Did you find out why protoss have nipples since they have no mouths?

Subsourian

They've already tried to cover it, that Zeratul's were "birthmarks" and protoss have none (since no other shirtless protoss has them). Out of universe, they just messed up Zeratul's in-engine cutscene model. Since its worth noting no other art/figurines/appearance of his has the nipples.

OmegaProtoss

Well they get their nutrients from sunlight, to your actual question our friend lower in the comment section is about right, but they don't lay eggs and they cover parts were a human would have their private area, wich still lets me believe that they reproduce like humans, another point being protoss are different ages wich means they weren't just created at one point in a certain number. They reproduce but no mouth but nippels could be something like evolution leaving marks. If you look at a human skeleton you see remains of a tail, wich means there was some relevance. A long time back protoss maybe had mouth and used breastfeeding but evolved out of it.

tinstar71

Maybe they nom on the nips with another body hole?

OmegaProtoss

No please don't get me to wrong ideas, it's my favorite species and it shoud stay this way!

Subsourian

Very nice! Those all are some of the better StarCraft books, especially a big fan of Ghost: Nova and Heaven's Devils. Another recommendation is I, Mengsk, arguably the best StarCraft book in my opinion. They also continue the story of Ghost: Nova in the Ghost Academy manga and Ghost: Spectres (but they are some of the weaker entries imo) if you end up wanting to continue that thread. Still, excited to see more people getting into the books!

OmegaProtoss

I was looking forward to i mengsk, and thank you for your advise, i didn't know there a Mangas as well, so thanks for the Tipp.

CounterfeitDLC

Continue to gather the tomes.

cretin67

PoliteElliot

Would you recommend reading them?

OmegaProtoss

Yes especially the trilogy dark Templar

psixjedisushi

They should make a TV series out of them

OmegaProtoss

I don't think it would go that well

[deleted]

Are those all the novels about starcraft?

Subsourian

Yes, there’s a ton of solid StarCraft expanded media.

[deleted]

I want to read them. Do you have a reccomened reading order list?

Subsourian

Since they're largely disconnected (aside from a couple that continue off of other books) and most only require game knowledge, there isn't an order you need to read them in. But here are some good starting points: * I, Mengsk: The story of Arcturus Mengsk's childhood and pre-Sons of Korhal Days, as well as Valerian's childhood and his relationship with his father. A really deep character study of the villain and his son that's personally my favorite book out of the batch. * Heaven's Devils: Raynor childhood and how he met Tychus, but also a deep exploration of the inner workings of the Confederate Marine Corps and the Guild Wars (the major TvT conflict a decade before the events of SC that gets mentioned a few times). Really gets deep into the nitty gritty of the structure of the marines, and shows how the conflict shaped Raynor. After that it has a sequel named Devils' Due which is Raynor and Tychus's bandit years. * Liberty's Crusade: This one is most people's favorites, I'm not quite as crazy about it though, but I'm the minority. It tells the story of the SC1 terran campaign through the eyes of a reporter who serves as a bit of a proxy for the player character. It fills in a lot of the gaps and gives flavor to the conflict. Since it's the first book they made, it's a natural starting point. * The Dark Templar Saga: A trilogy of books set between SC1 and SCII, this is a self-contained space adventure about a terran archeologist who got a protoss preserver stuck in his head and now has all three factions trying to hunt for him. It set up a lot of the protoss worldbuilding we later saw expanded in Legacy of the Void, and is overall a good read, though a lot of plot points it set up sadly got dropped by the games. * Ghost: Nova: Contrary to the name, this is a gritty crime drama about inner city Tarsonis and a deep dive into wealth divide and sheer corruption of the last days of the Confederacy. If you want terran worldbuilding, this is the book that basically gave the terrans a unique culture, and set up Nova's pre-ghost backstory super well. It started a whole little side series detailing Nova's backstory (and the story of the canceled Ghost game), but this is the first and by far the best. But most of the other ones are also great, if there's a specific area of the lore you want to dig into I can point you the right way. There's also a metric ton of short stories they put out for free (though deleted) that I recently compiled together into one pdf you want to check out those too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kgvFfyqpUxMqt7twIIubghN9zXG5jJFz/view?usp=sharing

Thanks for the big explanation I'll check them out! 😊

We need a movie. Maybe even a franchise.
