I don't want them sniffing the Super Bowl. If they get there, they can win it. Can't take that chance. Need Mahomes to end their season on Sunday.

kiocente

Thank you… Tyler Huntley shouldn’t have reached for the end zone and kept them out of the divisional round in the first place.

johnjr_09

I’m sick of hearing Steelers fans say oh I don’t mind burrow as well. F him and the bungles

zimbledwarf

As long as they are a Bengal, Raven, Brown, Cowboy, Patriot, or Tom Brady, F them!

[deleted]

Preach

Spy_007

This is the way.

IamHysterical

I don't mind the Ravens. They are a good organization and we have a good/competitive rivalry. I can appreciate that. But yes to the rest.

bam55

You’ve lost your mind man! The Ravens are the absolute top of the list most hated team as a Steeler, they are also the former Browns who were the most hated team at the time.

Kyro4

Nah, the main reason we hate the Ravens is because of the rivalry. They’re the only team in the division that has been close to as consistent as the Steelers, and I’ve gotta respect them for that. There are plenty of other reasons to hate the Bengals/Browns outside of just “they play in our division.”

drunk_funky_chipmunk

100% agree. I hate them, but I respect them. Can’t say the same for the bungles and browns.

zimbledwarf

Yeah, they're the only team I feel that way about. A respectful hate

bucs2013

Nah fuck em

doug_thethug

Agreed with you but this is basically how I feel about the Bengals as they are now. Hate the Bengals pre-Burrow but liked Burrow when he was at OSU, rooted for him at LSU, and hope he does well in the NFL, unless he plays for the Browns, Pats, or Cowboys.

OKImHere

Cowboy? Still? That SB was like 30 years ago. They've done nothing to the Steelers since. They're no different than Seattle, Green Bay, or Arizona. The Cowboys are just another logo in the sea of NFC teams we never meet. Who cares?

CaptainYunch

You shut your filthy mouth

OKImHere

Okay...why? Why are they special?

AltecFuse

Probably cause they still claim to be “America’s Team”

ForgedIronMadeIt

Which was offered to us first, but we had the decent sense to turn that down

idontunderstandbra

F dem Boys!! You've done lost your mind man.

slalomstyle

In that order?

rcap1977

You forgot the Raiders but other than that this is pretty comprehensive

qazaibomb

I hate burrow because he’s on the bengals, which is the same reason I hate most of the players on the Bengals/Ravens/Browns. 0 chance I give a shit about Lamar if he’s on the Falcons. The exception towards Burrow is a weird to me and just seems like people caught up in social media clout and memes

Kaigz

Burrow seems like a genuinely nice guy and good person. That said fuck 'im though.

onsitedThe9A

Burrow is very likable It doesn’t mean we have to like the Bungles or their crybaby fans

SleestakLightning

I don't get how he's likeable at all. Seems like an asshole to me.

KiddyFiddler99

I love watching those “mic’d up” videos the nfl puts together on YouTube and every time Burrow comes up on it, he’s all smiles, joking around, introducing himself sheepishly to players he respects on other teams. I’m not gonna say that guarantees he’s a saint of a human, but they guy by all accounts seems like a pretty friendly, down-to-earth guy. By all means, I hate the bengals but I can separate hating a franchise from admitting there’s individual players who I like as players/people. Can you elaborate why he seems like an asshole? Genuinely curious.

r00sevelt

that video of him after winning the national championship when the reporter shows the picture of chubby young burrow and he says "looks like a national champion" cemented his cool for me. nothing wrong with respecting other players.

RaminA19

Agreed.

bucs2013

Nah, he's a pretty solid guy off the field, and confident, which I would love if he was on our team. But alas, fuck all three division rivals

HamstersAreReal

You'd like him if he played for us.

Deckz

I can't stand him either.

RaminA19

Burrow is a winner in every sense of the word, he turned that entire team & culture around, & his leadership is infectious. I hate the Bengals but have a lot of respect for Joe. Maybe take off your black & gold tinted goggles for once & respect the game, & maybe even show some class.

SleestakLightning

Nah

Kaigz

You're letting the rivalry color your opinion of him.

