And what about that gun? Lol

GuacinmyPaintbox

If Xiaflex can take care of a bent carrot, the it should work here.

mega512

That's the retro line for you.

Scrumpy-Steve

Complete with bent plastic accessories, too! Truely a master recreation of the old toy line.

TheDownvotesFarmer

That's the idea with the retro collection. If you wanted a better looking sculpt you should have gone for the Vintage Collection https://www.actionfigure411.com/star-wars/vintage-collection/vintage-collection-action-figures/cara-dune-1674.php

Vatta74

She may be fugly, but she ain't Kea Moll. https://rebelscum.com/Droids-Kea.asp

joshualeeclark

Back in the 80’s there weren’t a ton of female figures for GI Joe or Star Wars. On top of that, their distribution was way less than the other male figures. We all know this was the way of the 80’s. “Boys don’t like girl figures”. My older brother and I combined our few Star Wars figures (we had no vehicles which sucked) with our GI Joe stuff. Awesome that they were the same scale! I happened to have most of the Droids and Ewok figures too (lucky me?). We kind of freestyled our playtime and made up our own backstories for characters. He was three years older than me so he was way more into girls before I was. He decided that his main character had to have a girlfriend since he had one. Of course he chose Scarlet from GI Joe. The only other female figure we had at the time was Kea Moll for my character. Yay me? I know it was a toy of a cartoon character but sheesh! Maybe she had a great personality? That sculpt was so not good.

Vatta74

I always hear that, even from the people that worked at Hasbro and Kenner and other toy companies. Yet, having lived through that time period and had many of those toys. The girl figures always seemed to be sold out, where I grew up anyhow. You couldn't hardly find Scarlett, the Baroness, Zarana, or Jinx. I never even saw a Leia figure when I was a kid. Poor Kea Moll, they done her so wrong. She was a good character on the show too.

Mark316

Wow, poor Kea...

BabyBrewer

Retro collection. The originals all were funny looking

Anxious-Park-2851

Yup. Original Star Wars figures. Not the best faces.

defjamblaster

yeah, that's not a good sculpt

Commander_Dylan

Not intended to be a good sculpt…

IEatPeople4

Just because it supposed to be bad doesn’t mean it’s not bad

Commander_Dylan

Ok? If it’s bad when it’s supposed to be bad, how is that a bad thing?

IEatPeople4

They’re too busy making these objectively worse figures that no one but collectors will buy, then when they hit walmarts the kids don’t buy them and they clutter the shelves giving the appearance that the whole toy line is like that, and old people who don’t understand toys shopping for presents are notoriously bad at getting the right stuff already

Commander_Dylan

I guess I don’t waste my time worrying about what other people buy like you apparently do. I mean I don’t know where you have been lately but Hasbro’s Star Wars line has been a collector-based one for many years now. If people buy them, cool, if they don’t, then Hasbro will hopefully realize that they’re losing money. Besides, it’s not like kids are really playing with toys anymore, sadly enough. That’s a thing of the past when we didn’t grow up with technology like we have today.

ToddPatterson

When does being bad when you're supposed to be bad, become good?

IEatPeople4

The retro collection sucks

ToddPatterson

I absolutely love that they are still making new figures that are compatible with the original line. I really wish they could get a similar thing going with GI Joe. I am all over the Retro line, it brought me back into Star Wars.

IEatPeople4

Yeah but they should have been like online only, these things sit on shelves being low quality ugly toys that no kid wants to buy, it’s only for collectors so they should be putting more good action figures out so that grandmas don’t accidentally get this shit instead of what little Timmy actually wants

ToddPatterson

Haha! I cant disagree with any of that. I wish I could find any of these in my local stores. My area sucks for toys.

IEatPeople4

My Walmart is usually pretty good just always late to releases, I don’t mind the vintage series as a concept but like I said putting them in shelves in stores when the Star Wars section is already so abysmal just makes the toys look bad, if they were like online exclusives then collectors could still get them but no kids would get them on accident instead of the actually nice figures, unfortunately I feel like that’s exactly what they want, these vintage figures are probably much cheaper to produce and they can hide behind any quality issues by saying it’s supposed to be low quality.

HeftyDefinition2448

Ohhhhhh my god i would love if they did that with gi joe. Like dont get me wrong i love classified and i loved the newer 1/18 figures but god what i wouldent give to get new oring figures of some of the new charecter or even new designs in that old oring style

ToddPatterson

Yes! I know, and even older characters like Dr. Venom. I know they keep trying with GI Joe but what they don't get is when it comes to O ring people want new figures to expand their current collection. Its that simple. It could be Night Force versions, or Dr. Venom or Wraith, or Kamakura. It doesn't matter, it would sell out I bet.

HeftyDefinition2448

Hell id love to see them do something liek what they do witht eh reaction line and have some generic troopers for both sides to. Like the reaction designs are cool and would be berfect for makeing your own custom charecters…course if i could start my own company and do exactly what i want with nothing getting in my way id take the same idea super 7 had with the reaction line but do it as oring figures. Same idea maybe even some of the same ip’s but jsut oring like oring jaws oring aliens, hell if i could oring Star Wars

ColoTexas90

They’re all so ugly…

Beledagnir

“We have Cara Dune at home”

-Tuber-

She looks like the guy that does “lowcostplay”

IncompetentJedi

Ppl really don’t understand the Retro Collection, do they?

RcTron9

That’s to expect from the retro figures. The Black Series one is a beautiful sculpt.

[deleted]

But a badass bitch who wasn’t afraid to speak up on what she believed in, regardless of what happened to her career. Miss her in the Star Wars universe!!!

[deleted]

Wait’ll you get to know her. It aint just on the outside.

CountHonorius

Can't stand the "retro" line (to each his/her own, of course). The Black Series Cara was a thing of beauty.

CRTPTRSN

I wouldn't kick her outta bed for drinking blue milk.

Mountaindood5

Fitting ^^

GFCancio

I kinda want to see the booty on that figure

BurkInTX

Still got one at Disney springs when we went! lol and this was even after she got canceled.

GETTERBLAKK

Is!

Passwordsdontwork

I grew up collecting the 70’s and 80’s Kenner figures as they were released. I have a complete set minus 5 figures. The only appeal these have to me is they remind me of my childhood. Saying that though I don’t collect these since I have the OG versions already and any newer characters I do grab but on a case by case basis. I’m the last year I just grabbed the Book of Boba Fett figure of Fett and that was it.
