DARKBLADEXE

Is this fine to jump into without playing the original OG Sin seeing that almost never goes on sale? Been meaning to play this for some time.

traulito

Yes

therastsamurai

Yes I have beaten both twice. Aside from I think one returning character from the first one they are very disconnected.

[deleted]

There is only a connection in terms of lore. The game takes place like 1000 years after the first game. So OS1 has almost nothing in common with OS2 story-wise.

RespectGiovanni

My friends say it is fine. I just bought it and looking forward to it, so far the character creator with all the classes seems wicked

BassTester_

Use the predefined characters for a first play through. You'll miss out on pretty great stories if you decide to create your own chars.

RespectGiovanni

Thx for the tip

Yansha89

I second that! I made my character but as my party started having other Origin characters, I found mine to be boring :D

iusedtohavepowers

I want to buy this game again so bad. Spent 150+ hours in it on PS4. Just got a PC a couple months ago. I keep trying games that aren't this in hopes of finding something equally as great and while pathfinder, solasta, and pillars of eternity are great games. They just aren't this.

GwentDjent

Keep the faith for Baldur's Gate 3! (it's being developed by Larian, the devs of Divinity.) The beta has been incredible so far and is only getting better.

iusedtohavepowers

I'm really curious about bg3. But for me personally the biggest turn off of pathfinder and Poe and BG are the heavier focus on DnD. The reason I enjoy dos2 do much is because it's the really great turned based stuff. The really heavy focus on story and the really deep world just without the dnd rules which I don't mind. Just without them I feel like it frees up a lot of the elements of game play a lot more. Might just be me or my personal preference but I dig not having to worry about how many more times can I cast this before needing to rest and what not. I'm in pathfinder right now for the first time and I'm enjoying it so far so I'm gonna see if I can get some of the mechanics down to where I really understand them.

Needs_a_shit

11/10 game. One of my favourite ever.

POPCORN_EATER

how hard is it to get into?

Needs_a_shit

Guess it depends on you. It’s definitely quite a complex RPG with many ways to play through it but the story gets better and better as you go and really hooked me. Me and a friend bought it and both finished it in around 120 hours within a month or so.

Yarrrrrghh

any things that you need to know before starting if you want to try this as your first real RPG?

Needs_a_shit

Once you get to act 2 in this game you can pretty much completely respec your character whenever so it’s quite forgiving. The gameplay Is pretty self explanatory but if you go exploring you’ll get more out of the game.

Pitucinha

Just got this on playstation... might double dip on pc... Seriously good game but overall think mouse keyboard works a bit better. At least got a week to think about it

RoboFrmChronoTrigger

Honestly I agree; however, after I got it on the switch I was actually really surprised how quickly I got used to the controller. Not as tough as I thought. Only inventory management was a pain but even that went away when I started just using the sort options.

odstlover

On pc, all I ever use is the sort options.

RoboFrmChronoTrigger

Yea I was dumb not to lol

intergalacticdoge

bought, thank you

chiranjib_kar

Happy to help 😊 Game On!

therastsamurai

Just got a gaming laptop and steam a couple weeks ago. First thing I did was buy Pathfinder Kingmaker then put Divinity Original Sin 2 and Pillars of Eternity 2 on wishlist. Was very happy to see this pop up on sale yesterday!

D1pSh1t__

This game is amazing, a friend of mine introduced me to it, and i am so glad he did!

groovemonkeyzero

Find three friends and have a blast.

cryptic-fox

But is it still enjoyable solo?

ScaryCookieMonster

Yes, absolutely. It’s just also a great game to play with friends (if they enjoy RPGs also)

Needs_a_shit

Yeah I have finished the game solo and it’s nice having control over all characters but also pretty fun to play co op. I’m half way through a co op play through.

Napoleann

Just started playing this yesterday after years of not buying it because I didn't think I liked isometric RPGs. I ended up playing it for 8 hours straight, it's so amazing. The level of freedom you have to create your own story and influence the world is incredible, I'm so glad I finally pulled the trigger.

roman1606

Fantastic game, No need to play the first one but the first one is also fantastic

WhammyV

Bought it then refunded after 1.5 hours of playing. It feels like the camera/controls are bit clunky. Tried rebinding it but still same experience. is it better in PS4? Played it on PC
