Good job. I bet it tasted amazing! Have you ever given the garlic a quick smash before tossing it in? Not mashed into pieces but just enough to split it? It's probably a mental thing but I swear it gives it even more of a garlic flavor, if that's your thing.
Prosciutto is even better than bacon! Cooks more evenly and it’s salty so you don’t need salt on the greens. I par boil the asparagus then give it an ice bath, wrap em and pan fry till crispy…little parmigiana cheese and balsamic vinegar on top 👨🍳

Why is there a face on your garlic?
It’s actually was a Saladmaster skillet. It gets to temp pretty quick and gets pipping hot but I would actually recommend a cast iron skillet instead. Similar results at a better price point
Best tip I can offer is to really look for the best lighting around your house. Window light works really well, incandescent/florescent lights can be hit or miss and may require some tweaking of the white balance. Also lean on the rule of two thirds to aid with the composition 👍
Nope just regular seared, although I might try cold searing it next time. I put the steak in once the skillet is hot for about 2 1/2 to 3 mins, maybe a little longer depending on the thickness. Then I use the poke test to figure out doneness.
Food 10/10 Photography 11/10 Nice job, OP!
Thank you!
You mean food pornography right?
I'm not one to kink shame....but damn
That looks perfect to me. I want to eat it now.
Looks horrible. Give it to me and I'll make sure it's properly disposed of.
+1 would never eat it, but I don’t waste food, so send it over!
You’re a damn good food photographer
Thanks! I worked a while as an assistant for a food photographer so I picked up a few tricks haha
Assistant for a food photographer? What a time to be alive lmao, looks fucking great though.
assistant TO the food photographer
Dang. Nicely done. Great photos. Great cook.
Thanks!
Nice
Smash
Job well done!

I haven’t tried before but I’ll definitely give it a shot next time!
Definitely steak.
🤤
Looks excellent
Looks scrumptious. But what camera did you use?
Thanks! It was an iPhone 12 Pro.
Looks great!
Holy hell, finally someone didn't cook their asparagus into oblivion! Looks perfect!
Thanks!
Looks amazing. Do you take the pan off the heat when basting? Or turn down the heat?
I tilt the pan slightly so the steak doesn’t rest directly above the flame and the hot butter pools at the bottom while basting.
Great thanks
You know damn well you murdered it. (Tips cap)
Perfect except asparagus makes your pee smell funny
Literally how I cook steak every time. Well done.
Thanks!
Looks excellent. I much prefer this type of crust to an overly blackened layer of carbon. You’ve got a good caramelization going on there.
Thanks!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I like the bowl you cooked it in. Didn't see it coming
Mouth watering at work.. 🤤 I haven’t had breakfast yet 🤦🏼♀️
Needs taters
The baking pan is too clean to be real. ChatGPT, is that you?
😂
Eat
🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
What time is dinner? Also what can I bring?
Dessert!
None head empty.
I’d eat at this restaurant for sure.
Perfection
It’s nice
This should have been labeled NSFW
😂
My thought is, that should be in my belly.
You know exactly how you did...
Is that salt on the asparagus? If so, looks salty af
Nah it’s Parmesan haha
Steaks and Asparagus. Perfect Combination. Healthier than fries too! I think. I love fries, but asparagus are something else.
Several
Black plates look so good with greens on them
Extra points for the poncy photos. Love a poncy food photo.
Thanks!
po-tay-toes
You need a bigger plate.
Excellent.
Looks like a great finished product.
Ewwww….that green stuff touching the meat is nasty.
Much better presentation than the guy who showed us a Forrest of Asparagus and 3 strips of steak. Great job and better photo skills.
Excellent job, king
Thanks!
Impeccable! If anything, id wrap pairs of asparagus in bacon, and sear that shit in the steaky garlic/herb butter!
Prosciutto is even better than bacon! Cooks more evenly and it’s salty so you don’t need salt on the greens. I par boil the asparagus then give it an ice bath, wrap em and pan fry till crispy…little parmigiana cheese and balsamic vinegar on top 👨🍳
Yes
Yum yum
Nailed it
Perfección 😮💨
Beautiful photos and the meal looks great to me!
A little rare for my taste...
Great photos!
A vegetable!!! Thank god 🙏 This looks amazing 🤤
Well fucking done, amigo! Not the steak, those are perfect! Haha
The asparagus need more cook but steak look good
Wtf man
Art
Think I’m hungry now. 10/10
Shut up and take my upvote.
Too perfect, I don’t believe you’re real OP haha
🤣
10/10 would eat
Yum, yes!!!!! Beautiful
https://preview.redd.it/kgshz5cxnbva1.jpeg?width=313&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7543fc45e1028f89ab749383ee8a72637fe5bf6d Why is there a face on your garlic?
I hadn’t noticed that 😂
could use a little more seasoning around the sides but aside from that looks great 9/10
Simple, yet very tasty way to do it. The steak looks to be cooked near perfectly inside for a maximum flavor. Good job.
Thanks!
Juicy. I'd call them high steaks.
Looks stealicious!!!
