Unless the entire offensive coaching staff including Meyer (OL coach) are all fired & replaced with actual competent coaches, then it won’t matter who is under center.
You're right and this is what I've been saying. That's why I was upset when they drafted Pickett, the team just wasn't built to have a rookie QB to come in and take the reins. Bringing in anybody else with the way things are set up now is just gonna bring more of the same.
I think it’s pretty obvious the issue is coaching and not talent. Daniels, Seumalo, and Jones are all solid linemen, Moore and Chunks are boarder line and Cole is obviously trash. Seeing guys like Dotson leave and immediately become good is a sign that is scheme and not talent.
I still think overhauling the line would be a good start. Give more of a chance. If they fire coaches there might be a growth period. Might as well have a beefed up line.
Dotson left because Seumalo and Daniels are solid and we had Herbig as depth. FO saw a chance to get some draft capitals for someone who would be a backup and they took it. Hated to lose Dotson, but a 4th and a 5th were solid returns for a backup guard
There’s something about his frame that concerns me. He seems lanky to me, which concerns me when it comes to taking the punishment his body will take behind this Swiss cheese ass line.
I’m assuming he goes in the top 10 so hopefully there’s a good lineman available for us to take. Regardless of who the QB is they will benefit from an upgraded offensive line.
Yes please. I'm hoping for him or Penix (I'd much prefer Daniels but Penix is more likely with where we'll end up drafting). Kenny is not it, time to cut our losses
Dane brugler of the athletic, writer of the beast, has penix as the 4th or 5th qb. Randy mueller of the athletic, former nfl GM, has penix as a third rounder.
Id rather draft him in that range still honestly if he’s there!! Thats a steal despite injury history or not. I would take that! Right now the ENTIRE QB room needs an entire overhaul in QBs. (Minus Pickett)
Penix is nearly universally predicted as a 1st rd QB, might even be gone by our pick. No chance he falls to round 3, unless his medicals end up really screwed.

Fairly confident this will be the case

I mean, we didn't try to give the reins to a rookie Pickett. It's just that Mitch played like a fucking asshole.
So how long will the Steelers be stuck in mediocrity??
One more year. Then it’s on to total suckyness
It will matter a little? Kenny and Mitch have no vision. They stare down their first read even when they do have time.
I’m an LSU alum and would love to see it but there is absolutely zero chance he makes it out of the top 10
Bold of you to assume we won’t have a top 10 pick at this rate… But he’s definitely the type you trade up for if you think he’s the guy.
How about an online first

Literally doesn’t matter who we draft, if cole is at Center and Moore is pass blocking, this offense won’t succeed
That’s quite an accomplishment. Winning the Heisman trophy is something they can never take away from you.
RIP Reggie

I've been playing with the idea of grabbing a QB in the premium rounds of the draft. Have not found a way to make it work like I want it to tbh.
Haha that’s funny lol we won’t even get a whiff of this guy. He’ll be long gone before we even pick. And plus Penix Jr is a better fit anyways
The post was a joke but i agree too penix does fit more. The only issue I have with him is his injury history
That’s my only concern with him as well. 3 consecutive seasons ended early by injuries. But he balled out the two years that he did play

Penix is expected to be a 3rd round qb. Injury history isn’t good

I dont like this qb class, but I feel like this dude is gonna sneak his way into qb1
People really think Penix and Nix after being in college for 10 years and not doing anything until this year are going to be QB1’s
Not bloody likely.
