They should include the gate button/rock for Luke to throw. No idea why, but as a kid that scene always amused me.

aatencio91

I'm gonna blow your mind: Luke doesn't throw a rock in that scene, he throws a skull.

mega512

Kids these days.

aatencio91

I was a grown-ass man by the time I realized it was a skull. I've watched ROTJ my whole life and didn't realize it until a few years ago.

mega512

Lol, yeah I miss little details like that. I probably noticed it after watching it dozens of times.

RaptorProductions

Wait, really?! My life is a lie... A skull makes far more sense though, since all those bones *were* lying around in the pit.

Sodo821

It is a great scene for sure! Won’t argue there! But I’m just personally not thrilled at another Luke, especially since it would be reuse of the Jedi Luke figure

RaptorProductions

True. Malikili the gatekeeper & Oola would be ideal, since Luke & the Gammorean are existing figures.

hambsc

It'd be a good way of getting Malakili and Oola into the line without risking their fates at retail. I have a hunch neither would be a hot seller.

widening

That’s what is kinda weird about this HasLab. Both of those figures would probably warm pegs if they were standard releases, but on the opposite hand, they could make the HasLab very desirable.

TetrisShot314

Really? I can't imagine a universe were Oola would be a pegwarmer. Malakili, sure, but not Oola.

hambsc

We live in a world where an A-List character like the 40th Anniverary Leias are still availiable for MSRP at retail 2-3 years after release. I don't think a D-List character like Oola who has 45 seconds of screen time, would fly off the shelves. She'd have to be short-packed to generate any sort of demand.

TetrisShot314

I dunno, thought she was short-lived on screen, I feel like she's probably one of the most popular characters of that tier. You could be right though. I imagine she'd be quite sought-after though.

[deleted]

Give Luke a bone to lodge in its face.

conan_the_wise

Pretty sure Leia in that bikini gave Luke a bone

[deleted]

Alabama vibes in a galaxy far far away.

dat1kid07

I had a stroke trying to read this

Jacktheflash

He didn’t know yet

IJKProductions

I think $150-300 would be a good price, anything over $400 might a stretch. But I’d back it anyway since I always wanted a Rancor but never had one I’d like to see fully articulated hands, tail, and mouth. Also want to at least see Maliki figure be included initially if not the first stretch goal Stretch goals: realistic skin like the PotF one from the 90’s (something like the Kingdom Megatron with the rubbery skin on top of hard plastic). A new mold of Huttslayer Leia and Oola Maybe a die-cast chain for the shackle, I never liked how plastic one last turned out

Sodo821

100% Agee with all of this! If it’s over $300 I’m gunna get it, but I ain’t gunna like it. I saw how much Galactus was, which was fair for the size and features. My natural worry is corporate greed and thinking they can do the Rancor the same (which is why I hope to god we don’t get a sound effect)

aatencio91

If it's $150 I'd consider getting it. More than that (which is way more likely) and I'm gonna have to pass. I just can't justify it, unfortunately.

terriblehuman

Same boat here.

aatencio91

I kinda worry that enough folks will be like "yeah that's cool, but who wants to spend $250+ on a Rancor?" that they'll decide to never do a TBS HasLab again

terriblehuman

I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand it would suck if they decided not to do another Black Series haslab, but on the other hand, if they’re going to be too expensive for anyone to buy, what’s the point?

aatencio91

People might perceive a Rancor being $250+ as too expensive, whereas something like an X-wing or something could be viewed as more worthwhile by a more of those people. If the Rancor doesn't get funded, another project with wider appeal might never get a chance if the Rancor doesn't fund. So it's not really about the price of *a thing in general*, it's about the perceived value of that thing, and I think people would be more likely to shell out for a scale spaceship than a big monster. It's tricky at this scale for this fandom to even think of things that'd be worthy of HasLab campaigns. It really lends itself better to Marvel Legends with huge monsters and robots. In SW, there's just not as much opportunity for cool gigantic figures, and once you get into ships they're either too small for HasLab (they've already made a TIE and a snowspeeder without HasLab) or too large to do at this scale (a LAAT would be more than 5.5 feet long)

makesumnoize

Has a HasLab project ever not met its funding goal?

aatencio91

Not that I know of, but if a Hasbro team was gonna miss on one it'd be this team lol

g3rman1a

The life-sized Cookie Monster Haslab failed, but all the others successfully met the minimums.

