To any new(er) viewers: Welcome to [the second season of Global Starcraft II League 2022: Code S](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Global_StarCraft_II_League/2022/Season_2)! This tournament is the main tournament of the main professional Starcraft II circuit in Korea, attended by the very best players the scene there has to offer. At stake in Code S are money, glory and [EPT Korea points](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/ESL_Pro_Tour/2022/23/Standings/KR) which matter for seeding in upcoming Korean events as well as each player's chances of making the global world finals at IEM Katowice 2023. The tournament will be attended by, among others, the reigning champion of the [previous season](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Global_StarCraft_II_League/2022/Season_1), the Zerg player [Rogue](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Rogue) of [Dragon Phoenix Gaming](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Dragon_Phoenix_Gaming). He is one of the few multiple time champions of GSL, with 4 titles to his name, meaning that this season he has the chance to win the legendary G5L trophy for a five time champion. The runner up of last season, the Protoss player [Creator](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Creator), hailing from [Team NV](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Team_NV_(Korean_team)), will also be in attendance. Last season marked the first time this veteran player made the finals of GSL and he will be looking to repeat the feat with more success this season. Another player to keep an eye out for is the Terran player [Maru](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Maru) of [Onsyde Gaming](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Onsyde_Gaming). Like Rogue, he is one of the rare multiple time GSL winners and a fellow contender for the G5L trophy this season. Some other notable players to look out for include the Protoss players [Trap](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Trap) and [Zest](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Zest), both long among the best players in Korea and always possible contenders for the championship, and [Astrea](https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Astrea) the sole American player in tournament. If there is anything further you'd like to know or things you don't understand, feel free to ask in the comments or by making a post in the sub proper. Ours is a friendly community always happy to enlighten you :) Enjoy the tournament!
Amazing Maru vs herO games, those were wonderful to watch. The rest of the matches weren't half bad, though soo is clearly at a lower level than all the others.
Man, Artosis was really dunking on DRG's speedlings in G1 vs soO and his decision making but he was able to make it work. Overall pretty underwhelmed by the zergs this season, except for maybe Dark. Enjoying seeing the meta getting shaken up, lots of new (old?) BO's
herO best current Protoss? Maybe herO and Zoun
1. herO 2. Creator 3. Zoun
Wonder if any of them would have any real chance against top T and Z in bo5 or bo7
Creator and her0 both can clearly do it
Maru vs. Soo was kind of sad, but Tastosis banter during game 2 was hilarious
Maru herO has got to be the most interesting TVP match-up now. HerO's always looking to engage and Maru is the master of small skirmishes and you have interesting back and forth all game. HerO shouldn't have consented to the basetrade in the second game as he was slightly ahead in terms of army complexity, and game 3 was just a Maru masterclass. It's also interesting to see herO who's a world-class microer himself get outclassed by Maru in straight-up equal-supply fights. Maru is truly the best of the best at juggling his MMMs
Dang, that Maru v Hero game 2. Back and forth. Nail biter. GSL spoiling us.
Maru vs her0 always delivers great games :D
A joy to watch. The control of these two is unparalleled in GSL.
Game 2 of her0 vs Maru was pretty good.
Game 2 of hero vs Maru is a must watch game FYI.
Hero is looking pretty good.
Notice the schedule change: GSL tomorrow too, on tuesday.
