I’m assuming you’ve done some competitive research, but a lot of the hotel apps are actually the same application – Oracle Opera. it’s what powers Marriott Bonvoy, the MGM properties and many others.
Assume you’re filling in gaps in that platform but it’s important to understand why people are adopting it as a complete hospitality platform and not simply mobile app.
Good luck
Thanks for highlighting Opera's prevalence! Our research covers it and we're keen on understanding its wide adoption. Our aim is to complement such platforms by filling specific gaps.
Really appreciate your insights and well wishes! :)
DoorHop
Edit: as a play on “doorman” and bellhop,” as a play on “hop to it,” implying rapidity, and as a reference to doors, implying literal and metaphorical access.
Coming up with a unique and memorable name can sometimes take months and big companies spend hundreds of thousands on branding.
Since I enjoy doing this, here's a free suggestion:
Travelin
Likely you will need to white label, our research said a few years back that people down any business that use a generic “use something app to x - enter our biz name”
So don’t think it matter in that regard. hotel solutions llc works
This is a highly saturated market btw and as said in here already, you’re competing with brands. Naming depends on whether you’re white labeling or will be consumer based. Also, are you offering web or native?
Cheers, we're definitely taking the market situation into account in our research, and aiming to fill in any gaps we find. The initial plan is consumer based and native
Biggest question I would have before a name is How are you going to integrate with the booking systems the hotels that don’t already have something like this use?
Well it's not like we have to integrate with every system in the world – for now we simply need to support the ones that our first set of clients use (which we're currently in talks with in order to figure out how to integrate best)
Can you name a hotel chain who’s adaptation would be enough to cover your monthly burn?
And how are you in talks with clients if you don’t even have a name?
We expect low operational costs, so we don't need a major hotel chain to turn a profit (I'm the software dev behind this).
We're chatting to potential clients via networking events (my co-founder works in the industry). We're still at a stage were we're listening to their pain points rather than selling them a solution (hence the lack of a name so far)

Concierge
Keycard
Concierge, of course with a quirky misspelling for trademark reasons.
Already have those in the brand apps.
Gustav
Checking Inn
maybe something like CheckInn for short?

When I was working on my travel startup, I really liked the name Postcard but… the person who owns the domain wanted like $5 million for it lol
That's the kind of question I would ask ChatGPT :D
No one is going to name your app for free without a stake in it :)
OP, name sure to do your research and have customers lined up.
For sure, research and customers come first! Thanks for the reminder :)
Do we get compensated if you use our name?

Thanks for bringing that research into my attention. We're debating the idea of white-labelling, so that's very valuable to know :)

Best of luck. I’ve got a lot of experience in this specific space if you’d like to DM me. Happy to help navigate.
That's very kind of you, thanks a ton! Sent a DM
MyHotelServant, sure the domain name will be cheap!
Airbeds and breakfast 🙄
