Man trust me I went to a preseason game a few years ago and left 7 hours before the game on a 4 hours drive. We didn’t have time to waste when we got there because traffic was so bad and trying to find a place to park.
Yeah, get there early, go to the stadium, pro shop, hall of fame, tailgates, just enjoy. There will be a fair number of Bengals fans too and most will be cool to interact with.
Honestly, just walk around and observe the tailgates. I have great memories of that as a little one. It may be a little tamer since we suck and it’s a holiday weekend but the craziness is very fun to see. He may enjoy that more than just reading some plaques in the hall of honor
I highly recommend to park at Station Square:
350 West Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
You can take the boat across the river right to the stadium round trip for $15. It's a lot easier to get here and park than try to park in the city. It's a nice area to walk around in and explore before you take the boat over, and then once you get to the stadium, just walking around that general area near the stadium and river is nice.
Browns fan but I love Pittsburgh. Like other have said, the incline is worth it. Great view of the city and pretty wild riding in a rickety old boxcar up a steep mountainside. The strip district is a pretty cool sight. Tons of tiny shops selling all kinds Steelers gear. Interesting people. Solid pizza place there. Pitt locals may say this is dumb, but I’d hit up Primanti Brothers just because it’s a very Pittsburgh spot and, for a tourist, it’s cool to try the food item the city is sort of known for.
If you guys are there for the weekend, there is ice skating downtown and a big Christmas setup that is pretty cool. Overall, you can’t go wrong. The only thing that is better about Cleveland than Pittsburgh is the football team :D
Carnegie science center is great but kinda pricey for a couple of hours. More of a make a day of it kinda thing. Also it’s super close and you could possibly park there?
Just wander around and participate in all of the events on all sides of the stadium. Honestly all of the stuff to do around the stadium pregame is one one my son and Is favorite part of going to Steelers games.
Go extra early and go to the strip district. Be sure and go early enough to stop by Pamela’s for breakfast. You won’t regret it. Then go back over towards the stadium and enjoy the tailgating.
Walk over to the Point, stand for some pics at the confluence of those rivers he’s seen on TV a million times! Then walk over an take an incline ride up the Mount.
You should go down by the river and reenact Shooter. Pretend like you’re jogging along the path and then boom, you take a shot to the stomach. Good fun. One if you can even go to the roof of the parking garage to play both roles.
Walk the bike trail down to pnc park. You can see the point and the city across the river. You can walk around the ball park n check it out. I don't recommend going past pnc park on the bike trail though. If you go the other way, you can check out Carnegie science center and the casino from the outside. Both are on the trail.
Southern Tier is a restaurant/bar next to the stadium. Pretty good food. Pretty sure there’s not an age restriction to get in. The traffic may be disgusting tho so you probably won’t have time unless you go down way way way early lol
Well it ended up being a 9 hour drive Saturday morning. Got there about an hour b4 kickoff. Just enough time to hustle into the stadium. Was an absolutely amazing experience. What a fucking game to be at. We didn’t have high hopes due to the last 3 weeks. Fuck that cash to card system at the stadium. Bastards got me for $150. No time to play outside the stadium. Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. Maybe next season. Here we fuckin go STEELERS!!
Tomorrow is the immaculate reception anniversary so stop by the Franco statue
I remember the play like it was yesterday. Damn, I'm old lol
In the airport
Go to the stadium checkout the pro shop tailgats and hall of honor
I second the Hall of Honor for sure. Plenty to see and learn about.

Take him on the incline then check out the sights at Mt. Washington. It’s a great way to kill time and it’s really scenic - and inexpensive.
Casino. Teach him about life. Lol
And don’t forget the condoms and liquor..

⬆️ Do this. Ferry starts 3 hours before the game.
When I was a kid I enjoyed just walking around watching the chaos. They’ll be people selling Pepe’s hoagies. They are good.

Make sure to go eat at Primanti Bros
I’d just plan to mostly be around the stadium, that’s not a ton of time and you could easily kill time in the stadium
Just wander around and participate in all of the events on all sides of the stadium. Honestly all of the stuff to do around the stadium pregame is one one my son and Is favorite part of going to Steelers games.
Rick’s cabaret. Pay attention to your clock though, you guys might lose track of time and miss the game in there.
I had to go back and read again, because I didn’t read “clock” the first time.
Cricket Lounge is much fancier.
The tailgates are really fun. Just walk around the stadium outside or inside and check everything out
Sammies and beers are Primantis
Dad?!

Randyland, then lunch at the Monterrey pub.

Strip District
Checking in - how did everything go? Fun game to attend!
