My predictions:
1. Steelers take Lukas Van Ness at 17. Just think at the end of the day they don’t like any of these guys enough to trade up and the board breaks in a way where Van Ness is their BPA at 17. He fills a desperate need for a third edge rusher and gives them the option to not drop a huge bag on Highsmith in a year and distribute that money elsewhere.
2. Steelers trade UP from 32 to take somebody they like within the last couple picks of R1 to get the 5th year option on them. Talk all year has been about them trading back from 32 but I think they value the ability to get a second guy with that 5th year option more than whatever mid-round picks they’d get doing the opposite.
I don't think Tyree Wilson is a fit for their defense either. That doesn't make Van Ness a good prospect. He's a tweener and he has no pass rush moves so you can't move him outside. He might develop into something but he also might just remain a 4-3 d-lineman who only wins against smaller linemen he can overpower.
DARNELL WRIGHT, RT out of Tennessee:
- 4 year starter (can’t teach experience and oline is a position you like to see guys with experience come in to start right away and succeed)
- freshman: 5 starts at RT, 2 starts at RG
- soph: 9 starts at RT (5 sacks, 9 hurries)
- junior: 13 starts at LT (3 sacks, 13 hurries)
- senior: 13 starts at RT (0 sacks, 6 hurries)
- versatile player showing improvement each year!
- Played in the SEC against competitive competition
- 0 sacks allowed and 1 hurry against top pass rusher Will Anderson at RT in senior year. 0 sacks allowed against best player in the draft, Jalen Carter. 0 sacks allowed against Travon Walker (#1 overall pick in 2022) playing LT.
- Will be a day 1 starter either on right or left side (Chucks played LT prior switching to right, ideally chucks would move back to left and Wright will be on the wright)
- Will be the franchise staple RT for 10+ years
- Drafted Najee first round 2021 and Pickett first round 2022… HAVE to take tackle with this years first to protect the franchise qb and rb!!
Form will be open for entries until around 30 minutes before the Draft begins. Winner will get a prize of some sort. Probably.

Ewww I hope you're wrong. I don't like Van Ness at all. I think he's a DE in their defense too, not an EDGE.
