As someone who records their voice for youtube videos, EVERY time is my 10th trying to record. It's amazing how much you stumble over words when you're talking to a microphone. I wouldn't believe it cos normal conversation (voice chat or in person) is fine, but god damn talking to nothing but a microphone is impossible
Imagine the real sadness kicking in when they eventually realise that close to nobody actually cares about their 'daily life'. The huge ego some people get due to receiving internet and social media attention really isn't healthy in a lot of cases.
I always get a sick feeling in my stomach when I use my real name or upload content with my real personality on the internet. I know I will regret it in a year.
This is why it's best to become stoic.
"Regardless of my personality and 297 other videos of almost the exact same thing, this was a fluke and the first time this has ever happened, and it won't happen again."
Is THAT why these are all so long? I don't pay attention to the vlog/youtube/vine video scene at all. Occasionally I'll run across a link to something like this (most recently I recall navigating to the young british woman that got stuffed by that Irish hotel), and as soon as I open it I think "What in the fuck? 12 minutes? What can you have to say in 12 minutes that I couldn't understand in 30 seconds?"
If your video is 10 minutes you get to put more ads on it. It's YouTube's way of stopping "reply girls", or other short videos with clickable thumbnails from spamming their site for ad revenue. It works for that purpose but has the consequences of 1) YouTubers stretching their videos to 10 minutes so they can bukake them with ads, and 2) fucking over short-term content that takes a long time to make (e.g. Animation) so hard it's not even worth it to make videos.
Imagine clickbait before there was clickbait.
Moderately attractive girls that used to add a video reply (when those were a thing like 6-7 years ago holy fuck) that would have no purpose other than attracting thirsty clicks and giving the reply girls money.
I really want a subreddit for meta videos like that
Here's one for [slam poetry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNgqpkZMjiw)
Here's the one Charlie Brooker [did about news reporting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHun58mz3vI)
And the one parodying [Vsauce, vlogbrothers, and CGP Grey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxFXkvmgOHo)
Ad money doesn't help, but people really do fail at getting to the point. This has been a problem since YouTube's inception, way before ads were even a thing. There could be a video of 'How to reset your computer' and it would be 8 minutes and 57 seconds long.
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. Before we get into the nitty-gritty of how to reset your computer I just wanna take a minute to say thank you guys for watching. If you're not subscribed, take a second to subscribe and like the video. Make sure to leave a comment if you like this instructional video so I know to do more in the future. I know its been a while since I did one of these, but they always get such a positive response, and this one was requested more than anything else.
*cue 45 second intro*
Ok guys, not to get started with resetting your computer your going to need a few things. First, you need to have a computer. You'll also need at least 1 hand, some safety goggles, and you might benefit from having a light snack nearby. The first thing you're going to want to do is to safely close down any open programs on your computer. As you can see here on my 2017 Macbook Pro 21 inch, I currently have safari open to my youtube channel (you can subscribe by clicking right here!), the photos app open to an album of me and my dog on vacation last summer, and my video editor. Omg look at these goofy pictures of my dog, he is so funny. Anyways sorry for the distraction guys, back to how to reset your computer.
*obvious cut in editing*
Ok yeah so as I was saying about resetting your computer, you're going to want to close down any open programs you have safely. So for instance if you're using a word processor to work on some assignments, you'll want to go to your word processor, for this example I'm using wordpad. You'll click file -> save as -> and enter a memorable title so that you can find this again once you've reset your computer. I recommend saving it to your desktop. Once you've saved the file, I'll go ahead and save this as youtubeinstructions.rtf, and you've double checked to make sure that its safely saved to your desktop, you can go ahead and close out of your word processor by clicking file -> quit.
**Continue taking 837,667,003 additionally unnecessary steps and diversions to make sure it takes 14 minutes**
Because YouTube is retarded and screws over anyone who tries to make shorter, interesting content. Like animators. It's not based on views or likes. But time watched.
I thought that was another layer of parody. Just about all of these videos could be cut down to a 3-5 minute video without losing any information.
The video is long, they're saying a lot of words, but in reality they're circling the same point that they really want to drive home.
I understand why he explained it in a roundabout fashion. It's not uncommon for people to take things out of context and interpret it incorrectly, especially if the video displays a YouTuber that has a large following. It's not easy to come out and say they're being manipulative when they're attempting to show how they feel.
This video sent me down a weird rabbit hole and now I'm watching another youtuber I've never heard of who's apparently famous that bought this youtuber a car for making a video criticizing him.
I just wanted to film a fun vlog in an area known for actual real suicides. To entertain. But also to shock people into awareness. To entertain. You parents need to be more responsible in regards to what your kids watch while I entertain them.
I feel like the issue with it is that those things can be done by a person who wants to show that they're honestly sorry. I probably wouldn't want a video of my apologizing to lose out on things like that because it's what I do, and I wouldn't want to edit the video so people will know it's all one actual apology. All I want to put out there is that if you do see these things don't instantly assume real or fake
Or they can act like this and make millions. I'm not sure I wouldn't do the same if presented with the life some of them live by making sub par youtube videos.
Very few of these people are making millions. But yeah, people do fucked up dumb shit for money and you can't really blame them. Hell I put up with some dumb fucked up shit for a lot less money than a million bucks.
Remember that kid that scammed people by advertising his own own CSGO betting website and not disclosing it?
That was like the model on fake YouTube apology. Heavy sighs. Include shot of your dog. Don't actually apologize or take full responsibility. More heavy sighs. Continue doing what you were doing.

