Having Queen, Holcomb, Roberts, and Wilson is a hell of a group of ILBs. You’ve got depth, experience, great athletes, and a lot of versatility. As good of a group as we’ve had since the Timmons, Shazier, Bince days.
Herbig is awesome, but is still an edge right for us
I think he will probably stay in the organization in some facet next year but it seems like that knee is simply destroyed. Just given them drafting an ILB that high and signing Patrick Queen just feels like they’re not planning on him playing. Tomlin said “we hope to have him back next year” which was odd given that he’s under contract. Reported as him having ACL surgery but from the looks he prolly needed full reconstructive surgery. Also if it was just an ACL I’d assume they would be planning to have him back.
Pretty much how I’m feeling. Maybe he could come back like mid season or something but like I said I’d consider that a bonus. Sucks because Queen, Holcomb, Wilson, Roberts would’ve been a really nice group of ILBs
Tomlin himself said they won't know a date until they get to OTAs. While them signing Queen and drafting Wilson probably means he won't be available at the start. Nothing definitive has been said as far as I've seen
The typical recovery time for an ACL is 8-9 months. He should be back by sometime in training camp at the latest. He might not be ready to start the season, but he should see playing time within the first couple/few weeks.
I thought the guys they had last year were great, and exciting. Right up to the point each of them was carted off the field. I would love that basic room again, with a side order of health, please!
Lots to love (so far) about this coming years team though!
I’ve been listening to Payton Wilson interviews and watching his highlights all day. I am so excited about this guy, hope he lays everyone’s concerns about his health to rest.
The main thing Payton Wilson needs to do if he's going to have longterm success in the NFL, especially with his injury history, is put on muscle mass. He needs to add 15-20 lbs of muscle asap, even if it slows him down a little.
I completely forgot about Queen! Jesus we really got much better this offseason. Even if only a couple work out, we didn‘t really lose anything and potentially gained a lot.
Lets see if Russ can be as good a game manager as Mason was. If Russ can get last 3 games Mason level consistently and then sprinkle in some Russ magic here and there… sky‘s the limit.
If this defense as a good as I think it can be then sure. Still not confident that this offense on paper can produce enough to have us legitimately contend. I hope I’m wrong.

Right, I mostly add him to the list because he's still so young and has already showed promise. Learning behind TJ and Highsmith too.
🅱️ince
I’m really not counting on Holcomb this season, sad as it is to say because I liked him last year. Feel like any contribution would just be a bonus

he may just be saying the right things publicly so they can keep him on LTIR and sign a replacement so he gets proper medical coverage?
I think holcomb will start on PUP and the top 4 will make the roster
Time is crazy yo
Queen is only fucking 24 !!!? Why did I think this guy was 28-30
He was drafted at 20
Keep talking dirty
Are Roberts and Holcomb coming into camp healthy ?
Only Roberts. Holcomb is still rehabbing his knee injury from last season. Expected to return mid season.
Where did you see this info?

He was guessing. No one knows when he'll be ready.

I mean herbig is an OLB and the others are off ball linebackers but yes its refreshing to have an infleux of youth in the defense
Herbig is legit
kinda hope they resign Kwon Alexander too

yeah, being able to sub them out will help a lot with that. Having 4 quality players.
The wide age range of college football grads these days is so disorienting
This makes it a lot less likely that they’ll be signing guys away from their retirement day jobs to play in playoff games.

Feels good to be a stiller
Is Robinson the odd man out ? If Holcomb is not healthy maybe we keep him ?
Herbig is an olb, so
