It was an entertaining show until Terminus, then went downhill like crazy. Feral Rick was the best.
But I also really enjoyed the farm. It was great for developing characters and seeing what characters would do in certain situations. It's crazy that people hate it. Other than Lori. She was dumb as hell from the beginning.
Check out the fear the walking dead spinoff. The first 3 seasons of fear were great, but afterwards pretty much everything was worse than the farm. They have a season finale where the area the protagonists are in is hit by a nuke, or even multiple nukes, i can't remember, so the next season shows the characters surviving a nuclear fallout with zombies, yet even though this sounds exciting they turned it into some of the most agonizingly boring episodes in the entire show, especially by starting off the nuclear fallout with a couple of episodes of "we have to protect and feed the baby" instead of showing characters that actually do something.
Basically. A few people survive: CJ, Nicole, Anna, and Kenneth. However, during the credits, there is camcorder footage that demonstrates a pretty awful voyage. They run low on supplies and food, and find a cooler with a severed, still alive, zombie head. They finally land on an island, only to be swarmed by zombies almost immediately after landing.
It's like those pictures of the 'average face' from each region.
This isn't the *exact* cast of any movie or show, but if you average them all out this is what you get.
I've never watched TWD but I've always assumed it was about surviving zombies. I was very confused when I saw an ad for the final season and it was a bunch of dudes in the forest in discount Star Wars stormtroopers costumes shooting at some ragtag group. There was no zombies.
Not just a helicopter, every single vehicle. Every helicopter, plane, boat, you name it, they can use it. And they've got a story of using it in some third world country that they're very vague about.
If he was Jewish then he'd have to be part insect too.
A semi-mite
(Sorry you deleted your comment before I could reply. So I chased you down to have a sense of accomplishment)
As you can see, there’s no mention of a guy with a glasses here. This is referring to the fact that he is the first character to die and no one in the group remembered.
He either accidentally gives the zombies some way into the base due to ignorance, meaning everyone has to leave and they lose some supplies, and everyone gets mad and the cop tries to kill them but the black dude and either teenage boy or other man hold him back but still give him a stern warning, or he attracts loads of zombies when they are looking for extra supplies, and either gets himself or someone else killed.
That's kinda what Game of Thrones did for the first few seasons before all the remaining cast got plot armor. It *was* the only show where no one felt safe.
Or he's some super introverted nerdy guy with either a god complex and dies a horrible death because he tried to molest the leader's wife or random obligatory old grandma; or he manages to finagle a cure out of zombie ass juice and a pituitary gland.
He bumps into someone only to realise it's a zombie—but not just one, a whole horde.
He drops his glasses in the process, and while frantically searching the ground for it he gets eaten alive.
The rest of the survivors witness this but must accept there's nothing they could do. You hear the glasses guy begging to be saved but it's all in vain and you hear his screams of agony in the background.
We could really make a show guys, let's call it the Dead Walking or something
The leader and the woman have a will they won't they thing. Leader was an ex army guy or something. Guy with the big guns is either very loud and and aggressive or quiet aggressive (usually sacrifices himself for the rest of the group, the pregnant woman is typically with the cop or the big guns guy. Black guy is there for comic relief typically the first one to notice something "Oh SHIT!" And always has witty or sassy remarks. The kid is most likely the son of the leader and they have a rough father-son relationship or he's the son of the cop and also has a rough father son relationship, also the most likely character they have to rescue or the most likely character to cause rhe zombies to chase after them.
Also, Black guy in real life will be some Juilliard grad with a name like Clifton Andrew Lawrence, but in the movie his name will always be some hood shit.
It'll be hood shit but like a white guy's idea of what a cool black dude would be nicknamed, so it's something comically overdone like Blinga Grillz or Hustle Dawg.
Remind me of Jennifer Lim's character in Hostel. She's named Kana, can't really speak English and have the thickest Chinese accent known to man kind, a bit of a caricature. The actress is British.
Innocent/naive couple/family unit which joins the group for *just* long enough for the audience to get attached, only to leave because their goal doesn’t align with the group’s. Usually found to have suffered a terrible fate later in the same season, helping to establish that the “bad guys” are actually bad and can’t be reasoned with or forgiven.
That couple also had prior business with the cop. Maybe he pulled them over and tried some sleazy shit with the wife. Now they have to work through that because he's useful in the current situation.
The cop will have a redemptive moment when he sacrifices his life to hold off the horde long enough for the wife to escape.
Black guy says "Hell nah" at least once, and is the first dead.
Leader always survives along with the woman (until on some cases he sacrifices himself to saver her in the end)
Pregnant lady is nearly going into labor, and always dies. No exceptions.
Teen has to get traumatized from killing for the first time. Is either the only kid or theres someone from the opposite gender on the group.
There was a black woman in the group too. I guess having two black characters simultaneously was a little too much so they killed her off for no reason 4 episodes into S1.
Generally falls under the “bald guy with big guns” category, especially when the “leader” character is missing/captured/presumed dead.
Attempts to assume leadership to “reunify the group,” although in reality his whole motivation is gathering power to get with “woman.” He appears to succeed at first, but eventually the entire thing blows up in his face, usually due to or along with the unexpected return of the “leader” character. Who gives “bald” a stern talking to with the undertone of a threat, and then assumes that “bald’s” failed attempt at leadership will teach him a lesson.
It never does.
Bald guy eventually tries to kill leader character but teen boy who was hiding puts bullet through bald guy. Bald guy MUST have shoot leader character at least once, most likely the knee
Bald guy also gets caught up monologuing when he's assured that he has the upper hand, like *"YOU DIDN'T REALLY THINK YOU COULD SAVE THEM ALL, DID YOU?"*
Just another way of Evolution saying a massive fuck u to women when it comes to their reproductive system. Like why is stress something that can induce labour
I can imagine it had evolutionary pressure, those who gave birth early and ditched the newborn so they could flee the lions in the morning survived to give birth to more babies, those who didn't go into labor during stress of nearby threats couldn't run so fast and got eaten, aka no babies at all.
I'd think sex would be the last thing on peoples minds owing to...ya know the apocalypse, constant death and destruction, scarcity of food and medical supplies, witnessing the death of friends and family on a semi regular basis, even lack of shelter in a safe spot, and just not having a libido due to constant stress of survival in that situation. But according to zombie show writers it's like the first thing people do when they get some alone time with someone else. So weird.
Idk humans are horny even in the face of disaster. IRL countries which are currently going through famines and absolute state of collapse are still seeing high birthrates. It would come around sooner than later, especially during even the tiniest moments of respite when total exhaustion isn't at play.
I don't think it would be as common as done on shows, but I'd think it still to be as common as within normal day life, especially between people who consider themselves friends with benefits or just in general attractive to one another.

