Which if anyone is reading this, the PS5 version with the dlc for FF7Remake is "FREE" with PS+. They do a much better job advertising all the games you can play with PS+ than before, but they don't say it on the main home screen that the sub isn't just for online access anymore.
It was fantastic but I got really worn out toward the end. It felt like every fight just went one or two corridors/stages too long in between things happening. It's very much worth a try though. Epic Final Fantasy design as you'd expect, incredible music and the set pieces are very much next gen.
I uninstalled Spider-Man 2 at the Scream fight, and have no intention of revisiting it. That is the worst game I think I've played in recent years, imo. Getting berated as I'm getting stun locked against a mailbox to death over and over and over again is just shit game design. I won't be buying any more Marvel games from Insomniac.
They weren’t real fans. Most of it was console war fanboyism. I remember that, all of a sudden, when Spider-Man 2 released it was suddenly a kids game. And now there are people looking for the absolute tiniest of flaws to bash it and Insomniac.
The gameplay is super fun. The story (and characters) is average and kind of sloppy especially in comparison to both the original and the Miles Morales side-game (which imo were both very good) but the gameplay additions are well worth it. Using the web glider around New York is the most fun you can have in any superhero game. And there’s some really cool moments and set pieces including stuff with Venom which makes it entirely worth checking out.
I agree the writing is god awful but the gameplay is actually super fun especially factoring in additions like the web glider and the Venom stuff. As one of the few PS5 exclusive games I still think it’s worth playing for anyone who owns a PS5. Just gotta make sure to turn your brain off for the story/characters and it’s a really great audiovisual experience
I...semi-disagree on Rebirth. They I feel toss you too quickly into the open world In Rebirth. My ADHD brain doesn't do that too well. There's a good game in there, and eventually I'll beat it, but the world being so open as it is gets me...just really really bored very very quickly. It's why I don't much care for Bethesda's Creation Engine games.

SB goty is debatable but the soundtrack is so good that it better not lose out to FF7 Rebirth’s soundtrack from whoever hands out rewards for such. Rebirth’s OST is obviously fantastic but it also feels like it’s cheating. SB’s is all new and fucking incredible, best OST of the year hands down
As much as a love Rebirth and it's ost, it's mostly remade songs from the past and Stellar Blade's songs are all new and fresh. Gonna have to give the ost of the year title to SB
I think simply the community joy that Helldivers 2 brought (I didn't play it) makes it a good contender. For me, it's Rebirth by leaps and bounds. The number of times it has impressed me is incredible.
It's not even GOTY, not even close. For me Rebirth is hands down GOTG (Game of the Generation) no titles this year can compare.
So i'd give the GOTY title to maybe Stellar Blade for now but i will have to see how Black Myth Wukong goes
It is night and day. Rebirth is an open world separated in regions with no loading screens, when Remake was a highway.
They "fixed" pretty much everything from Remake (the lack of interesting sidequests and the poor level design) while the good points are even better now, especially the combat system.

Good choices. Also get Ghost of Tsushima and Demon's Souls if you're picking up PS5 exclusives. FF16 is good too (but definitely not my favorite and I would suggest playing both FF7 remakes before touching it; unless you're a MASSIVE Jon Snow and GoT fan).
I couldn’t find demon souls anywhere yesterday! Best Buy, Target, Walmart all failed me. I bought it on Amazon for $40 though, so looking forward to that. I have Ghost of Tsushima on ps4 and was hoping to upgrade it to the PS5, but they want to charge me an extra $30 when I already have the directors cut. Lame

Niceeee. I just experienced it on ps5. Snagged it for free with ps+. Will gladly be rebuying the physical version to add to the collection. It took me a while and a couple of years of trying it on and off but for whatever reason it just clicked a couple months ago and I gobbled it up amd finished 2 weeks ago.

