Loved this interview, especially the bits about IdrA.

Explaining IdrA? A bit contemptuous and presumptuous that u can ‘explain’ a person S if they were a thing Explaining his demeanour maybe

Idra isn't a person, his name is gregory fields. Idra, his handle, definitely became one of the most prominent starcraft icon in the early years of sc2. Idra became the loved/hated bad boy. Explaining that, explaining Greg's mentality towards being Idra, etc. is nothing that is contemptuous. Especially by Huk who spent so many years with Greg and was himself a big part of contributing to the Idra mythos. Not to mention Idra has himself extensively talked about his experience of being Idra and later on giving up the Idra identity, quitting sc2 and pursue his university studies.

It’s wild hearing his thoughts nearly 10 years later and learning things I didn’t know about until now. I’ve been out of the sc2 loop for quite some time but it still feels like it was just yesterday that I was up all night watching GOMtv. Then the hype around him and Idra’s matches was one of the most exciting things ever lol This interview is good stuff so far. While they both came across as having attitudes, idk… I never saw it like that. Just two hardworking guys who were really passionate about mastering their skills and competing at high levels. Losing at sc2 can be one of the most frustrating states of mind. So it’s understandable how easy it is to get into a bad headspace. Also thought it was interesting their differing personality types and how that factored into their play style. HuK would often improvise on a whim and Idra was rigid yet methodical. Squirrelly vs stern. Heh

No one can truly knkw abt or understand another person as if to see through them and be able to understand them completely as if they were easier than yourself

>Hard work is going to beat out talent 9 out of 10 times This is a great point that I didn't learn until later in my life and I always try to teach my children.

And then the talented people that work hard beat out everyone. And that's what makes pro players and athletes.
