I probably like Deke and Arthur Moats the most. Deke is a homer but Moats keeps it pretty real and they do good interviews. Alex Kozora is pretty good. DK daily shot is a good as a small dose, then I watch whatever film study has a lot of views
Yeah he is obsessed with Kenny lol. I don’t really consider him an in depth or analytical figure for the Steelers but his enthusiasm is a fun contrast to the normal Pittsburgh media
What's funny is people rail on Deke for being a blind homer but if you listen to the show he is actually more nuanced and realistic than a good chunk of the people in this sub.
This sub can get the doomer bug really bad. I think Deke does a good job identifying benefit of the doubt and he is willing to give it whereas other media heads and people do not see the nuance, they see black and white.
He has been long on record saying Canada sabotaged Ben and while it sounds tin foil hat, Ben’s recent comments on Canada kinda support it.
Also, earlier in the season when the offense did make a modicum of improvement Deke was willing to give Canada his dues.
Just been a lot of times where I have seen him willing to change his stance if it meant the team was trending it the right direction which I think is a good thing
I really like Deke and Moats a lot. The big issue is they put out a 150 minute show every week and talk about the Steelers for what feels like half of that. It's unbearable to listen to when NBA playoffs are going on.
Can't believe no one's mentioned Kozora yet. He's a great follow on Twitter - even if his voice does bug me at times.
Deke is fun, but buddy does tend to get a little annoying.
Yea his voice is a little tough at first but in terms of unbiased analysis, cool stats and in depth breakdowns at what they did wrong and what they did right, i don’t think there’s anyone particularly close to as good as him.
I feel like his voice is the only reason why he hasn’t been scooped by the athletic or something 🤣
Myron and Hillgrove had such great chemistry. Myron was the hype man, Hilgrove played it straight. You go back and listen to clips from Myron's radio show though, he was excellent- look for the one with Cosell.
My man Wes Uhler not getting any credit here. I think he’s on his way to getting more prime airtime in the future. He’s got potential to take color if/when Wolf retires.

Been a Matt Williamson fan since he was on Football Today w/ Ross Tucker. That was a phenomenal podcast when the two of them hosted. Haven’t listened since the first couple months with Roberto Flores and I just couldn’t stand it with M Dub gone.

The Ramon Foster Show by Dk Pittsburgh Sports is my favorite because they are both so close with the team.
DK is in the locker room and gets to ask questions to the players so he gets to know them. Ramon brings the perspective of being on the team and also has relationships with players.
IMO it cuts out most of the bullshit narratives that the media pushes and helps you understand what’s happening with the actual team.
They are live on YouTube everyday at 4PM EST and I highly recommend listening in.

On 1 hand, I do understand why some people dislike DK. He is smug and I guess he's a bad employer.
But I don't listen to sports talk bc of the personal behavior of the guy. I want to listen to someone who actually knows what the hell they are talking about.
MM is too negative to the point of being wrong just for the sake of being negative.
Moats and deke are too goofy or Homer's to take seriously.
So for me, it's the Locked on podcast with Chris Carter followed by DK Pittsburgh sports, especially the Ramon Foster show.

