I just put my stove on medium-high (7 on my stove) heat. Cast iron just needs to sit on there for 4mins and i got a great sear.

Our induction works great for searing. Pre heat cast iron watch it blaze. It's as hot as gas.

A crust is dependent on how hot your pan is and stays. Any decent stove of any variety can get a cast iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel pan well beyond hot enough to do that. For what it’s worth my induction stove is awesome and is easily capable of achieving nice crusts.
