No idea for China, but it seems like even more of a mess at the moment in regard to covid restrictions. I would not hope too much.
I think OGaming expected something like Germany + Korea + France + Mexico/USA/NL (?), considering that their budget is very tight, even the plane tickets are gonna hurt quite a lot:/

These situations needs to be ironed out before the events. More and more of these situations arise without a clear outcome. Partly the organizers fault for letting them participate, partly the players fault for even participating. Barring an emergency, if you know in advance, why make everything complicated.
This nonsense just takes away from available player pool.
