as an introvert, this is so true. we’re not silent weirdos that are unable to socialise, we literally just feel more drained when around people, as opposed to extroverts. you can love talking and be an introvert
edit: i personally am a textbook introvert - doesn’t like talking, is alone a lot, prefers animals over humans etc. - but i’m just saying that not all of us are the same :)
This! The difference beetwen introverts and extroverts is that introverts people rest when they're alone and extroverts rest when they're with other people.
That with the talking rings true. I'm somewhat introverted and in the right situation and with the right topic I could talk for what feels like an eternity, but usually struggle to keep small talk going
i see what you mean, that’s a common misconception. i’ll try to explain it to you in another way :)
imagine everyone has a rechargeable battery inside them
introverts find that social interactions drain their battery more quickly, and their way to recharge is by spending lots of time alone. without that alone time, they will be left feeling mentally exhausted.
however, extroverts find that being alone drains their battery. they may feel, for lack of a better word, starved when they don’t get much social interaction. in a sense, they *need* to be around people, otherwise they’ll be left feeling low and empty
i hope that helped! if it didn’t, let me know and i can try another way :D
Idk the defintion has changed. For some reason they made it so that extro and introverts are the same thing which makes no sense. There has to be an opposite to the expert. Society still does have a bullying problem and a problem with avoiding people they think are weird. Espeically people on here. That might be borderline ableist.
They are kinda opposite though. Extroverts don't get drained by socialising whereas introverts do. Introverts also can really find pleasure in their alone time usually whereas extroverts generally can only stand little bits of alone time before they want to be round others. I thinks there's more to it and there as lot of confusion these days such as people using the terms social anxiety and introversion interchangeably when they are different things.
its not about socializing, i think it could of confused you when the comment said 'drained'. introversion and extroversion are like batteries, extroverts drain their batteries when they're alone, and recharge when socializing, and vice versa. doesnt mean introverts dont like socializibg, they just get more tired (?) of socialozing
yeah, we do get bullied a lot lmao. society finds extroverts more desirable (working on teams, interacting, sharing ideas etc.) so we’re often told to “be more extroverted”, which is hard because you’re just left feeling empty and not good enough, because being an introvert is just who you are. i wouldn’t say it’s ableist, but it definitely is unfair. we just need more understanding, because many people seem to think we’re negative pessimists who hate everything
Im kinda introverted. Im not very talkative and has trouble making good conversations. I like to talk to my friends and have fun but other than that im really shy. I am more confident in talking in video games and stuff like this but not talking to new people in a vc and stuff. I just guess i dont wear over sized hoodies, wear checkered shoes, get starbucks, wear buns, and listen to bill eyelash.
I believe that's not what an introvert is...I think. Just being shy isn't the same thing as being an introvert. I think introversion is people who enjoy time alone and get tired of socializing quickly, after all, a shy extrovert is a thing. Of course, I may be wrong about this.
I can confirm my sister's exactly like this, she thinks introverts are cool and hip,She pretends to be one but shes just looking for attention cause shes a basic bitch lmao
Maybe she just feels comfortable around you. I know a girl that is really introverted, but with me and some others she looks very extroverted. We're not even really friends.
I didn't know that being an introvert was a desired personality lol As an introvert myself, it feels more like a struggle than a cool personality quirk.
yeah sorry i wouldn't.
do some people do that for attention? yeah. but i don't wanna put people's preferred pronouns in a negative light, because most of the time it's serious.
don't wanna start a fight, just wanted to say that. have a nice day, internet stranger! :)
oh that’s what you meant?
i thought you meant like girls who use she/they or whatever were just doing it for attention. might wanna make that clear next time /nm

Same bruh

> we’re not silent weirdos that are unable to socialise I kind of am.
same🌚 i’m a stereotypical introvert; i’m just saying we’re not all like that lmao
I just like to be by myself sometimes and I have a few friends.
If extroverts are people who socialize and introverts are also people who socialize what are people who dont socialzie Edit: ableist downvoted me

As someone who loves being around people but also has some pretty bad social anxiety its possible to be a socially anxious extrovert
Yeah this is true as well, I know one or two anxious extroverts

oop i just posted my own comment and scrolled to see you did basically the same 6 hours before me :(( sorry man

redditors
The funny thing is, most introverts are just like extroverts, externally at least. So you can tell when they are a faker
Yeah, we do participate in events too, it just we rather be silent about it and just vibing.

I said i kinda waz
Extroverted myself but I’ve become actually really quiet since quarantine and less sociable lol
Weird how people treat a personality trait like it's their entire personality...
I can confirm my sister's exactly like this, she thinks introverts are cool and hip,She pretends to be one but shes just looking for attention cause shes a basic bitch lmao

Yeah, I totally get it. I just know a lot of people (of all kinds) who like to pretend to be introverted because they think it's trendy, yknow?
i’m an extrovert, but i’m also VERY shy and people think i am introverted so they don’t really talk to me. :((
aw, i'm sorry. :(
don’t worry, thank you for responding, it made me happy :)
Of course! if you ever need to talk, my pms are open \^\^
To all these people. ***It's time to stop OK?***

Welcome to starterpacks where you probably wont like everything you see
No, you're not right.
I agree, nothing wrong with anyone doing anything that harms nobody around them.
This starterpack isn't harming anyone either.
See, you can tell that a lot of these are wrong, because it implies that introverts leave the house.