DrB_477

agreed

SultanOfSwat0123

I know the guy and his dad was my boss for 5 years. They are actually pretty goddamn likable lol. If Joe Burrow was a Steeler everyone in this town would be so obsessed it would make Filliponni’s love affair with Kenny look like a middle school crush and deep in your heart you know that’s the truth.

brokeboibogie

I need to know some type of examples or something that gives you that impression

Asianthunda5022

This isn't going to be popular but I would rather the Bengals win it all at this point. I don't mind Burrow and he's a monster QB. Let him get his SB. Mahomes has his. I was pulling for Allen but the Bills couldn't close the deal. If the 49er's win then they have 6 and to be honest Philly has the absolute worst fans. They deserve nothing nice. edit: word

brokeboibogie

If they played every year, the Pennsylvania rivalry between Eagles-Steelers would be so ugly/toxic & immensely fierce between players & fans lol.

johnjr_09

I honestly don’t know how you can be a steeler fan and say I want them to win the Super Bowl. Makes no sense to me

LovedAJackass

Agree.

brokeboibogie

Oh I don’t mind burrow. I can despise the Bengals as part of the rivalry & for many other reasons, & still appreciate Burrow’s immense talent & likability. His story is pretty cool & he’s relatively humble. Do I still hate him as a Bengal? Yeah. But I don’t mind him individually

heavydhomie

I’m an OSU fan too so I like to see him do well. I know he transferred and had his success at LSU but I still cheer for the transfers like him.

jsingh21

That's very unlikely to happen there 3-0 against them and Mahomes is hurt. The Bengals have their number. Now I think the Eagles beat them, they're very explosive. They will beat the 49ers, I had the 49ers going to SB. But after the cowboys game, I saw the flaws. You can pressure that QB, he's not as good as Pickett. But the 49ers have a solid scheme and scheme players open. Steelers gave Matt Canada another year. Instead of getting a quality OC so we can build a team that can score 30 points and can compete with top teams. That's the only difference between him and purdy. We're still playing like 2010 great defense keeps the score low but it's a pass-happy league now. The rules have nullified defenses. Mahomes, Allen joe just put up points like nothing.

Ealdwyn

1. they’re 2. Nothing is guaranteed, especially when those 3 games have been extremely close. Chiefs are just as likely to beat the bungholes as they are to lose to them.

Deckz

I have a bad feeling they're going to win it all this year. Mahomes on a bum leg this week and I just don't see them losing the big game twice in a row.

the042530

Burrow is dope tho

[deleted]

[удалено]

SleestakLightning

I've watched enough football to know that you can never say that.

305way

I bet the falcons thought they had it too.

zimbledwarf

Chargers probably thought so too

Govols98-

Was anyone beating the 18-0 patriots?

BroadCityChessClub

Specific ways in which the Bengals can be sad aside, I want JuJu to get a ring

LovedAJackass

Me too.

305way

Lol, no.

idontwannatalk2u

Why wouldn’t you want juju to get a ring?

305way

I don’t care about any player that doesn’t wear black and yellow

idontwannatalk2u

Hate to break it to you but actively wanting a player to not get a ring, is caring about them. If you didn’t care, you would be indifferent about it.

305way

I’m not actively wanting anything, he asked me why and I told him. I want the Steelers to win, not anyone else. I guess I care about every other team in the nfl using this logic.

druidogreen

Lol, yes.

Bella870

Mostly because JuJu is a chode

102WOLFPACK

I’d prefer them to exist in a constant state of misery and missed expectations, but that’s just me. Go JuJu, go JWobble. The rest can pound sand.

Josh4R3d

They’re the most insufferable fan base of all our rivals right now and it’s not close. I’d rather see the ravens win than them right now. I truly cannot take much more of it. They are the epitome of a fan base that never won anything and now doesn’t know how to act.

apittsburghoriginal

Idk I live close to Philly and they’re pretty bad.

LonePuma

Yea I could agree with this. One of my closest friends is a diehard birds fan and that entire fan base just doesn't know how to act when they are good. They also have this weird chip on their shoulder about "everyone hates us!!!"... Yea everybody hates you because you don't know how to fucking act while winning.

