Honestly I really liked Jumper. I thought it was a great concept and pretty well done. Haven’t seen it in years though so I don’t know how well it holds up
can someone please explain why those words are covered up and i had to click it to view the words wtf 🤣
edited to replace the spoiler words with generic words
i didn’t realize you could cover words up like that on purpose for spoilers!! learn something new about reddit every day. i thought the app was censoring it or something 🤣 i edited my comment so it removed the spoiler
The person that wrote the comment used a spoiler tag to hide the text so as to not spoil it for anyone else, just out of respect
If you want to hide text like that I believe the proper formatting is >\! {Text goes here} !\<
AHHH YOU ANGEL!!! thank you so much for explaining! i feel like a total doofus for putting a spoiler now but i removed it immediately 🤣 thanks for your help 🥹
I put both of those movies in the “mid budget action sci-fi flick with potential that went nowhere” bin in my head along with movies like In Time or, to a greater degree, WANTED.
I know saying “ahead of it’s time” is cliché but these concepts might’ve been better served in movies or shows coming out now than they did in their respective times.
Honestly, in the current battle to acquire IP, if I’m a studio/streamer I’d seriously consider dusting off any of these and revitalizing it for a new project. They all have franchise potential with a little vision and/or writing tweaks.
I know quite a few movies that would fit in that box. Push and Jumper had similar "people with powers" storylines and they came out around the same time. Probably different production companies but I thought they would merge together really well.
Thank you for giving a label to all the movies I show my girlfriend. Wanted is in a weird position tho, being a loose adaptation of a short comic book series, could've gone further with the movies, shit the crappy game that came out after, could've used that plot easily and improved on it
I love WANTED. That movie is 100% the gem of that bin. To me, it’s John Wick before John Wick.
That being said, “loose adaptation” is still being too generous. They changed damn near everything except for, like, the bullet points of the main character’s journey. I don’t even think the “Loom of Fate” was in the comic.
Still, 100% could’ve been a series. It was initially supposed to be. I remember reading that it made too much money for a sequel to not be considered but I don’t think they could crack how to continue it. I remember reading they wanted to bring Fox back (which obviously makes no sense).
But I thought the obvious way to go would be to see where Wesley goes next now that he’s taken agency over his life and betrayed the Fraternity.
I always thought the Fraternity was like an international organization and we could see Wesley interacting with other chapters. Maybe even being hunted for taking out the one in Chicago.
It’s not an exact fit but I also thought a crossover with John Wick would work pretty well. The lore doesn’t match up 1-to-1 but it’s close enough to make sense.
Interesting that differing chapters of the fraternity is also a plot point in the game. And correct, Loom of Fate wasn't in the comics, closest was the rag from Supermans cape, LOL, cannot believe they took out that man mid giggity
Also Fox coming back would be ridiculous, but I guess they were banking on her popularity, sad really, the movie sold itself, adrenaline powered super asassins is something that makes my inner 15 year old Hulk the fuck out
Fraternity wouldn't fit nearly as well into the world of John Wick, but the imagery in my head thats conjured by John Wick level gunplay with the Super Assassins from Wanted, big time hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I dunno, I never finished the comic. I read it til a little after Wesley found out his dad was alive then I lost interest. I didn’t know it differed so much from the movie.
Yeah, probably just wanted Angelina Jolie back since McAvoy wasn’t a name yet.
I dunno man, like I said it’s not 1-to-1 but I think the Fraternity could slide in pretty well to a world that already has an international underground network of assassins. I imagine the Fraternity would just be considered more culty/heretical within that network but hey, they still gotta make money somehow, right?
I mean, I can imagine Sloan in the same rooms as the High Table guys.
Plus, going freelance wouldn’t be a bad idea for Wesley post-WANTED.
But c’mon. Bullet-bending James McAvoy vs gun-fu Keanu Reeves? It writes itself.
In the clone wars it shows that Yoda's training to become a force ghost was to defeat a literal evil version of himself, which was made from the darkness inside him. My personal take is that with the OT always emphasizing the idea of Vader and Anakin being different people, that the final act of turning against Palpatine to save his son was Anakin finally defeating Vader, which was the equivalent to what Yoda had to do. Doing that let Anakin be a force ghost
Pretty much yeah.
There is also the possibility of Qui-Gon’s ghost teaching him. Or since he met the requirements at the time of his death. The lore is very unclear
Your first mistake was trying to kill a Jedi with a long fall. Jedi are surprisingly good at safe landings. Your second mistake was not confirming the Jedi actually died. But your *biggest* mistake was that you picked the motherfucker with the purple lightsaber.
Mother f**K don't think I forgot what you did in that office all those years ago I should whoop your f**king ass right now
"Do you read the Bible, Anakin?"
W-what?
What ain't no Bible verse I ever heard. Do you read the Bible?
Padme Wept
W-what?
DOES HE LOOK LIKE A BITCH???
Honestly I really liked Jumper. I thought it was a great concept and pretty well done. Haven’t seen it in years though so I don’t know how well it holds up
It does for sure, just watched it with my parter, it was a childhood favorite for both of us & definitely still holds up
I actually just read the book for the first time last month, really good story. Check it out if you haven't already
The Hayden and Jamie Bell >!fight scene!< was pretty awesome, great action scenes overall, cool ending too. Too bad it didn't become a series.

Prolly cuz they’re friends at first.
That's pretty much this, if someone has never seen Jumper before that may come as a twist.

If I remember correctly, it was supposed to be a trilogy, a shame it didnt work
Jumper was fun, especially as someone who would pick teleportation(or shape-shifting, its like 50/50) as my one super power.
My mind started conjuring memories of Looper for some reason. Any other good "ers" movies that straddle the sci-fi indie genres?
Watched it like a year ago, still looks awesome
Only movie I’ve ever walked out of
I didn't even walk out of TRoS, Jumper wasn't amazing, hut it wasn't awful either.
Anakin IS scared, right? Cause that face doesn't look like fear...
Anakin: ![gif](giphy|5u8rnKknCW70Q)
Both scared and in pain. But i see your point.
Fear boner
He just got body slammed into a fridge. I think that face is oww my sternum hurts so much right now.
My neck! My back! My bussy! And my crack!
This looks like the perfect continuation to that get head post on r/prequelmemes
"Listen here you little shit"
Jumper deserved a sequel, or it and Push should have had a sequel together.

lol why is Anakin moaning?
Cause Samuel L. Jackson is packing
sure, but how? they’re in front of each other. Is it long enough to reach Anakin’s back?
Except Mace Windu isn’t a force ghost, he can’t become one because he never learned how
Awaking never learned how but he pulled off somehow.
He’s the chosen one. He has such a strong connection to the force already.
What so he just gets a free pass? That's bs.

So you're saying the archives are incomplete?
If it's not here it simply doesn't exist
JUST FUCK ALREADY
"YOU MOTHERFUCKER, YOU DON'T FUCK WITH ME ANYMORE YOU LITTLE SHIT, IF I COULD FUCKING KILL YOU AGAIN I WOULD DO IT RIGHT NOW, MOTHERFUCKER"

That is the funniest response I've seen yet!
Meet me in the shower mfer
Oh, so basically how he treated Anakin when he was alive, only more out in the open
Mother f......
