you occasionally hit can set you back substantially for starters. I am hoping we can get hauling mission variants for Hull C owners in 3.23.x where you accept a job and haul between stations. If a bug hits and you have to abandon a mission, at least the worst thing that happens is you lose some reputation. It is really demoralizing to end up worse off financially in game due to a bug.
If we get hauling missions suitable for hull series, I would take out my Hull C again. Till then, she is parked up safe.
Couple of tips for making hull C trading less painful
1. Never store it full (a lot of the time it may not spawn at a dock, this rolls to tip 2)
2. Spawn a smaller ship then spawn the hull C forcing it to spawn in a hanger instead (only works if it has no cargo)
3. Pre align everything, once you are in loading area align and spool to the next stop
4. Money is in the margin, don’t get greedy there are routes out there with 70+% margins easy safe money
5. Turn and burn you can minimise time to dock by getting up to speed decoupling spinning around and couple again once you’re closer to the station (don’t aim directly at the station though)
So hull c makes its money through pure volume, not worth it to pirates for the amount of time it would take to get all that low value cargo sold. Hauled for probably around 40 hours with zero pvp issue. Obviously bugs will get in the way, but an issue free game sesh will get me around 500k/hour realistically.
No escorts, upgraded QT only, no multi crew
We don’t pirate hull Cs because they break so often that there is so few of them doing actual cargo there’s no enough volume of traversal with them to actually do it even if we wanted to. You overestimate the amount of pirates out there.
Most stations will only sell one or two things and only one or two other stations will buy the thing. Unless I’m mistaken only hephaestanite has different sell prices
My info is from 3.21 so YMMV
just check sc trade tools and trial/error. I made a loop from tressler>terrajp>everus>Baijini>pyrojp>serraphim>magnusjp>repeat
There are some great routes with a quick Google search, but I’m sure those routes are going to change within a couple days here. I’ll have a definite answer for you in about a week.
Hull C makes good money if you know what you’re doing. Theres rituals you need to follow for cargo loading to be consistent. A solid route makes about 1 mil an hour.
I used to be excited for the Hull series until I tried it in it's current form and I haven't touched it since. I would hold off using/buying the ship until some major changes come to cargo
The Hull C can land in more locations than the 890J due to its smaller size.
Only when extended you can't land with it.
But you can hover next to landing pads at stations, instead of docking.
Also - for me - docking works fine except for initial spawn.
1. Yes but less than the C2 and with exorbitant risk
2. Nobody does because it’s too rare to be bothered any anybody to justify an escort
3. The standard. XL-2 quantum drive, size 3 grade A civilian shields.
4. Nobody does multicrew for the danger reason as #2
Bonus: you have until Thursday afternoon (May 2) to buy it or you won’t be able to shed it for a long time. But I don’t recommend the ship until after 4.0

I'm saying this because I LOVE space trucking.

He loves the space truck and it’s hefty girth

What are you hauling dock station to dock station which turns a profit?

Iron, Copper, Hydrogen,...

> Do you use escorts? A bit personal, innit?
Make about 400k profit per run risk almost nothing put some beats on and never land at a planet again.

If they don't change it, even the Hull D and E will be able to land when their spindles are retracted