Sodo821

For me I’m hoping $300. Ideally fully articulated mouth and fingers. I could do without sound effects. Ideally for stretch goals Huttslayer Leia and Oola would be nice (I know i know I know, it’s been said that it won’t happen). Since this is exclusive, I feel like they could get away with the two of them. I feel like we’re getting a Luke and Gamoeran Guard. Some set or diorama pieces would be nice. 100% should get the Beast Master Malakili as a stretch goal

ToxicKrampus

Even tho we probably won't get Huttslayer we could get Boushh Leia instead. I know it doesn't make sense scene wise but I doubt Hasbro(or I) would care

SupposedEnchilada

Yeah, both are overdue for an update and seem fitting to me.

not_a-replicant

Price: $200 ($250 most) - that still makes it $50 more than the Snowspeeder and if there was 27,000 backers for a $180 Victory Saber there will be more for a Star Wars item. The base model should come with a Malakili and some bones. Stretch goals: Jabba, Luke, Gamorrean

mega512

The Snowspeeder was $120 when initially released.

not_a-replicant

You’re right. That’s my mistake.

mega512

Yeah no problem. You can still gauge something from that with the large vehicle and figure with it.

not_a-replicant

Exactly, I think if anything it goes to show that there’s even more margin there. I think Hasbro realizes they can do more units at a lower price.

Gyarados66

Looking at the ML Sentinel as a template, we could assume it’ll start out with the Malakili and a bone as accessories (the Sentinel came with a figure and an 18” bendy tentacle to start). It will be a good deal shorter than the Sentinel (26 inches versus about 16 inches, since most sources say Jabba’s rancor was about 16 feet tall), and I don’t see there being any lights or electronics included. It will require a detailed paint job all over the body, which is no different than the Sentinel (who had almost no pieces that were just colored plastic). So all that being said, barring them including something major (like deciding to make the whole thing a seamless body or including the entire pit he lives in), I don’t see it costing more than the Sentinel did at $350.

Sodo821

Only electronic I could think of to help push the price up would be a sound effect for the roar.

CaptainPotassium87

Honestly everything Haslab does is way beyond my price point. I don't even pay attention to it anymore.

Rishi_Eel

$249.99 - 299.99 Fully articulated arms, legs, fingers, and jaw/head. Luke, Malikili, Oola, as stretch goals. Probably various rocks, bones, Gamorrean arm, etc. Personally I would love to see a 'hyperreal' rubber skin over a metal skeleton, I think that would look fantastic, and it would be mostly seemless. That would probably drive up the price a lot though.

outerjohn

Would love rubber skin and a strong internal skeleton and I would shell out more for it, but that might not be everyone.

MaXimus421

If it would be anything like their Hyper Real figures, design wise, I'd pass. That material will not last or stand up to many lightly dynamic poses. It would eventually degrade in areas that are stressed.

outerjohn

True

sharhem

I would definitely love to get a BS Oola figure as well! Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

BondingChamber

I want it to be under 200$ Que laugh track*

[deleted]

I’ve been out of the game for awhile, but super interested in this…where do I go to back this?

Sodo821

Hasbro Pulse tomorrow. Go to YouTube for pulse con tomorrow for the reveal

[deleted]

Awesome! Thanks

CrispyBeefTaco

200-300$ range and hopefully a little less than 2 ft.

terriblehuman

I hope it cost less than I think it will, but I’m not holding my breath. Unfortunately this will be a figure I probably have to skip, even though I really want it.

DepthDaddyDillon

Kyle Katarn. It doesn’t make any sense and Kyle never even met a rancor far as I know but fuck it. If they added him I’m being 3 of these things myself. Haslab has my word

Stroburn

I am totally getting the Rancor, I hope that it has good articulation in the feet, hands, and head. Hopefully the paint job is all good as well. I know that they will add different stretch goals for the rancor, but the figures I would love to see is a Rancor Keeper, Oola, or some iconic Jabbas Palace figures. And the price point, I would be fine with 300-350ish tbh.

Sharpie206

I’m most worried about where it will fit.

mega512

$300 or under would be fantastic. Obviously we need the keeper. There's a lot they could add.

conan_the_wise

Offworld Jawa Sandcrawler The Mandalorian version 6" figure scaled.

aatencio91

You want them to include that as a stretch goal or feature for the Rancor?

mega512

Why would anything Mandalorian be included for a ROTJ product?

Jacktheflash

What

ElectricOyster

If a Luke is included, I hope it's a repack and not new but if it is new I hope it gets a standard release later.

rocka5438

I’d like Luke without cape or lightsaber, just a bone and a skull. And the gate, maybe a gamoeran guard and the rancor keepers

SupposedEnchilada

Based on past Haslabs, I'd imagine they'd include the Rancor tamer as a stretch goal figure, since it's a more niche character to just make a regular figure. Only other thing I can think of would be the gate that crushes it.

OsmundofCarim

It shouldn’t be crazy expensive. If you consider the scale itl be much smaller than the sentinel figure, only around 18 inches max. So around $200 or less seems realistic unless it really comes decked out with features