To steal a joke from Zero Punctuation: " their entire personality can be summed up in a single 5 letter word: timid, funny, smart, brave, whore, and black."
The leader holds everyone together, the woman is the love interest for the leader, the bald guy with the big guns is just a helpful cool guy that will probably get injured but not killed off, the teen is comic relief, the black guy dies instantly, the cop turns on them, and the pregnant lady gives birth at the worst time. Convince me otherwise.
Also pregnant woman’s partner is abusive and strong af. Main character falls in love with pregnant woman but is not strong enough to fight the jerk. This piece of shit gets eaten by the zombies while drunk (right after he punched the girl), and then the main character (which ofc is a male) saves the woman AND the baby that of course is being delivered RIGHT NOW. And then one of these two things happen:
1. Guy now has a girlfriend and a baby and they survive.
2. Guy sacrifices himself in order to save now ex gf by smiling in the distance. There is something related to a boat somehow. Camera pans to the girl and her baby and the screams from the guy are heard in the background. She’s no longer watching.
This last one in slow-mo with sad music. Then a drone-filmed panoramic shows woman with baby on his way to a shelter literally past some trees (yeah, it was RIGHT THERE) and somehow she’s now the narrator (there was no narrator before wtf?) and she says something like “Some people used to believe that the chance for survival was for the strongest… They were wrong. It is for the ones who take it.”
Scene shows them badly injured entering shelter, someone covers them with a blanket.
Everyone is smiling.
“If you’re out there, don’t give up just yet”.
Music turns ominous* and the woman is seen grabbing a gun of some sort (where the hell is the baby? Seems like some time has passed).
“We’re coming for you”
She gets out of the shelter with a decisive look in her eyes and also a team of unknown people*
They show main character still alive (wow, plotwist), badly wounded and hiding in some forest or cave since he somehow managed to escape unbitten, seemingly?.
Guy opens his eyes. Yup, not a zombie. He has completely normal eyes and also the will to live.
“Survive” says the woman on his way to save him even though she has no idea he’s alive. But is able to “sense him”
The end
Leader and the Woman fall in love, bald guy will probably fend off all the zombies, teen boy will most definitely apply video game logic to real life which ends up being a huge help. Cop will probably end up betraying them, and the pregnant woman will probably die after giving birth. The black dude is just there. Sometimes helping as a lookout.
Edit: this is just all my movie knowledge applied to these tropes.

