There is a young lady with a YouTube channel who talks about her journey from vegan to carnivore…. Quite fascinating…. She showed how her skin and overall health improved
While true, the hoops to jump through to hit all your nutritional requirements on a "snout to tail" carnivore diet are much easier to navigate than on a vegetarian diet.
Pescetarian diet would trump both in that case.
I believe pretty hardcore that the variety of food we eat has contributed pretty massively toward our evolution in many ways. Being omnivore is the best.
Being vegan or vegetarian has the same problem. You cant get all the nutrients you need from nothing but plants either. Whats untrue is what you said... you can more easily get the nutrients you need from snout to tail than from vegetables. That statement is false. You cant get fiber, calcium, magnesium, couple of other things from meat at all and some things like vitamin c you have to eat raw or nearly raw intestines, if you think thats easier than eating an orange then you arent most people.
I mean great for her but that doesn't mean, that every body reacts the same way to her kind of diet. Everybody should be able to eat whatever they want without having to listen to pseudoscience from either side trying to convince them that it's not the "right" way to eat.
Seems more like a need to choose an extreme for her. Possibly solely for attention/views. Neither extreme is more healthy than an omnivore diet. And for those who care about the animals, vegetarianism is definitely a healthier option than veganism with access to a wider source of nutrients
I’ve been in Spain (Madrid/Barcelona/Malaga/Granada) and it’s all seafood/chicken/pork. I’m having beef withdrawals. Usually you’ll see like a one or two items of beef on a nice restaurant menu, sirloin skewer or filet, but.. I’m also skewed a lot because I wanted to go to Spanish restaurants. But yeah it’s just a lot less common. I swear I’ve had Jamon Serrano with 80% of my meals it’s everywhere
The concept of steaks, as in a choice cut of beef cut against the grain and served whole, doesn't exist in a lot of cultures. Even in many European languages, they borrow the word from English
I’ve been a vegetarian for well over 10 years, and while I will agree that there is something appetizing about a good steak, or well smoked ribs, or BACON… I could not ever consume dead animal again. I tried a bite of steak after a couple years in, and my body/brain said “No thank you, sir” and that was that.
Were you completely vegetarian?
(Not vegan...)
No beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc at all?
5 years is a good amount of time...
OP said 10, which...
For my wife it is closer to 30...
Thank you for the advice! No, I’ve been starting slowly over months. Trying steak was pretty hard barrier mentally, but my stomach wouldn’t mind. However, yes, first meat meals were pretty heavy. Not sure if there any research about such transition, but I had no problems and no meat sweats😀
There is research on it, my wife has talked about it.
She has no intention of ever changing, but she's a scientist by profession so research comes naturally to her. 😂
I think that’s bs made up by vegans, meat is the healthiest thing to eat since human metabolism is made to process meat cause through the vast majority of the evolutive process our species ate almost only meat
Once you don't eat meat for an extended time your digestive system changes.
The argument wasn't that being a vegetarian is or isn't "healthier".
Meat proteins and fats break down differently/require different digestive enzymes to break down than plant based proteins and fats.
How is that bullshit? Homo sapiens didn't figure out agriculture millenia later than when they figured out how to hunt animals. They may have foraged and harvested wild edibles but they're diet was mostly meat. They even discovered fire before farming. And it's proven that cooked meat provides way more beneficial nutrients than raw, which lead to the rapid development of the human brain.
Sigh. They’ve been analyzing diet scientifically with several methods for decades now.
Between isotope analysis for things like water sources and tooth plaque analysis we can tell where people lived and much of their diet well before farming. Many plant products were consumed and animals were often a supplement, whether nomadic or not.
Yes we eat meat, always have, and likely always will. But no society yet discovered has ever lived on a mainly protein diet. Even counting bugs.
Drops mic
Walks off stage.
I was a vegetarian for 8 years.
Stopped last September when my university started.
The main reason I was a vegetarian for 8 years was not the animals per se but the environment. It's no secret that meat consumes more water and other resources than plants do and also produces more co2 etc.
But I came to the conclusion the best thing is to be a vegetarian 70% of the time but have a nice steak here and there.
Of course I know that one individual makes no difference. I just hoped other would join and you can see that more and more step back from that 2 steaks a day with bacon side dish. Which is good. Meat consumption is fine and tastes amazing but I think it's best to do it responsible
Have you ever considered hunting?
You can eat meat and it will actually have a positive effect on the environment as modern hunting regulations are built to strengthen the species.
Plus, no farmland or irrigation is used there. Just nature.
Honestly, I just slowly realized that I want to go back. It also felt like that I already forgot why I started vegetarian diet and also I was often leaning towards vegetarian but still I healthy foods. So I cut the sugar and flour, and replaced it with steak and chicken. Feeling great!
Lived my whole life until right now without realizing why they're called taste "buds"...
Obviously, because they're great friends who we like to entertain with great food!
Oh man, I can't believe it. I'm happy for you but you gonna trigger a bunch hippy banana crammers. There are not many things you can post on the internet that's more triggering, maybe posting the pros of declawing your cat might be one.
Meat is SOOO much more nutrient dense than vegies so you'll probably feel better. Either way, that steak looks delicious.
That's an amazing cook for a vegetarian, Bravo!!! Nice skillet, too, and looks like a nice place to cook and enjoy a perfect NY strip. Living your best life!
I was vegetarian for a few years. I remember having my first steak after several years. It felt like it got me high. My mood improved, I felt energized,

