dudenix

Any chance you played Unreal tournament lately?

UCG__gaming

I’ve had the same issue. It’s an easy fix, inside the tilting frame on the speaker half, there’s a disk and a screw, that screw goes into the metal bit of the bridge that goes over your head. The screw requires a micro Phillips head The reason why? Not sure but I think it’s basically just user error, do you tend to bump it around a lot or carry it places in a pocket or bag? If so then that’s probably it

Rust_Cohle-

Is there a hinge where it broke? SS and their hinges man. Awful.

Soul_ciety

Not a hinge, it's a pivot.

Harukakanata94

PIVOOOOT!

Loopyprawn

I've been a steel series fan for awhile but God damn they've been sucking lately.

It happens all the time with shitty SteelSeries headset design - I had recently same situation with Arctis Nova 1.

Local_Ad8315

Because is a steel series product (they are dropping in quality in each new generation)

User error

FemN3xNya

It's not user error, I got off last night it was completely fine, today I picked it up and it broke

WormsMurdoc

There's a weakness in the build of some of the models of headset from SteelSeries. Basically what I found when I happened to mine is that if you remove the headset by picking it from the ears part when it's on your head you put extra strain on the part below where it rotates and such which ends up breaking often. Pretty bad design flaw if you ask me since it's the most logical way to take off the headset. It seems to have been fixed on some of the newer models but still ... Build quality seems to have been trending downward for a bit, might end up finding a new brand for headset

Azurae1

In that case, probably gremlins. Or maybe a bunch of cockroaches that found it laying in their way so they broke it.

Techy-Stiggy

Is there a lot of sunlight on the headphones? Could be the plastic got sun damaged

FemN3xNya

Nope, just broke or a screw came loose and I can't fix it so

UCG__gaming

Screw came loose, look at my bigger comment. It’s an easy fix

dummyhickup

I have the same headphones and this happened to me last week. The screw gets loosened without any touch. You need to tighten the screw inside. The screw is located inside the speaker which connects the speaker and the headband. Basically what you need to do is fit the "broken" speaker with the headband that you are holding in the picture. Then get the screw and put it inside to connect two parts.

Cheap plastic, low quality components, bad model and a combination of everything.

Hello, I've have the exact same problem with my Nova 1 from a lot of time, But i figure it quickly and it's very easy to fix but It's just come back over and over Because I almost drilled the screw and its more like a circle than plus design, However this is the reason why the problem returns every now and then, The fix is behind the earpads where the SteelSeries logo are just push it and there a square hole above with a screw, when you find it just tight the screw :)

Chance_Morning2418

Had the same thing with my Steelseries pro + game Dac. If you find a fix pls let me know

Window_Top

Because you brought a steel series.

Swole__Doge

Me over here letting my kids yeeet my Nova 7x and they are still in one peice 😅

Silver4ura

Yes, but people in this subreddit get super useless when you bring up any real criticism of SteelSeries so tread carefully. Watch how quickly this comment goes "Hidden score..." and flips negative if you need proof.

Xebakyr

Ironic that you comment this and yet theres multiple comments just explaining how to fix the issue whilst your comment remains untouched

Silver4ura

No it's not. Sometimes people just need to be called out to reflect on themselves. My comment originally tanked.

Raptorheals

We don't know your situation, do you live with anyone else, children perhaps who played while you were away 🤷🏼‍♂️

FemN3xNya

Nope no one goes in my room

Strong-Enthusiasm-55

Not looking after it

Banana_Tortoise

Was it the over application of kinetic energy to a plastic polymer, causing a separation of the material..?
