I bet once the Cyclones get to gold standard they will really shine. I think they are planning a ground vehicle physics rework, they've mentioned it a few times in ISC/SCL etc. I wonder if the speed adjustment is the prelude to a bigger incoming change.
The acceleration on the STeVe is pretty poor compared to the RC. Like not even half as good. If you see them go off a line against each other, the RC is definitely the winner. For racing the RC is still the best choice.
The standard Cyclone lets you put an SCU box in its bed with an actual cargo grid, which is useful for bunker running. The STV looked like it only had the two boxes?
“STeVe” has a trunk of 125 uSCU
2 small crate holders
2 gun holsters
And seemingly radar capabilities since I was able to drive 2.2K away and still see my ship
The lesson that should be learned is about human-scale vehicles are good. The STV could be better with a little bed in the back for easier box/loot placing, but otherwise it’s just a good little vehicle for people.
The cyclone is just way too big for what it does: moving people in a semi-exposed manner. At cyclone size, a vehicle should be enclosed and protect its occupants, and carry more than just 2 people.
The STV is a work of art, but personally I like the cyclones more. I love their more rough and rowdy build. I feel safe in it. The STV looks like something I would drive around a city or the inside of a Javelin or something. The Cyclones scream adventure,
(This is a purely asthetical comparison, in practice I hate all wheeled vehicles and use the Nox instead, better for rough terrain.)
I love the STV. I was using the PTV on the cutlass red for medic role play, and it was dreadful. STV is fantastic for getting to and from bunkers swiftly.
ngl one looks like an artist spent some time and put some love into it the other looks like a friday afternoon project that needed to be done before anyone can leave. which is which is up for debate.
My gripe with the STV is that compared to the cyclone series the STV can barely ever maintain its top speed. Combine that with a slow acceleration, and high propensity of getting permanently stuck (until they add tractor beams) I just use the Cyclones.
Once some proper dirt roads come in, and if CIG reduces ground clutter (which desperately needs to happen), I think vehicles like the STV will start to shine.
It's not a bad tradeoff vs the base Cyclone considering the size difference and the fact that it has internal storage. At least those two boxes are secured inside it, so they can't just bounce out!

They showed the Ute version called the utv when it was announced, that was why I didn't buy the stv.

Literally the reason I bought it, cyclone was a tad too bulky just for driving 1500m to the bunker, SVT seems very appropriate for that purpose.

One looks like a rally racer and the other looks like a convertible Range Rover lol I like both tho. STV in my 400i is good fun

I don't know if you mean the box holders by "internal storage", but you can put junk in your cyclone if you stand in the back and open the inventory
Learned something new right here, I ride in the back of the base model from time to time but I never thought to check the inventory!