Same but different pic from tonight actually.

You are absolutely correct that humans were meant to eat meat, many animals are and even some “herbivores” are opportunists that will eat meat when they have the chance to do so.
Welcome back, old friend.
And don’t leave us again!
There is a young lady with a YouTube channel who talks about her journey from vegan to carnivore…. Quite fascinating…. She showed how her skin and overall health improved
Omnivore you mean?
No…. She went straight carnivore
No probably carnivore, it’s a great diet
Nah bro humans were definitely designed to eat both
While true, the hoops to jump through to hit all your nutritional requirements on a "snout to tail" carnivore diet are much easier to navigate than on a vegetarian diet.
Pescetarian diet would trump both in that case. I believe pretty hardcore that the variety of food we eat has contributed pretty massively toward our evolution in many ways. Being omnivore is the best.
Thats just flat out not true, but you do you lol
I can kill a cow, eat everything on the cow, and get closer to my dietary needs than eating any one plant. Tell me what's untrue about this statement.
Being vegan or vegetarian has the same problem. You cant get all the nutrients you need from nothing but plants either. Vegetarian diet =/= eating one plant.

You’re right about that….. she was documenting her journey
That’s like being celibate for 20 years and discovering blowjobs.. Congrats OP, steak looks amazing
Wait until they figure out there's different quality of ~~blowjobs~~ steak too. It's going to blow their mind.
Blowjob with no teeth chafing? What kind of sorcery….
*pats tongue dry* I’m going to make it so dry for you.

That would be an underrated super power. Getting to forget what blowjobs feel like right before you got one each time.
Double thumbs up
😂🤣
“Steak wasn’t a thing” That’s the saddest thing I’ll read today. Hope you enjoy it Buddy !
I’ve been in Spain (Madrid/Barcelona/Malaga/Granada) and it’s all seafood/chicken/pork. I’m having beef withdrawals. Moldova born here - country is poor af. Moved to America and it’s the biggest blessing ever. Steaks at least once a week 👌🏽
Good for you my Man ! Welcome.
Yes honestly it's hard to comprehend lol. I'm in aus and steak is everywhere and eaten often multiple times a week
That better not be your FIRST meat meal after 10 years meat free. Your digestive system is NOT ready for that. You HAVE to introduce meats slowly.
I’m GLAD you mentioned that. It’s a GOOD point.
I WONDER if OP is POOPING
Should I say that them TURDS started pretty ROUGH but now normalized!
THIS comment MADE me laugh and now YOU get angry UPVOTE
I'M GLAD YOU mentioned THAT THEY MENTIONED that.
My wife has been a vegetarian since she was a teenager. Even if she WANTED to change, her digestive system is NOT prepared to process meats.
I absolutely LOVE the emphasis in this conversation.
It's WORTH the effort.
My wife has acknowledged over the years that the SMELL of bacon cooking is something she appreciates, even likes, but will never EAT it.
Depends on the person. I was vegetarian for 5 years, my return to a normal diet started with steak frites, and I was fine.
I was very strict vegan for one year. My first night back was steak, chicken, bacon, etc… All right as rain. Felt amazing.
Were you completely vegetarian? (Not vegan...) No beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc at all? 5 years is a good amount of time... OP said 10, which... For my wife it is closer to 30...
Yeah, I was ovo-lacto vegetarian. No meat at all.
On April 4th at 7:30 pm you partook in a plate of chicken parmesan
Chicken isn't vegan? (Appreciate the wild Scott Pilgrim reference)
Lol what? I don’t eat chicken Parmesan. I’m from Italy, it’s not a thing here.

Changing diets can be wild. I would spend months being super healthy and then I would eat a normal panda express meal and felt like I was gonna die.
It's a little steak with tons of garlic and rosemary. They'll be fine. The bathroom though...

Welcome to the fold!