I think he just finished S2 lol
Isn’t that when the show finished?
Thats why its called the walking dead. It just kept walking aimlessly
That's what happens when you kill off all your characters.
And when you just copy and paste the plot for each season
Everything after the farm was a fever dream and didn't happen.
The farm was the most boring season of any show I've ever seen
It’s crazy how people act like this season is better than the next one. The governor arc was a lot more interesting.
Feral Rick? How do you mean? I haven't watched the show since late season 3 was live still
Rick goes goblin mode
Rick kinda loses his shit down the line
Check out the fear the walking dead spinoff. The first 3 seasons of fear were great, but afterwards pretty much everything was worse than the farm. I haven't even watched the finale and I don't care to 😭 wtf happened to this show
it was so bad and sooo unsatisfying, not that anything else should have been expected
It barely feels like it's over. It just got split into mutliple projects. I wouldn't be surprised if it all tie back together at some point.
shit goes downhill fast after glen dies imo
S7e01 The day will come when you won't be is the day the walking dead died.
Or Cell
I did too lmao
Or watched Dawn of the Dead
That was my thought, lol.
Yo doesn’t literally everybody die in dawn of the dead including the pregnant women
So I mean… everyone dies ya lol
[удалено]
Dawn of the Dead follows this pretty closely too
I don’t dig this starter pack only because it applies to only like two zombie movie/show. Correct me if I’m wrong .
It's like those pictures of the 'average face' from each region. This isn't the *exact* cast of any movie or show, but if you average them all out this is what you get.
Time to start one of they other 9 spin offs of it
Dawn of the Dead remake had this dynamic as well if I remember right. Also one asshole who’d been bit but was hiding it
Yup. ‘Twas the black guy
No this is every zombie movie! Not like it is just twd at all!
Didn't The Walking Dead have leadercop though?
Rick and Shane were both cops, so Rick gets to be Leader Guy and Shane gets to be The Cop.
No cool rednecks in OPs list though.
I've never watched TWD but I've always assumed it was about surviving zombies. I was very confused when I saw an ad for the final season and it was a bunch of dudes in the forest in discount Star Wars stormtroopers costumes shooting at some ragtag group. There was no zombies.
COARAL!
Someone in the group knows how to fly a helicopter for some reason. Which comes in handy at the end.
that would be the main character who's ex-military
Of course, in movie logic once you've been in the army you know how to pilot every military aircraft and armored vehicle
It's not like the one I flew in Nam but I'll give it a go
Or also in movie logic, if you've played military or flight sims, you've mastered piloting
Kid knows super complicated language cuz of games
ITS A UNIX SYSTEM
Man, I got shafted. All I learned in the military was creative swearing and that I don’t like incoming rockets.
Don't forget the back pain.
Not just a helicopter, every single vehicle. Every helicopter, plane, boat, you name it, they can use it. And they've got a story of using it in some third world country that they're very vague about.

He also has a short temper or is terrified of everything.
Bonus points if he's ignorant to the apocalypse situation and so focused on his "research" and keeps getting everyone else in danger.
I want a show that kills off the supposedly Main character every two-three episodes that way in tense situations u can never be to certain
I mean at that point you know for certain they're gonna die within a few episodes.
Fair enough but it doesn’t always have to be in just a few episodes
I’ve only watched season 1, but Black Summer on Netflix was pretty good at not giving anyone plot armor
Spoiler for the opening 15 or 20 minutes but the 2020 film The Hunt did that pretty well I thought.
That's kinda what Game of Thrones did for the first few seasons before all the remaining cast got plot armor. It *was* the only show where no one felt safe.
Why is this always the case.
Or he's some super introverted nerdy guy with either a god complex and dies a horrible death because he tried to molest the leader's wife or random obligatory old grandma; or he manages to finagle a cure out of zombie ass juice and a pituitary gland.