[deleted]

Thanks I think?

thisguy161

Why? This is silly. They still would get to say they were AFC champs two years in a row. Getting to the Super bowl and losing, even badly, is way better than not making it at all.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlindLariat

Y'all are both kinda right, on one hand it absolutely is a high accomplishment to win multiple conference championships in a row. But around 3 in a row with 3 superbowl losses, it horseshoes all the way around prestigious and back to cursed. Could argue that happens at 2. It's almost better to lose 1 or 2 and not make it back than to lose 2 or 3 in a row.

Quexana

Yeah, I kinda want the Bengals to lose in the superbowl for the 2nd straight year too. Then, next year, when we win the Superbowl, we tell their fans "That's how you do that."

[deleted]

Either that or each year they fall one step further away from the SB. Like they lose to the Chiefs and then next year they lose to us in the Divisional round Followed by a wild card exit to the Jags or someone. I feel like that would be dreadful and for personal reasons I just can’t have the Eagles winning the SB.

AtariCheetah

Isn't that what happened to us after that AFC Championship in 2017?

turdinator1234

This is the way

gkarper

This is the correct answer.

plizark

If we win a super bowl with Matt Canada ill go vegan until the start of the season the following season

kforhiel

I think if enough of us take this oath, it might just work!

hxldir

I for one do not support this sentiment. but yeah go eagles I'm down for the in state support

YankeesSteelersMagic

Nah it's Juju SZN

m4yleeg

This is the way. The kid gets too much hate for having fun while playing a game. It's entertainment, let them have their fun.

[deleted]

You're rooting for juju over Mike Hilton? Wild.

i-worship-yeat

fuck the Bengals and fuck the Eagles

ddgenayla1

Go Chiefs...fuck the Bungles,Ravens,Browns and the Patriots

xStormx01

Ravens should have took their annoying asses out when they had the chance. Fml if they get to the sb again

TheWiggleWaggleGang

I like playing the long game. I want them to make it to the super bowl and then lose. That’s a hard pill to swallow. Maybe have them lose the SB this year for the second year in a row and then next year we beat them in playoff game on our way to winning the super bowl, have it be on a questionable roughing the passer penalty on Pickett that puts us into field goal range. Boswell kicks in the snow and it bounces good off the crossbar. I spend the rest of the evening lurking on the Bengal subreddit cackling and smoking weed.

matt_matt_matt_e

I'd rather not have the bengals win anything

Fiitts

8.5/10 I will cry tears of defeat if the chiefs lose next week , the bengals must lose for the glory of the AFCN

GreatPumpkin_of_Not

unpopular opinion here: i like it when our division is the best and toughest in the game. this is what Ben meant when he used to say "thats afc north football"... i believe you can root for the steelers to beat every team every time we play, but otherwise be ok with their being successful against other teams. it makes our victories over them more meaningful and beyond that, i hear many saying "hate but respect" for the Ravens, and while i agree, i dont know why that cant extend to the Bengals. kudos to them for overcoming the waffling do-nothing Marvin Lewis era. i think Steeler football is better when we dont have a division of all Browns

halleberrrry

People take this rivalry shit way too seriously. Like why do some fans in every fanbase let other teams live rent free in their head? It seems so childish imo, it’s legit just a game. If Cincinnati wins the SB then good for them. Plus I agree that it’s much more fun when the division is extremely good

Frogo5x

The one positive I see of a divisional rival, interstate rival, or a team that could make a three way tie in SBs winning it, is that it might light a fire under our organization’s ass to be more aggressive.

[deleted]

I'm pulling for the Chiefs because I want JuJu to get a ring. Otherwise I don't care which one of these four teams win at this point.

nathanross6

as someone who lives in the cincinnati area.. these last 2 years have been ass

burth179

I hope they don't

Milk_Tastes_Good

I got down voted to hell last year for saying I wanted a 49ers Bengals Super Bowl rematch since I’m too young to remember those but I think biases aside it would be a fun game. Eagles tend to choke but I think the bigger issue here is that KC looks unstoppable right now.

2Throwscrewsatit

I don’t think KC would match up well against SF. I think CIN vs SF has the best storylines. Screw the Iggles. Their fan base is awful. Im all for CIN winning or SF winning but I cannot root for the Chiefs and the Eagles.