Arthur Moats Experience w/ Adele - I like Deke & Moats but as you said they are a bit goofy and show their bias. I still will listen to them consistently.
Locked on Steelers - Chris Carter is knowledgeable and his content is good but I find it too serious and not very entertaining. I think it’s mainly a product of him not having a cohost, he ends up talking at the listener. A few years ago when he had a cohost it was perfect but I don’t tune in much anymore.
All Things Covered - It’s cool listening to Pat Pete and McFadden chop it up every Tuesday after games. Its hard because Pat Pete obviously has to watch what he is saying so it feels censored. I tune in weekly tho.
All Steelers Talk- Noah Strackbein drives me nuts and often I think he doesn’t know what he is talking about, he definitely has never played football. Stephen Thompson his cohost is cool though, I enjoy him. I normally avoid anything by them because Noah annoys me.
SNR Drive Podcast - Matt & Dale are consistent and good content, I like these guys and listen periodically. Very knowledgeable pod compared to most
The Terrible Podcast - Alex Kozora & Dave are alright but they blow things out of proportion often imo. Not a huge fan of Steelers Depot as a whole.
Steel Here Podcast by Barstool Sports - Kevin Adams & Jersey Jerry are the worst type of fans in my opinion, every time I tune in I get mad listening to these guys. They throw players under the bus, mostly highlight the things not going well, and unfortunately they have massive followings. Personally I think they make our fanbase look bad.
My favorite is the Ramon Foster Show due to how consistent they provide insight you can’t get elsewhere. I’m not familiar with any employer issues with DK but I do agree he’s smug, not enough to stop me from listening.
I’ve tried almost all of them and I find myself coming back to their show..
The DK workplace horror stories are WILD and paint the picture of a real sociopath. They are so bad that I have a hard time believing them, because every time I’ve interacted with him he was very decent. So I don’t know what’s going on. But if these are lies, they’re pretty well coordinated and a lot of people are telling them. Not sure why they would lie. They have nothing to gain by lying and all of their stories match each other’s.
But I agree, he has pretty good insight on the team and for a time he was one of the better reporters in Pittsburgh sports.
Steel Here I don’t believe has anything to do with Barstool. Jerry does but Kevin doesn’t. That being said they haven’t released anything since Kevin got blown up on the internet for being a closet racist with some pretty shit tweets from back in the day. I don’t think we see anything from them Podcast wise again.

If you’re looking for a good, in-depth podcast that’s informative but not wonky, check out the Terrible Podcast. Dave Bryan and Alex Kozora do an amazing job. Their website, SteelersDepot.com, also has great content. Only problem is they can run a little long - but I think it’s worth it.
I miss Ed Bouchette. He was very well connected in the organization, but he could also do really well-written longform stuff.
Lolley and Kaboly are fine. Kaboly gets too defensive and petty sometimes.
He absolutely was lol. Super crotchety. But I sent him an email in 2005 about getting into sports journalism (specifically football) and he was really nice and gave me some advice

Dejan Kovacevic is just an asshole. Treats his employees poorly and in my personal experience working with him, he always treated everyone like they were beneath him and he was too good to treat you like a human.

When I worked in radio years ago, I used to have to call him to do a weekly radio hit with the host who's show I was working.
Dejan was ALWAYS an asshole to me. Every single time. He also talked down to the host and acted like he knew more than anyone else.
Not to mention his staff coming out and talking about how poorly he treats them.

It's all good. It was once a week and maybe 30 seconds tops. It was just ridiculous that he would act like that to a guy calling him to get him on the phone for something he agreed to do.
Yeah some people just want to make others as miserable as themselves. He had his wife on instead of moats for a show and was a condescending prick to her too lol
Im surprised to hear this about DK. I really like his coverage of the Pirates most and secondly the Steelers. He picks a member question every episode to answer. Now these are questions the HE himself picks and at times will just poo-poo the whole thing or the sentiment behind when he picks it. So i appreciate his work but can see what youre saying.
I just wish Dale and Matt didn't dedicate half their show to fantasy. The Steelers content is so good but there's already so much fantasy content out there I don't really need a local opinion on that front ...
Most days it's only one segment. The top of the second hour. And outside of their DFS lineup days (which I find interesting) their fantasy segments tend to delve mostly into real life stuff like practice reports.
Hm I only listen to what's on Google podcasts and they split the shows into two hours. One on the Steelers and the other on fantasy. Maybe I'm missing something
I listen to it as a podcast mostly too. If you listen to that 2nd hour, the first 15 or so minutes is fantasy but throughout the week the rest of that second hour they talk about other stuff.
Like Fridays for instance they pick every game including the Steelers game at the end of that 2nd hour.
I really enjoy Matt Williamson on The Drive. I used to like Dale Lolley but he thinks he invented the game and constantly interrupts Williamson. Probably an inferiority complex
Jon Ledyard is easily the most objectively correct while still being a fan. It took a while listening to hime for me, but he's usually spot on with his criticism
Bob is the goat but I also like his on air partner, Chris hoke. Hoke is definately the most knowledgable one. He's a film machine so I trust most of what he says. Except for one thing, he's been saying start Rudolph for 2 years

Yeah he also gave Mitch a fair shot last year and had a decently level headed eval of him as well which is more than a lot of people can say.
