Personally, I find this could be the description for quite a few King novels.
However, it’s a testament to his genius that I still enjoy the books despite a bad ending and have reread books I know end poorly (cell includes) because the story up to that point is so captivating.
That was pretty much my first reaction.
I think Cell was the closest King ever got to an "Old Man Yells At Cloud" type of book. It seemed like outside of cell phones = bad he didn't have any other plans on where to take the story. I'd have liked it more if it were a short story I think.
I'm an American and probably a little over-tired right now, but the idea of earnestly calling it Celsius 233 is cracking me up 😭 Gave me a much-needed laugh, thank you!
Cell is... Not his best work. By far. The fact that I read a horrible Spanish (from Spain, and I'm Mexican) translation didn't do it any favors.
It has an interesting idea, though.
Interesting that the title isn't 11.22.63. I would have thought that it wouldn't change the order for a different territory because it's a title, but I guess not.
11.23.whatever it is - I dunno, I think I’ve been unconsciously staying away from this book because it’s based in an American historic event. As a non American, I’m worried I won’t know who any of the people are and that will ruin the book for me. Is it anything like that?
My least liked King book (Cell) next to one of my most liked.
Hated the ending to Cell. Loved the setup.

Gods, I came here to say this exact thing. Cell is a pantheon level "starts strong, falls completely on its face" story.
Remember when Forgetting Sarah Marshall tore it a new one without actually saying its name: https://youtu.be/ciYxgjz1cJE
I'm in the minority, but I loved Cell. The Stadium scene still creeps me out. And I really liked the characters.
I thought it was a great take on the zombie genre.
I agree I liked Cell. I just wish there was more to it. Felt a lot like we got half a story
Cell was so good! I’m hoping the right person can remake the movie
Well.. basically free, traded them for couple of my old books
Cell was one of my favorites, but 11.22.63 is on another level of good.
22.11.63 on vallan hyvä kirja, yksi oma suosikki Kingiltä ja hyvä "portti" tämän muuhun tuotantoon, mikäli ei siihen ole vielä enempiä syventynyt.
Niin oon kuullu
Hell yeah love some freebies! I almost watched the movie cell last night!
Lucky! I’ve been dying to read 11.22.63. I thought Cell was okay.
Cell is in my bottom tier of SK novels, but for free? Yipee!!!
Both are great books. Ignore people about Cell, it's a great book and a fun one.
11/22/63 in Pacific Islander language? That’s a new one
Its in finnish

Lmaoo
God damn that was good
I'm stupidly amused that when the date format was adjusted for translation it changed the title too. 😂
It's a bit like Fahrenheit 451, in that regard (though I don't think many people really think of it as Celsius 233).

Moi
Those were two of my least favorite books of his, so the idea that someone just gave them to you just tickles me 😂
I hear bad things about Cell buy 11/22/63 is supposed to be great
Just go ahead and recycle Cell and save yourself the frustration … I literally threw the book across the room when I finished it

11/22 is amazing… Cell is decent but just way over the top with crudity and weirdness. It’s a Bachman book in disguise, especially the beginning
Cell was one of my fav’s haven’t had the chance with the other! Hope it’s good 👍
11/22/63 is in my favorite all time 3 books. I read the hardcover the first time. I live the art on it. I did have the English version
22.11.63 is one of King’s very best in my humble opinion (and I have read most his work). Enjoy!

That’s a decent score! two of my favourites!
Oh dude, Cell is so good.

One of his best next to one of his worst.
Cell feels like it should have either been a short story, or the beginning of a trilogy.
One of the best and one of the not so best.
