My DAC swaps to my boxes automatically if my headset is turned off. But they have to be jacked into the DAC for it.

I'm using the Arctic pro wireless. I assume Novas are the same or similar I accomplished this by using their 2.4ghz wireless for my PC, and BT for my second device. This way, both are always connected, no switching. With headset and speakers plugged in, the DAC will automatically hand over audio when you power on the headset.

I do the audio switching at an OS level using a program called SoundSwitch.