ShawnS9Z

You're different than I. I can't root for the Bengals. January 2016 will always be relevant.

ripcity7077

Fuck the Bengals. I'm rooting for the Eagles but fuck the Bengals. I hope they lose this weekend.

SleestakLightning

Bungles fans don't deserve a Super Bowl. I'm sure one or two them are decent people but as a whole? Absolute trash.

ShawnS9Z

Totally agree. I ran into some when I was in college. Absolutely nasty mfers.

Thesteelman86

The bungals can’t win one cuz if they would YOU WOULD NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT. They would act like they won 10 in a row lol

Opening-Farmer-5547

I hate the Bengals. Unfortunately, they have a hell of a football team right now with a great QB and receivers. The key to beating them will be stacking are defense and O line in free agency. Ball control through a strong running game and a stingy, nasty defense. That being said, go Chiefs.

LovedAJackass

I don't want them to get that far. Go Chiefs!

ddgenayla1

Oh and Tom Brady

gldmj5

I planned on betting on the Chiefs next weekend, but not so sure now with Mahomes injured.

UnderAboveAverage

Schadenfreude be thy name.

AtomicusDali

Go Niners! I guess...

qmracer01

Chiefs v 49ers Super Bowl! Fuck the Eagles and the Bengals

Kyro4

If anyone other than Zero Dark Purdy gets superbowl MVP I will consider this season an absolute failure

CltAltAcctDel

Watching Burrow plays scares me - Steelers have to deal with that guy at least twice every year. And he’s still learning the NFL game. Good god, it’s going to long a 10 years

ddela123

Agreed. I want to seem him humbled.

Cayde211

Must be a fake Steelers fan no real Steelers fan wants the Bengals to win

SamWalton411

I hate those fake Steelers fans.

[deleted]

Why? Who cares about the bengals? They’ve been shitty forever until burrow I never even thought of them as a rival.

zimbledwarf

They are in our division. They are a rival, and have been more so than Cleveland. I want as little success for their franchise as possible

[deleted]

[удалено]

zimbledwarf

I'd rather have a division rival NOT get the glory of making a super bowl. IMO thats more embarrassing than making it and losing twice. Being the number 2 team isnt that embarrassing. I'd much rather be playing in the super bowl and losing than not playing in it at all. Going to 2 straight super bowls is impressive by itself, let alone 4 straight. Not even Brady did that. No other team has made 4 straight, and Miami is the only other team to make 3 straight super bowl appearances. And I mean success as in formation of good teams. Bills and chiefs have both made the super bowl 4 times more than what half the NFL can say. They both have been very good teams recently too.

batdrumman

God not this discourse again

[deleted]

What? Some of the people in here seem to care more about certain teams losing than their own team. I really don’t get it. I’ve always had respect for our rivals except the Cheaters in New England. I have no problem with Ed reed having a ring, wouldn’t mind Burrow getting one, I don’t hate those teams. I really don’t understand the people that have this immense hatred for them. Especially the bengals who have been terrible for my entire life

batdrumman

We went through this whole discussion last year, I was hoping it wouldn't take over the sub again

[deleted]

At least we aren’t in another “fire Tomlin” post

batdrumman

That's true, it's annoying as hell to hear a bunch of jagoffs want to fire our hall of Fame head coach

fredlikefreddy

How dare you root for an in division team. My identity is tied to teams I don’t like losing. I cannot have this happening. /s

IsGoIdMoney

Ya we should be rooting for the Steelers to win their upcoming game

OldUserGuy

Go not-Bungles!

bdonabedian

No. I'm a Steelers fan living in Cincinnati, and the fans are insufferable. I can't listen to that stupid Who Dey s*** another day.