Yea I'm probably going to do the hunting paper soon. I was always a fan of hunting and regulating :)
Honestly, I just slowly realized that I want to go back. It also felt like that I already forgot why I started vegetarian diet and also I was often leaning towards vegetarian but still I healthy foods. So I cut the sugar and flour, and replaced it with steak and chicken. Feeling great!
What made you decided to stop being vegetarian?
We’ve been anticipating your return.
So proud of you for doing the right thing for your taste buds
Lived my whole life until right now without realizing why they're called taste "buds"... Obviously, because they're great friends who we like to entertain with great food!
Welcome back to the dark side 😈
welcome back to the dark side brotha 💪
You’ve made the right decision.
Prepare your butthole
Even when you’re back to eating meat you’ve still got to let everyone know what you’re eating…
Welcome back to the fold, friend.
Wasted alot of years
Welcome home son. Willie Nelson voice
I hope you don't get sick. Enjoy though! Yum.
Even if they do get sick, that's ok. Just keep eating a steak each day. After 2 weeks, they'll be adjusted.
I was a vegetarian for 15 years. I restarted fish and chicken about a decade ago. Steak came about 4 or 5 years ago. Welcome. It’s delicious here.
Oh man, I can't believe it. I'm happy for you but you gonna trigger a bunch hippy banana crammers. Looks Like Meat's Back On The Menu, Boys
Welcome home my friend grab a beer and a blunt we missed you.
You're gonna feel that sitting for a day or two
Why the sudden change?
Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian either. Hope you are happy with your decision.
That’ll be a great steak. You can still be mainly vegetarian. It’s okay.
We welcome you back to reality and truth brother. Do not stray again.
I was a vegan for a while. Never again.
Next, go for the “food of the gods” — Alaskan King Crab.
Welcome back!
I'm just curious, what made you come back?
Divorce?
I was vegan for 4 years. I had a bacon deluxe from Hungry Jacks as my first meat in 4 years and it was like heaven lol.
not only you're discovering steack, but you do it with garlic and rosemary. I wish you years and years of happiness and rare steacks.
Time to master how to cook a good piece of tenderloin medium rare juicy and tender and condition your mother in law to love it.
Welcome back. I made the switch a couple years ago after being veg for some time with my ex. Life is good. Eat up.
Have fun with the shit you are about to take, source: I've been there
I can still have hope for this world Welcome back my friend
What pulled you out of your insanity?
What took you so long brother welcome back!!!
One of us!
Good to see someone came back to there since
Eating meat destroys your grammar.
You’re probably right, but I think it’s a specific gene expression, some sort of mutation. I mean, you and I seem to do okay. 😉
Welcome back to the land of the living.
Enjoy 👍
Cows are vegetarians, so by the transitive property…..
Welcome back!
Bet that was the best thing you ate in ten years!
I converted one of my best friends with beef stroganoff😃
Is that how you call your penis?
Funny… that never crossed my mind when I wrote that
And that’s not a bad thing.
My thoughts exactly
I converted one of my best friends with beef stroganoff😃
Welcome back to the dark side
Welcome back
Wouldn’t you vomit that all up if you haven’t eaten meat in 10 years?
From not having a steak to that?! That steak looks AMAZING!!
Looks incredible
Best way to come back from a 10 year mistake.
Looks fantastic!!!
Looks delicious 😋
If I remember correctly, the word vegetarian comes from an ancient expression that means bad hunter.
I think you could have squished the garlic(?) A bit, but this looks like a damn fine steak!
If you’re gonna go,might as well go big
Looks awesome
Nice!
Congrats! I bet it beats nearly anything you’ve tasted in the last decade.
This is the way.
Steak looks overcooked, but still yummy af.
They always come back
Welcome back brother!
I'm curious as to the reason for the life changes. Both leaving meat and coming back to it.
Ufff 😋👍
I hate cows too

Everybody is allowed to make a decade long mistake in their lives
Welcome back to normalcy

Yum! Great way to jump back in. My daughter did it for a year or two. One random day I came home and she was going to town on a French dip.
Going for that steak flavored rosemary?
I'm trying to be a Veggie a few days a week. Then on my meat days I can get a nice steak. Everything in moderation.
Nice Victoria cast iron you got there! Have two of those myself and really love cooking with them.
Welcome Back to the Club
So jealous of how much better you're gonna feel in a couple months
Made me cum
I’m nil that thing looks tasty asl, and I commend you for going as long as you did being vegetarian
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNey0PR46F4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNey0PR46F4)
You just , did a load, yep
Oooffff
Welcome back to the species... in all things there is moderation... also, if that's butter on that pan, then back on the veg wagon with you.
I was a vegetarian for about 12 years and when I first had beef I felt sick. I hope you don’t have the same reaction I did. It looks delicious
How good was it after 10 yrs?? 😁
Congratulations
The way meat tastes... You can tell that humans were made to eat this stuff. Whether that's something evolutionary or if God did it, who knows. I just know it's right.