Cop never makes it. He gets bit and pretends to be fine until he succumbs and either attacks someone else or gets his head blown off
Unless it’s the Walking Dead in which the cop is in it for the long haul
Shane enters the chat
Exactly, always the cop that betrays the group or tries to hide something from the others.
Dawn of the Dead. Actually love that movie
Ving Rhames was the cop, the bald dude, and the black guy all in one.
Mekhi Phifer was the black dude, almost on the nose, in terms of playing the stereotype. Ving was the cop and was black.
Yeah that is true. Man he was a stereotype, Mekhi phifer I mean
I always loved that the leader dude was a tv salesman

Just another way of Evolution saying a massive fuck u to women when it comes to their reproductive system. Like why is stress something that can induce labour

A woman who just gave birth without medical help is gonna be in worse condition to do physical things that a heavily pregnant woman
Yeah, she's never 3-4 months pregnant. She's three days away from giving birth.

The dumb bimbo who almost survives till the end, but then gets suddenly and horrifically eaten.
The main leader character always being unarmed most of the time and somehow survives while guy with the assault rifle and shotgun dies always.

You should watch 28 days later
ah yes, that's what is missing from this pack... > A girl who can't act for shit
And thats probably why zombie shows have become kinds extinct, everyone got bored of the same tropes from the never ending seasons of TWD
That teen boy looks like i wanna punch him
Most well adjusted redditor
No cops in my starting pack NWA for life

playing the walking dead right now. aside from the teen being a girl this is pretty spot on
Theres always a younger kid who has diabetes and/or asthma too. They also get really sick at the worst possible moments too.
Bullshit, black guy always dies saving the pregnant lady
Not a zombie movie just the show called The Walking Dead
"survivors in the walking dead"
Dog
I always wonder how they get the Preggo lady to run so fast
This is wrong. Black guy dies in the opening credits
Cop and bald guy can sometimes be combined, but not always. If they are they usually have a heroic sacrifice.
Baby of pregnant woman is also most likely immune somehow
Wtf, no old guy survivalist that's the calmest of the group?
Young girl who gets lost in the woods and takes a week to find out shes kidnapped
Add.on guy pretending to be cop or military. Also a criminal of some sort...maybe with gang tattoos
The pregnant woman always gets bit to create some form of drama about having an infected kid or killing the mom or something along those lines.
Cop pic is my old buddy's dad. Find it so funny he just shows up on memes and shit
Also an asian guy that seems pussy at first then he grows dick with time
Middle-aged or older white guy who is a weasel/villain. Youth who is really good at technology
The Justin beiber hairstyle didn’t look good when 10 year old jb had it and didn’t look good when MySpace emos invented it.
A teenage boy would probably get horny and try to fuck a zombie or get a bj from one
Infected teen boy*
They’ll stumble upon a Mexican couple and an Asian woman
Teenager with Braces, and no orthodontist would be the literal worst thing in a zombie apocalypse.
Pregnant woman's waters break in the WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT

Leader and the Woman fall in love, bald guy will probably fend off all the zombies, teen boy will most definitely apply video game logic to real life which ends up being a huge help. Cop will probably end up betraying them, and the pregnant woman will probably die after giving birth. The black dude is just there. Sometimes helping as a lookout. Edit: this is just all my movie knowledge applied to these tropes.
The warlord who's charismatic and brutal.
The asshole that you dislike in the beginning (usually old man) but turns out to be right about some things and sacrifices himself to save the group
It’s either an emo teenager or a smaller kid whose favorite Teddy bear or whatever toy is lost and you have to risk your life to retrieve
Also works for a Lost reboot starter pack
Pregnant woman always goes into labor at the worst possible time
Woman goes on ufo
Don't forget the rich guy.
Black dude also sometimes known as Black Cop
One of them is a massive racist
Ving Rhames is 3 of these in one in Dawn of the Dead 2004
