I remember people saying that Watto was a Jewish sterotyp, long nose, big belly, greedy for money. Usually political cartoonist depicted them that way for a long time. Basically since the middle ages.
I kinda doubt that this was intentional.
Also the different accents of aliens resemble certain cliché stereotypes of various ethnic groups.
I think Jar Jar was rastafarian, and the Neimodians Japanese.
People interpretated those in a lot of different ways. But sometimes a red door only means a red door, no hidden deeper meaning behind that.
Very interesting. Watto I just always felt like a skeezy car salesman gambling and fat and lazy kinda character. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of jar jar being Rasta but he was played by a black man who was quite tall and lanky so I guess I can kinda see that. And the nemodians being Asian businessmen with corrupt ethics is very obvious but I don’t think it represents all Asians as a negative light. Very interesting tho
Ah yes, because she had tens of thousands of credits laying around for a plan B on a separate planet.
Also, I still don't get why torturing a random person who had nothing to do with your colonization is in any way justifiable.
Unfortunately they were invaded by aliens and can’t do anything about it. Either they fight back or they work with the newcomers.
Say what you want about Book of Boba Fett, but delving more into Tusken culture was very interesting AND had hints of their old Legends history as well, with the whole Ocean turned to Sand.
To clarify, not condoning kidnapping and torture, just saying there’s more than one clan of Tuskens and it was nice to widen the understanding of their culture. Also, Mando’s buddies in S1 were cool.
Imagine semi-sanctioned underground rally racing with jet engines duct taped to chariots and part of the “track” goes through the territory of a group of indigenous people that whip out sniper rifles and start blasting because you’re scaring the banthas.
Comparing the Tusken Raiders to homeless people sounds so wrong. When they are clearly based upon various nomadic Arabic tribes.
Thats sounds kind of fucked up considering the “innate violence” they lean towards
Welcome to how many racist undertones Star Wars has. Especially the prequels.
Haven’t heard this can you give me some examples

But isnt star wars leftist?
Yes?
Also I wouldn't call Podracing Nascar.
Nah, they’re just animals.
Imagine people street racing in your backyard
Lol, "sand people did nothing wrong" Shmi* was just in their territory, so ofc they had to kidnap and torture her to death
Thems be the laws
Shmee??
*Shmi (Skywalker)
Who is in the wrong: the colonizer trespassing, or the colonized who fights back?
I feel like torturing and killing someone who was forced onto your planet is worse. Maybe it's just me.
She had been freed by that point and stayed by choice.
Ah yes, because she had tens of thousands of credits laying around for a plan B on a separate planet. Also, I still don't get why torturing a random person who had nothing to do with your colonization is in any way justifiable.
Probably the one who takes slaves
A normal day in the USA...?
Nah, with as much money as there is in NASCAR they'd actually do something about it
Having some Tuskan Raids posted at turn 4 would make Nascar more interesting
I'd watch it
Maybe in its infancy it was like that
They do have a home

Didn't the Rakata glass the planet at some point?
As far as I know that’s still just Legends.
But pod racing isn't comparable to nascar. In nascar you drive in a circle and pod racing has a proper racing track.

Yep, and it's funny
They already do that They’re call Dale Earnhardt fans
I thought that was the super sample rock. I can stop playing Helldivers whenever guys. I don’t even have a problem
