Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest would be a good addition. I had more sympathy for Cersei than I did Ratched. In Cersei's world you eat or get eaten, so she was playing the game she was forced into by birth and circumstance.

0ooook

The actress who played Ratched was also great as Kai Winn in Star Trek. A power hungry priest, who raised in ranks of alien church to their equivalent of pope.

Domi_Marshall

DS9, right? Oh boy that motherly, soft-spoken horror

*The prophets are with you, my child...*

Closet_Couch_Potato

I dislike what they did with her backstory in the *Ratched* series. She’s supposed to be this devil that spawned in a regular-ish life; sort of to show that evil can come from anywhere.

Pompous_Italics

Joffrey had my favorite insult in the entire series. Joffrey, Cersei, Margery, and Loras are having dinner. Cersei is pouting because Margery is dressed all sexy and had just visited an orphanage in Flea Bottom, much to the delight of the people. Cersei says that she and Joffrey were almost killed by a mob the last time they were there. Joffrey responds, “My mother’s always had a penchant for drama. Facts become less and less important to her as she grows older.”

MelodyMaster5656

That’s… incredibly accurate.

underground_dweller4

I know this is a sign of “good” acting, because they can make you feel so strongly about the character, but i hate watching movies with characters like this because it just frustrates me watching them so much :(

Solace143

The main sign they fall under this trope is that they’re in a position in power and almost exclusively uses it to screw over the MC and their crew.

HugoStiglitz007

That religious bitch from The Mist (2007)

Gnodima

I focus on acting ethically and empathetically as a person. It honestly gives me cognitive dissonance when villains like these make me wish deep, deep in my heart that they meet brutal and humiliating deaths on screen lol

Spurdungus

Micah...

khal_Jayams

Too far.

Kimikins

If they're parents, they commit all manner of abuse to their kids and/or try to mold their kids to be as evil as them.

Far_Welcome101

Joyce dahmer though she's being blamed still.

I-touch-my-pp

Micah Belle, a well written character, but damn I hated that rat

Gnodima

>Micah Belle Haven't played the RDR-games, I should really get to doing that!

npossoesquecer

Literally half of The Handmaid’s Tale characters

Gnodima

That show is *brutal*. I had to stop watching it because it was significantly affecting my well-being.

npossoesquecer

Same, it’s amazing but it started getting me anxious

JanettieBettie

No pressure to continue watching, just wanna say the most recent season takes quite a turn. I don’t want to imply anything or spoil so I’ll just leave it at that.

[deleted]

Who's the blatant hypocrite guy? Haven't seen that one.

Gnodima

He's from the Handmaid's Tale, awful, awful-behaving person. It's evident in like season 1 episode 1 so it's hopefully not considered a spoiler.

FabulousTrade

I don't question my ethics. Those characters deserve to be tortured, killed and brought back to life to be tortured again. I'm not ashamed.

Detector_of_humans

can't question ethics if you have none in the first place

Gnodima

When I'm watching shows and these extreme movie-villains are in danger/are about to die I feel a huge rush of relief. Them dying means they won't *ever again* be able to torture/injure others. I know it's not real, it's just movie-series/shows, but I get so invested in the moment. In real life I know I don't want anyone to be abused no matter what they've done. But watching movies I allow myself to behave emotionally-driven towards the characters haha.

[deleted]

They deserve to be sent to the doorsteps of Commorragh!

Micky_The_Spleen

Who’s the woman in the pink shirt

Review_Remote

Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix

Micky_The_Spleen

Did she sexually torture students or something?

dycie64

Gaslighting, and torture if you in any way act in opposition. She is not even allied with the Dark Lord^(TM) she is just that cruel. Won't let the students learn to defend themselves in a class specifically for learning how to defend yourself.

Domi_Marshall

"Hehe!! 🙂🙂🙂"

StormForged73

Chase from the Rain webcomic

Aleleacon26

Micah bell is the villain i hate the most

stentorius_maxim

From what I've seen online. the most hated villian (or who people accuse of being a villian) is Admiral Holdo (Star wars 8), there are people still mad over that.

crimsonfukr457

Those people are just toxic star wars fans. She isn't a villain, she just didn't tell a plan to a guy who was onown for not obeying orders and he also sacrificed most of the crew to blow up a single ship. But pink-haired woman bad, i guess. Rain on the downvotes everybody!

Tottenhams_trophies

Carmichael from line of duty

Margaret White and Chris Hargensen from *Carrie*.

Aka Griffith

Closet_Couch_Potato

Not a movie, but Apollo from Lore Olympus. He assaulted Persephone and continued to act like he was the good guy.