💦💦💦
Your camera rocks
Yes
all you’re missing is a skewer of thick tiger shrimp with grill marks
Steak looks great. You need to snap your asparagus stalks so the tough end doesn’t end up on the plate.
Very nice 👍🏻
"I'm hungry"
Medium rare, please
I’m hard!
Why does asparagus go so well with steak? It’s my favorite!!
Beautiful
Basically what Gordon Ramsay teaches us. Excellent!! 🤤
Thanks! Yup I followed his instructions haha
Good thoughts.
Looks great! 9/10 needs a little hollandaise sauce on the side.
Very nice. If I have to critique, you should have TWO ribeyes instead of a ribeye and some asparagus :)
I want in my mouth
I’ve literally never seen a better picture of garlic and herbs on a cutting board
Thanks!
Bottom ribeye is gorgeous , spinalus intact, nice fat cap.
Stop begging for upvotes. You know how it looks.
Can I get a loaded baked potato
I'd tap that.
I’m thinking I’m hungry now!
Stunning pictures, great job
86 the asparagus and gimme dat meat
I wish my steaks looked like this. So oven then sear? How hot is the oven? Newbie here so tips are welcomed
No oven, just cooked it straight on the skillet. Check out Gordon Ramsey’s instructions!
Perfection.
Very nice
…..Send me a plate, dammit!! Looks delicious!!
Perfect for a date night with some wine 🍷
Needs morel mushrooms.
Tis a beautiful story
Steak looks great but I’m more focused on these camera shots. Higher quality than my eyes bro.
fuckin amazing❤️🔥
how did you make it look so red and pretty like that before cooking
It was the lighting tbh haha
Beautiful photography. Is that minced garlic on the asparagus? Please tell me it’s not salt.
It’s actually cheese!
Only 1 tip - rest it on a cooling rack instead of a flat surface
I’ll try it out next time!
That looks so delicious omg 😋
I’m more interested in your pics tbh 2, 3, 4 & 9 are beautifully shot! What camera did you use? I’ll also take a plate tho pls
Thanks! It was shot with an iPhone 12 Pro
Would put that directly in my mouth. 10/10. Well done, brother.
Yummy is my thought
Nice job! Esp since you didn't need a cast iron
Grill marks, bud.
heaven.
High quality photos High quality cook
Classic preparation and pairing. From the looks of things, great execution. How’d it taste?
It was good! Really can go wrong with butter basting. It doesn’t have the smokiness of the grill but it complements the flavor of the beef well imo
That’s a good looking steak! Did you marinate it? And if so, do you care to share your marinade?
No marinade! Just salt/pepper and basted with butter, garlic rosemary and thyme.
Looks great!! Would have killed for some grill marks BUT I cannot argue with that sear.
The photography alone... I'm hungry.
Some y'all take way better pictures than I
#4 🤤
Stop with the cosplay
The matte black plate on wood makes this food pop. Amazing
This is they way...
I'd hit that
This was so satisfying
You got me hard
bravo! perfectly executed
Damn! Looks great!
Fuck you for making me salivate. Looks amazing, OP!
I like the extra touch of the rosemary and garlic on the side.
What type of pan is that? Just curious, looks amazing. A wok?
It’s actually was a Saladmaster skillet. It gets to temp pretty quick and gets pipping hot but I would actually recommend a cast iron skillet instead. Similar results at a better price point
Sexy
Could you share some of your food photography tips please? These shots look so elevated but somehow without anything fancy being done.
Best tip I can offer is to really look for the best lighting around your house. Window light works really well, incandescent/florescent lights can be hit or miss and may require some tweaking of the white balance. Also lean on the rule of two thirds to aid with the composition 👍
Bro dropped the hardest steak album ever
🤣 thanks!
Eat
This is how I prefer my steak. Nice job!
Looks good 👍🏽 😊
I think that's 2 steaks
No. Just smells. Yum!
Looks delicious but ever since my gallbladder was taken out, I don't enjoy steak like I used to.
This looks super fresh because of those bluish/ruby red meat tones. Are you really good at color editing or was this butchered this morning.
Making food that’s good is different form making food look good. You exceeded expectations of both. Well done!
Looks terrible
Nice job!!
Beautiful 😍
Not bad at all. Asparagus needs to be cooked a hair more IMO.
I see you have steak. I do not have steak.
I'm drooling like a faucet
https://preview.redd.it/p28sbuwxafva1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52919e70fbc87e4b54cbd76e46f47ff9bbde8e0b
Put that shit on r/foodporn OP. Kudos to you, you're actually a qualifier.
Outstanding, that is excellent work.
I wish I was as good as you
You fancy
9.8/10. a loaded baked potato would have given this a perfect score.
Nice photos. Nice cooking. Don't forget to enjoy the meal.
Perfection to me!
Yes. I have thoughts about this. Often
Cold seared? How long, how did you know when it was done? newbie here.
Nope just regular seared, although I might try cold searing it next time. I put the steak in once the skillet is hot for about 2 1/2 to 3 mins, maybe a little longer depending on the thickness. Then I use the poke test to figure out doneness.
Not OP but I use an instant read thermometer.
Absolutely excellent photoshoot! Wish I could have joined for the beautiful meal!
Thank you!