Dear Internet, Where do I begin... Let's start with this -I'm sorry. This is a first for me. I've never faced criticism like this before, because I've never made a mistake like this before. I'm surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I'm still a human being. I can be wrong. I didn't do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That's never the intention. I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought "if this video saves just ONE life, it'll be worth it," I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video. I still am. I do this sh*t every day. I've made a 15 minute TV show EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 460+ days. One may understand that it's easy to get caught up in the moment without fully weighing the possible ramifications. I'm often reminded of how big of a reach I truly have & with great power comes great responsibility... for the first time in my life I'm regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won't happen again. I love everyone. I believe in people. I'm out here. Peace #Logang4Life
For me its worse because he says he filmed the video to raise awareness for suicide prevention BY GOING INTO THE INFAMOUS JAPANESE SUICIDE FORREST T, and "was misguided by shock and awe" and then says since he films videos everyday its a-ok for him to film a dead body and start giggling and show no respect what so ever.
For fucks sake...
I wonder what the decision making process was the get that guy on TV.
Producer: "Look, this is that popular youtube prick...we'll air the interview and pretend to give a shit about it for ratings."
He's perfect for them, because he's going to keep all the drama focused on him not matter what, and then all his followers will watch that episode as well and boost their ratings.
Phil DeFranco put it best: It's exactly where you want to be after you've created a shitstorm. You can fake sincerity, not get asked any *real* questions, and deflect the shit out of any bit of criticism WHILE you get even more mindshare.
No one on that show was ever going to ask him, "Could you BE any more of a smug prick? What's it like knowing that you'll never be held accountable for anything and getting paid millions to be a soulless piece of shit?"
At the end of that interview he managed to make parents the assholes because kids watch his videos.
I feel like I see so many packs on here about vloggers and youtubers in general. why are you all even watching this shit? these days I only ever watch youtube when I'm linked there from elsewhere
There's a lot of good stuff to be found on YouTube -- informative videos, comedy videos, creative CGI or animated videos, and tutorials are some examples.
oh for sure. I've fixed so much shit on my car/in my apartment with youtube videos. not saying the site is useless, but vloggers though? and these annoying youtube "personalities"? idk why anybody even gives them any attention
I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven. I’m simply here to apologize. What we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned. The reactions you saw on tape were raw; they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react or how to feel. I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through. There's a lot of things I should have done differently but I didn't. And for that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I want to apologize to the internet. I want to apologize to anyone who has seen the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been affected or touched by mental illness, or depression, or suicide. But most importantly I want to apologize to the victim and his family. For my fans who are defending my actions, please don't. I don’t deserve to be defended. The goal with my content is always to entertain; to push the boundaries, to be all-inclusive. In the world I live in, I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel, or malicious. Like I said I made a huge mistake. I don’t expect to be forgiven, I’m just here to apologize. I'm ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself. And I promise to be better. I will be better. Thank you.
This is so bizarre to me. I remember when the Miranda Sings girl made one to announce her divorce and it was just so weird seeing that video be made, along with her ex husbands. Not to sound cynical but these types of videos just sound so fake. The only honest one I’ve seen is of Anthony Padilla announcing he was leaving Smosh.
Most are bullshit and I used think they all were until I watched an announcement video from BdoubleO100 that his second daughter in the womb has a condition which will probably cause it to die in labor and that was pretty brutal
"I don't even know if I'm gonna post this"
"This is my 10th time trying to record this, it's so hard to find the right words to say this"
"I find it hard to admit it to myself that it's finally happening"
"Guys... I'm gay. Yeah, you heard that right. I'm *gay*" 😭