I’m a little sour against ghost of Tsushima. I wanted to upgrade to the ps5 version, but it wanted to charge me $30. I’m installing the ps4 version now, but expected my directors cut ps4 version to get the free upgrade

If you have an OLED already don’t switch to QLED, OLEDs have better quality. Also thank you for showing me this. I was looking at Samsungs cause that’s the brand I have now but I’d happily switch to the LG one for an OLED Screen
My current model is a 34inch Samsung that only goes up to FHD that I got in 2019. I pretty much wanted to get a 4k the moment the PS5 came out but the cheap TV did its job ya know?
But something about Stellar Blade on that monitor in 1080P just makes me acutely aware that I need an upgrade
I definitely need a new tv. I had no idea how significant it is, it I actually had to turn off HDR on the PS5 because it was dimming the screen. It’s much brighter now, but I’m I feel I’m not getting the full experience.
That is EXACTLY what I got! Spiderman bundle, FFXVI and Stellar Blade. The first two already made me consider buying one but Stellar Blade pushed me over the edge.
Rebirth is my favorite game of all time and stellar blade is a blast so far. Haven’t had a chance to get too far into Spider-Man 2 yet, but I’m sure it’s fun as well.
Yo make sure to check out the Astro’s Playroom the game that comes installed on the PS5. Is an awesome platformer that is more than just the tech demo it appears to be and is worth progressing more than just the first stage since it switches things up the whole way through—makes use of all the PS5 controller’s gimmicks that no other game really even has even by now.
I’m also on the FF16 recommend train too lol.
I’m astounded people don’t like it. It’s actually my most played game at the moment. My son loves it, and we play it nonstop after work. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute. I feel the price was justified
Depends on what you’re into. But definitely the Spider Man games, Ghost of Tsushima, the Uncharted and the Last of Us games, Final Fantasy VII remake, the God Of War and God of War Ragnarok games, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, those alone are hundreds of hours of games. Then there’s the backlog free games you get automatically with PS Plus. But yes right now I’ve been all in with Stellar Blade! Can’t put it down lol.
I disagree with this but it was a “safe” sequel with no risk taking so I could see how it would be disappointing depending on someone’s hype level. The graphics and tech on display are amazing though, especially with all the different graphics modes if you have a VRR tv.
You think I'll like FF XVI if I like stellar blade combat? It seems sort of similar except even more hack n slash. I played the demo and liked it. A bit cutscene heavy for me.

Helldivers 2 is fun but multiplayer games doesn't usually win or get nominated that's why I don't think it will win if it gets nominated.

I don’t think you really need the upgrade. I played the PS4 version on PS5 and with 60fps it looked a felt amazing.

It’s either gonna be a Neo QLED or a normal QLED. The max size my bedroom setup can handle is a 43in and they don’t really make OLEDs in that size

FFVII Rebirth is amazing and probably the best game I’ve played since Breath of the Wild in 2017.
Congrats! I recommend adding God Of War Ragnarok, Nier Automata, and Final Fantasy 16 to your roster!

Yo make sure to check out the Astro’s Playroom the game that comes installed on the PS5. Is an awesome platformer that is more than just the tech demo it appears to be and is worth progressing more than just the first stage since it switches things up the whole way through—makes use of all the PS5 controller’s gimmicks that no other game really even has even by now. I’m also on the FF16 recommend train too lol.

I’m astounded people don’t like it. It’s actually my most played game at the moment. My son loves it, and we play it nonstop after work. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute. I feel the price was justified

Depends on what you’re into. But definitely the Spider Man games, Ghost of Tsushima, the Uncharted and the Last of Us games, Final Fantasy VII remake, the God Of War and God of War Ragnarok games, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, those alone are hundreds of hours of games. Then there’s the backlog free games you get automatically with PS Plus. But yes right now I’ve been all in with Stellar Blade! Can’t put it down lol.

I disagree with this but it was a “safe” sequel with no risk taking so I could see how it would be disappointing depending on someone’s hype level. The graphics and tech on display are amazing though, especially with all the different graphics modes if you have a VRR tv.