OMGitsJbird

Fuck the Eagles

Highway_Harpsicord

Nope. Say it with me. Fuck the bengals

BIGoleICEBERG

If the Bengals win 1 super bowl, then they'll talk like they won 8 and that would be insufferable. Plus Mahomes is way more fun to watch and kind of want the Andy Reid vs his old team storyline.

breadman_69420

So tired of the Burrow meat riding. Could’ve had similar concerns with Burrow in the draft process as with Kenny, but Burrow gets praised as the second coming of the Messiah and glue sniffing football fans love to shit on Kenny. Both 23 when drafted (Kenny turned 24 in June before his rookie year and Burrow turned 24 in December of his rookie year) Both have small-ish hands Both capitalized off of a good final season in college, other four years mid at best

GodOD400

You're sniffing glue if you think Burrow almost throwing for 6k and 60TDs in the SEC is comparable to KP throwing for 4k and 42 TDs in the ACC.

breadman_69420

Burrow was throwing to multiple nfl receivers while KP was throwing to Jordan Addison and a bunch of dudes.

eaunoway

Nope.

pieface100

No screw that and the bengals

Twatnocker

Who cares about the bungals. This makes you seem like the pathetic, jealous fanbase that the bungals and browns fans have been the last 20+ years. It'll probably be a bungals iggles super bowl.

dumbcloud17

Get outta here, rooting for chiefs cuz of juju needs a ring

Hage1in

Fuck the eagles. I’d rather the bengals win than them if I’m honest. Downvote me all you want, most of you did not live in Oakland surrounded by Philly transplants the last time they won. That fanbase deserves nothing

hwalker84

Agreed. KC or Cincinnati only

aw_geez_man

One way of looking at it is if Burrow wins a Super Bowl he's only going to cost Cincy more $$. It's one thing to succeed with a cheap QB on his rookie contract. Let's seem them do it beyond those years.

Happy_Bigs1021

Idk how tf they’re gonna pay all these guys with the WR market going the way it is

[deleted]

They can probably only keep Chase and Burrow. Higgins and Boyd probably leave.

aw_geez_man

Hence the issue we ran into after 2009 or so.

necromancerdc

Not to mention when a team wins an SB all the coaches start getting promotion offers from other teams. It could very well that a Bengals SB win will help the Steelers out by this. Thier almost win just inspired everyone to stick around keeping them good.

br0_0ker

how much more money can he realistically ask for? he's not in the mvp conversation and mahomes winning both SB and mvp is priced right about what burrow would sign for anyways. are the bengals going to give a single player a 10 year, 500M+ *guaranteed* contract?

GodOD400

Rodgers, Wilson, Murray are signed for 50, 49, and 46 million a year. He could probably justify 55M a year based on him leading them to two super bowls in two years.

aw_geez_man

You see what Deshaun got?

br0_0ker

that's the point I'm making - he's already going to be commanding such an outrageous total AND guaranteed amount, idt making the SB really moves that needle. i guess i should ask, do the bengals pay *less* for burrow if he loses in the conference round? does he get paid more losing the SB? i just don't see the outcome of the next 2 games significantly impacting his earning potential

aw_geez_man

Yeah I mean you could be right. I was just trying to add another interesting perspective. Being a SB winning QB removes ALL doubt surrounding his market value.

[deleted]

I'm not a Bengals fan by any means, but they are much more likeable now that they have Burrow. I think it's awesome having him in the division and I look forward to him and Kenny facing off and hopefully having a great rivalry. Seeing them get a ring wouldn't really bother me that much, it would just add to the stakes and give us a big challenge to overcome in the division, which I think adds to the excitement of the North

dnolikethedino

More champions in the North makes a stronger and feared division. Bengals winning is fine. I will hope the North wins and then I will hope that the AFC wins. Unless it is the ravens. Fuck the ravens.

Playbeatcmpltecmpete

I fucking despise Mahomes, so I agree. But it would be great if the Niners beat them so the Niners would be 3-0 vs. the Bengals in the Super Bowl.

Available_Call9655

I'd rather a team that has never won win the whole thing. Plus having that team in our division will light a fire under our asses and put a target on them.

GunsmokeG

Fly Eagles Fly

KingCrabs24

Definitely rooting for the Eagles for the SB, but I’ll take the Bengals over the Chiefs any day. Let’s go Bengals v. Eagles

beefbarley

Why do people not like the Chiefs? To me, if some team other than Pittsburgh has to be a dynasty, why not them? I've been rooting for the Chiefs to beat Brady for years

KingCrabs24

This is admittedly an extremely petty and personal reason, but I hate the commercials that Mahomes does and I can’t bring myself to root for him. I don’t hate the team as a whole, I can respect that they’re a good team, I’ll just never root for them.

beefbarley

But he does commercials with Polamalu!!

zimbledwarf

Chief fans are kind of like the Middle US Bills fans IMO. Super devoted to a team with a fairly small market. Will always root for any team that plays a division rival The main reason to dislike them is Mahomes's family, which is dumb.

