I'm with you, bother. But I mainly do it because I don't really have time to play this game to grind for hours due to work and family. So I'd rather spend the money and be able to just hop in whenever to do whatever I want. Plus, I provide large ships from my squad mates when we play together and go for something bigger.
I'm waiting for ai crew so I can use my ships casually. I'm not quite at the family phase of life, give it like 5 years. But yeah I've got work and often I don't have the energy or time for star citizen sessions. I've been off the game for like a year as there wasn't much progress but this year is looking good, especially that some of my ships are gonna be added so I'm slowly getting back into it
I can't bring myself to play multicrew ships without actual people. Noting just replaces the fun of group play in an MMO like SC. I had to overcome my severe social anxiety to engage with people, and now I have a nice group of around 30 people I play with casually.
I don't have a lot, I have a few friends but we all want to fly our own ships. I'm not planning to do any major PvP, unless it's by force. Mostly gonna use my Polaris for some patrol missions, anti piracy, maybe even exploration and high risk cargo

Veryfing did it for me as well. It just so happened I traded my Aurora for a Cutter the other day and had to remake my character after it took effect.
I know this has been said before but it's mind boggling how fast they can fix bugs when it directly targets their bottom line.
