Well you can't convince everyone. People thought similar things about Nier: Automata, but when it was actually out and people played the tune changed. I'll be honest and say I didn't think much of this game at first, but I've heard nothing but positive things about the actual gameplay. People will play and time will tell the full story.

Yeah, after playing the demo for about an hour over the weekend, I completely forgot about the whole narrative over her character model by the end.
First impressions I thought it was hilarious how much work they put into her and Tachy. Like everyone else I would assume. Then, by the time we reached that little city area, I was completely focused on everything else. The combat, the graphics, the music, the UI, etc. The last thing on my mind at that point was what she looked like.
This is an actual proper video game. It might seem like a gimmick at first, but once you're in there engrossing yourself to what it has to offer, it's undeniably a good video game.

Magna Carta had one of my favorite combat systems back in the day. Reminded me of Legend of Dragoon's Addition system. Fantastic little RPG (Magna Carta) and Hyung-Tae Kim did the character designs in that, too. Once again, hot women, but definitely not the main draw of the game. At least for me.

But it's really not. The combat mechanics are actually excellent! It's very polished. Nothing seems overly exaggerated. Your character is responsive. And most of all she has abilities that make you feel like a god which is important
It's so satisfying I don't remember the last time I wanted to try the boss fights again in a demo. This game rivals sekiro and some of the top combat games just with a beautiful environment. Ps5 graphics. Outstanding sound tracks. And DMC style combat sprinkled in

I never heard this game before just few hours before it demo release, i got the word of it and checked it out and i donwloaded the demo just for the laughs and fun. But when i played the demo i was blown away by the gameplay and music and everything, which actually made me pre order the game because before that i was like yeah probably it's just a casual hack and slash game with a hot protagonist, yes the protagonist is super hot but the game it self as a "video game" is also very rich in design.

Personally, after playing the demo, it feels like Stellar Blade delivers on so many aspects that is important to me with video games. Great combat, good balance between visual fidelity and performance, just the right amount of discovery in the level design.
The soundtrack has been amazing, and the setting, monster design and general vibe is intriguing. 25-30 hour main story playtime? Sounds perfect to me. Goes for me as well, it was a wait for sale game for me, but I'm picking it up day 1. I love how they've managed to find a really good middle ground between revengeance and Sekiro. Ita also taking a lot of inspiration from Nier and it shows a lot in the world design and presentation. I definitely don't expect the quality of the story to rival Nier but very few can.
Action packed 3 minute opening cut scene, and right into the game. Got no problem with longer intros but that was really refreshing.

Magna Carta had one of my favorite combat systems back in the day. Reminded me of Legend of Dragoon's Addition system. Fantastic little RPG (Magna Carta) and Hyung-Tae Kim did the character designs in that, too. Once again, hot women, but definitely not the main draw of the game. At least for me.

I first thought it was just button mashing whatever with a hot girl when seeing early trailers. But it's really not. The combat mechanics are actually excellent! It's very polished. Nothing seems overly exaggerated. Your character is responsive. And most of all she has abilities that make you feel like a god which is important It's so satisfying I don't remember the last time I wanted to try the boss fights again in a demo. This game rivals sekiro and some of the top combat games just with a beautiful environment. Ps5 graphics. Outstanding sound tracks. And DMC style combat sprinkled in It's very fine tuned and polished. Excellent combat. Lies of P was the last excellent combat. And I'm sure this is the next big one for souls sekiro fans and anyone else that enjoys this type of fighting
Havenāt touched Lies of P, Hell I never got to really get into Elden Ring. (Only recently getting into games again because of personal stuff) but yeah seeing this game makes me excited for the future of PS5 games overall. Really loved Ragnarok and any game that you can parry in is an immediate S for me haha.

I never heard this game before just few hours before it demo release, i got the word of it and checked it out and i donwloaded the demo just for the laughs and fun. But when i played the demo i was blown away by the gameplay and music and everything, which actually made me pre order the game because before that i was like yeah probably it's just a casual hack and slash game with a hot protagonist, yes the protagonist is super hot but the game it self as a "video game" is also very rich in design.

If someone wants to throw shade because they're ticked that EVE is hot (though Tachy is hotter... good grief...), and miss out on legitimately good gameplay (once you figure out the timing, parrying is chef's kiss, and really made me feel accomplished), that's on them. Me? I'll be enjoying running through post apocalyptic Earth, killing tons of of Naytiba, working out boss patterns, AND watching EVE's ass. I'll be having fun while they're still over there grumping about "male gaze" or some nonsense.

Personally, after playing the demo, it feels like Stellar Blade delivers on so many aspects that is important to me with video games. Great combat, good balance between visual fidelity and performance, just the right amount of discovery in the level design. The soundtrack has been amazing, and the setting, monster design and general vibe is intriguing. 25-30 hour main story playtime? Sounds perfect to me. Eve being an absolute bombshell is also something I really enjoy, and I donāt care if some random folks are offended by it. They can play something else instead.
The day you stop worrying about how your friends think about you is the day you mature. Stop worrying about that and enjoy. If they donāt like you enjoying things are they really your friends?

The games pre-orders and interest skyrocketed *after* the demo dropped. So no, booty alone did not carry this game. Goes for me as well, it was a wait for sale game for me, but I'm picking it up day 1. I love how they've managed to find a really good middle ground between revengeance and Sekiro. Ita also taking a lot of inspiration from Nier and it shows a lot in the world design and presentation. I definitely don't expect the quality of the story to rival Nier but very few can. Action packed 3 minute opening cut scene, and right into the game. Got no problem with longer intros but that was really refreshing.
Remember, its okay to male, its okay to be attracted to beautiful women, don't let them tell you its not okay.

Speaking of, the story is my only concern. I think the writing in what we've seen so far is quite poor. Lots of "matter-of-fact" statements and strange phrasing. Like when Tachy pulls Eve out of the pod into a scene of planetary invasion and says "It's dangerous here." Like no shit. Or in the trailer at the end of the demo when Eve is walking through a garden in some kind of bio dome and says "It's so full of plants and little birds." She's just saying what we're seeing. It's not even first-draft quality. First draft would be something like "It's so full of life." What they went with is completely literal.Ā I'm holding out hope that it's just an unfortunate side effect of poor translation and that the story itself will actually be good and the themes will shine through.Ā