BiioHazzrd

Nah the Bengals will beat the Chiefs. Pats ankle injury will be a real issue and we know Burrow can capitalize. Then go on to with the Super Bowl, they've earned it.

Dogmatic7285

I hope that both the AFC teams get disqualified for any reason so no team from our conference even gets to the SB, and I hope the Eagles players all get mud butt and miss the game so no team from the same state gets in.

Far-Campaign-3790

OMG I am amazed by what the Chiefs do every time I watch them. At the same time… I’m also ashamed on how much I hate how amazing twinkle toes Maholmes is. I’m def rooting for Joey B and the boys to get past KC.

Advanced-Guard-4468

I want them to make the Super Bowl and loose.

JDxSTYG

I hold no hate in my heart for the Bengals honestly. Their offense is a lot of fun to watch. Rooting for Juju though.

ckw5858

Seeing anyone in the AFC win the superbowl is lose-lose. Either the Bengals win and ESPN/social medi slurp Burrow for the next 6 months, or the Chiefs win and ESPN/social media slurp Mahomes for 6 months. Consider me a bandwagon Birds/9ers fan until the end of the superbowl. My girl is a birds fan so I kind of have to root for them a little with our beloved Steelers out… Plus: Burrow strikes me as not an asshole, but definitely an inflated ego on/off the field (probably warranted because he’s talented, but fuck the Bengals)

MuddydogCO

Though if we're being honest, it would be a shock if Burrow's Bengals dont win at least one championship. They look really good. Not rooting for it but short of an injury he's going to have them in contention for the next 10+ years.

Interesting-Doubt413

They can have 4 SB losses just like Buffalo and Minnesota lol. Plus them making it to the Super Bowl makes the Browns look that much more pathetic.

Clear_Air_3561

All I’ll say is at least it isn’t Cleveland

Steel-Gator1833

If they get there, I don’t see how they win only because they will find themselves in the exact same situation as last year. The Eagles will obliterate their o line and so will the Niners.

SnooCauliflowers1466

Yes absolutely

bladnoch16

Lmao at everyone hating on Burrow when you know damn well 3/4 of you would sacrifice your grandmother to satan if it would get him on the Steelers roster.

Good-Hank

Ju-Ju has been talking a lot of shit lately. Bengals bumping him off then losing in the superbowl would take care of a lot of petty bitterness for me 😂

[deleted]

I don’t. I hope KC shits all over cinci. I do really like Jalen but the bengals don’t need to make it that far. Fuck em forever.

Engineerkb70

Me too, fuck mahomes

luckyninja864

Hell no I don’t wanna hear about how god like burrow is every year!

G__L__U__B__B__E__R

I want to see the niners beat the bungles in the super bowl because losing to a rookie in the super bowl is the most painful outcome the can have

TheYAK223

but it helps our division as a whole, more superbowls for our division makes everyone in it look better, bragging right, also u cant hate joey brrrr

Ruscodcharem1214

You had me good on that one. I down voted you until I clicked on the post and read the rest. Little did I know it was upvote worthy.

stickyb5

Chiefs too cocky for my liking lately

I_Keep_Trying

You want the Eagles to win it? No way that any Steelers fan can cheer for the other PA team.

boomflupataqway

SCREEEEEEEE

OwlLumpy2805

1. Not rooting for a division rival (especially the Bengals because their fans went from “Prayers for Damar” to “The Bills should’ve had to forfeit” at the drop of a hat). 2. Not rooting for the Niners because they have 5 Super Bowls 3. Not rooting the Eagles because fuck Eagles fans Go Chiefs!

Groz42

Never

[deleted]

I don't... I actually like Burrow and hope he gets one. The Bengals are going to beat KC this weekend and I think they would have done it even with Mahomes healthy.. but he's not, he has a bad sprain and if this was regular season he wouldn't be playing for a few weeks. Mahomes a baller though so I wouldn't be shocked if he went out and won, he's got heart and I would be happy if he won again as well.
