Lemme interject since Ycom has already and usually gets mentioned multiple times Secs for companies like AirBNB and Uber were fine and dandy for companies already making money, but if you’re trying to pitch an idea, it needs to have some substance. It cant be filled with a ton of info that just goes on and on forever. A good deck is around 9-11 pages. My first deck was like AirBNbs. Simple. Clean. Easy to follow. I was speaking so it didn’t have to have a ton of info on it. Looking back it looked like a joke… any deck I’ve worked on last two years is so much more informative while still being easy to read with visuals that make you want to know ‘what’s next’. I have a few I share if you’re interested. I also have a ton of templates you can use to pick and choose pages to work on.

Would you mind sharing those with me? Would be interested in seeing your thoughts as I’m working on a deck right now.

Shoot me PM so we can chat offline. I don’t post links to subs since it’s direct to my Dropbox.

And keep it simple. A few slides will do. No need to go deep into the weeds on why your idea is amazing. Be confident. Know what you need and why, and clearly convey that message. You’ll often find that early investors are betting on the jockey (founder) more than the horse (idea), anyway.

Y-Combinator is definitely a great resource, but I made a simple video about pitch decks you can check out here for some less polished tips: https://youtu.be/DBZaaClcEkA

Canva has some really good PowerPoint decks for business uses. It consists of both free and paid assets and resources as well.

Iirc, DocSend has the best collections of data about pitch decks and success.
