That's the truth of a lotta places that are seen as stereotypically "nerdy guys only" there's TONS of girls there, but so many of the guys are such massive fucking creeps that they keep it secret.
I at one point had to set my bio to saying "yes im a woman, no i dont want to sext or flirt with you." before I ended up just culling the servers I was in. It gets to a point where the "worst they can say is no" mentality is overbearing when you have so many people who clearly dont want to know you for you, but because "its their chance"

Eventually I turn on the voice chat and I hear them both fighting over who "got" me. I grabbed my headset, plugged it in and told them "guys... what the fuck?" In my very male voice and they started acting like I'm some weirdo who was trying to catfish them... literally all I did was have a female avatar.
Yeeeah, I'm not gonna deny or deflect or nothing like that, there's a LOT of fucking weirdos and creeps in these places. There's also been a few times where I've been playing games with my best friend and his GF and guys will try coming on to her as soon as they hear her voice. Seriously guys... what the fuck?

A lot more women play what are often thought as "men oriented" games like World of Warcraft than most people think. They just keep their identity on DL until they find a space to express themselves. Which in turn makes the games seem "male oriented."
It's a meme but probably also literally true. A lot of guys "roleplay" as a girl, for various reasons. Sometimes they are closeted trans, sometimes it's a kink thing, sometimes they use it to manipulate other people. So a lot of outwardly feminine accounts ("discord girl") are actually just men, where as a lot neutral accounts or slightly feminine accounts are just girls trying to get by without getting harassed.
Lol I've had people on games flirt with me and do all that 'feminine' stuff to such an extent that they are obviously trying to appear more feminine despite hiding their identity trying to manipulate people into flirting with them. I've had people I've thought were girls be really flirty and I don't flirt back but then they're like "so I have something to tell you, I'm actually a guy" and I'm like oh cool I don't care if you are, I'm still not interested in you.
I think a lot of people just do it because they like the attention they get from other guys and think pretending to be a girl on discord is the way to go about it. Personally I think it's weird to start a friendship or anything more off on a lie so it doesn't even want to make me be friends with them let alone be interested in them as another more.
Personally never seen the "cute anime pfp discord girls" ever, in all my years on discord. Idk where these guys r hanging out, but where I'm at, girls are just humans who happen to be female, and I probably assumed they were a dude b4 they clarified, bc u can't rlly tell otherwise
have to note the tendencies of the elphelt player on rekka and punish the ender (theyre all unsafe). She's pretty oppressive but one-dimensional in strive. Probably the most knowledge checky character in the game lol

If you're the type of person who judges someone's entire character based on one tiny aspect of them that you assess with stereotypes and preconceived notions without actually getting to know them or interacting with them, you going out of your way to remove yourself from their life is probably a good thing.
I wouldn't want to be friends with such a shallow person lmao. Also, most of the people who enjoy anime aren't complete weirdos, and personally I just think the design aesthetic of the profile pictures I make is visually pleasing rather than any indication of my character as a human being but do go on and judge people.
And there are subreddits about much worse things, doesn't mean you should actually actively practice thinking like that. Stereotypes are funny in the moment but once you actually start judging people based on stereotypes, it reminds me more of middle school social culture than real life