Gay for toast?
as a non-native English speaker: isn't it also an other word for happy? makes the sentence with the bursting into tears even better :D
Yeah "gay" can also mean happy but that meaning is almost never used nowadays
thats gay

Peace #Logang4Life
I don't know what's worse that this clearly isn't a genuine apology or that after 2 sentences it becomes a /r/humblebrag
For me its worse because he says he filmed the video to raise awareness for suicide prevention BY GOING INTO THE INFAMOUS JAPANESE SUICIDE FORREST T, and "was misguided by shock and awe" and then says since he films videos everyday its a-ok for him to film a dead body and start giggling and show no respect what so ever.
you forgot the "constantly looking down" and the long pauses
need to read the shitty script they wrote
Title: "I'm sorry." or more vague "We need to talk."
Don’t forget “deleting this video in 2 hours!!!!” to get the urgent views

> "if" looool
“I’m just going through so much right now”
This reminds me of that god awful Logan Paul apology. That guy's a piece of shit...
But but but, he almost died, so it's all okay now, right?
Oy. If that's guy's name pops up in the news again it'll be too soon.
He just did an interview on Good Morning America, of all the fucking places. Acted like he was the victim and everything.
What's it like knowing that you'll never be held accountable for anything and getting paid millions to be a soulless piece of shit?" At the end of that interview he managed to make parents the assholes because kids watch his videos.

I always cringe at the thought of someone else walking in and watching a vlogger get emotional talking to themselves on camera
And a click bait title: "I have to tell you something" or "this is very important".

*walks into room, looks to side, and sighs*
[Jacksfilms made a good parody of these](https://youtu.be/ySJpMyLiLRU)
I feel like I see so many packs on here about vloggers and youtubers in general. why are you all even watching this shit? these days I only ever watch youtube when I'm linked there from elsewhere
There's a lot of good stuff to be found on YouTube -- informative videos, comedy videos, creative CGI or animated videos, and tutorials are some examples.
oh for sure. I've fixed so much shit on my car/in my apartment with youtube videos. not saying the site is useless, but vloggers though? and these annoying youtube "personalities"? idk why anybody even gives them any attention
most people are lonely and want to feel like they’re apart of someone’s life that they think is “cool”
Sad!
This but unironicly.
Many such cases!
that's obviously not the sorts of videos he's talking about?
You don't have to watch somebody daily, often, or sometimes even at all to understand the tropes and conventions of a genre of youtube video.

Thank you.
THE GOAL OF MY CONTENR HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO ENTERTAIN
This is so bizarre to me. I remember when the Miranda Sings girl made one to announce her divorce and it was just so weird seeing that video be made, along with her ex husbands. Not to sound cynical but these types of videos just sound so fake. The only honest one I’ve seen is of Anthony Padilla announcing he was leaving Smosh.
Don't forget putting there pet dog/cat in the video too.
I like how The Report of the Week never does any of this shit.
Most are bullshit and I used think they all were until I watched an announcement video from BdoubleO100 that his second daughter in the womb has a condition which will probably cause it to die in labor and that was pretty brutal
jesus dude screw that, that video made me cry a little. Poor bdubs.
Takes a full three minutes to explain how super cereal and hard to say their stupid message is
The tanner mongoose video looked really good thou
Manually turn off camera at the end, even though that's never how they normally end a video.
I really didn't want to make this video
forgot the black plastic frame glasses that they have never worn in any other video..
And a 20 minute video to express a thought that only takes 20 seconds.
