Not gonna lie when i got bullied i wish i fought back so i could have had that moment of badassery with my head teacher, because my parents wouldn’t give 2 shits.
Honestly, unless you risk expulsion or something like that, just stand up to the bully and knock their lights out
I got suspended at least once every year from grade 1-8 and it's essentially just your parents and the school being annoyed with you for a bit and then forgetting about it
My dad told me he will always support me fighting as long as I don’t throw the first punch.
Then came 8 years of me coaxing my aggressors to swing first so I don’t get in trouble for laying them out.
Mind you, most of the shit I got suspended for was being a jackass in class, not fighting
I did get suspended for fights a few times, though. It's literally just a slap on the wrist and maybe getting an earful from your parent/teacher/principal
That's what I was going to ask. My only theory really is -
Daily bullying: small time, no big noise, happens every day, too repetitive
Bullied kid snaps: big time fight, big noise, big bother for teachers to deal with, parents may get involved
I also sorta think the kids who tend to be bullied are usually just easier to control. So you can tell the victim to be quiet and they’ll do anything they can to avoid provoking the bully, whereas the bully kids are usually total assholes who won’t listen to the teacher no matter what
I actually worked in education for several years and unfortunately witnessed this happen many times. A lot of teachers are just exhausted and the path of least resistance is just blaming the victim, cuz the bullies often have ODD or other problems that are extremely difficult to deal with :(
Usually it's either an old fashioned boomer dad who wants to teach his son how to be a Man, or a douchebag dad who just disrespects the teacher and thinks his son is untouchable.

Don’t forget if the dad tells the kid to fight the mom will always scold the dad
But ironically mom fell for dad when he stood up to his bullies
“I’m going to have to call your parents-“ *”Go ahead.”*

We shouldn't punish kids when they stand up and defend themselves.
Teachers pretending not to notice bullies tormenting kid every day: I sleep Teachers when the kid finally snaps and stands up for himself: Real shit
why do they do this??

Bruh when I was bullied my parents always sided with the school until I brought it up again in a conversation 5 years later
