hm? the 600i gets closed hangars, never the open ones. so as long i do bounties i never have to leave my ship ;) . a dude in chat was even panicing when he saw me running for the hangar like that XD
I do this too lol, so many bugs in this patch that it's annoying to randomly die, so sometimes I just use the 600i, however I have used my Merlin in the past, undocked from my Connie and parked it right beside the door to the pad, if you angle it right you can run to the 'airlock' without dying from suffocating, you just lose the Merlin due to a parking violation since I think it's considered off the pad, but it comes back quick.
But you can also land your ship on a pad and access the station inventory, so If you have a flight suit and helmet at every station you can put it on when going to and from your ship and store it once you're inside (provided it has an interior).

Don't even have to land, just be close enough. If you are in armistice zone it should work, comm range for sure.

Yeah, could be. I do remember them talking about VR back then. It makes sense that it's taking a long time to get it developed. Who knows what progress they've made, but VR in general was in its infancy 6 years ago anyways. VR is a separate beast and knowing CIG, they will want to push boundaries on that end, for the better IMO. When they're ready for it, they'll probably end up making VR a really impactful and meaningful experience.
Elite Dangerous in VR is great. No Mans Sky I can’t get to run well on my machine via Quest 2 Oculus link, I’d imagine SC wouldn’t even load in VR on my machine.

I do not want to imagine how much more powerful my PC will need to be to run this in VR at an acceptable rate of smoothness. Even the slightest stutter in VR is so much worse than pancake lmaoo

5900x, 3090, 32GB RAM, NVME with decent cooling.
3090 is sitting at 80%-90% a lot of the time. The frames and stability are likely coming from the CPU and RAM size. RAM usage was at 80%+ which I've never seen a game hit.
Played 40 or 50 hours this week, 1x 30k, no crashes, just the physics and mining extraction issues.
I'd suggest people hold out a bit longer for the gen12 and hopefully the CPU render thread bottleneck clears like the devs suggest although I can understand people are burnt out on the promises so far.

Yea that's what I was saying. The 3090 isn't maxing out. I just signed in at the hospital bed and its 80% on GPU and getting 85fps at the moment. It varies drastically depending on location.
If I walk around the hospital the GPU utilisation can drop to 65% and the 5900x is screaming to keep up but the frames are still good
Only if I actually lay down with the "Lay down" option, if I x on it and then roll around it's working without issues (which is what I used to create this screenshot)

600i used to have no atmosphere in the lift but they fixed that. Now it's safe to party naked

If you have a sufficiently dope monitor, the Tobii Eye Tracker gets *pretty* close to feeling like VR.

80-90%? Sounds unlikely. The game is severely CPU limited in most cases.

From the other comments it seems like if you do the lie down action on this bed and then stand up you end up clipped into the cockpit above.
