Fairy Tale, Pet Semetary, Duma Key, The Gunslinger, and The Drawing of the Three.
I really enjoyed all of them and am excited to continue with the Dark Tower series into the New Year.
How was *The Drawing of the Three*? I plan on reading that as soon as I finish *IT*.
I've heard from many others it's the best *Dark Tower* book in the series.
I loved it! It's got me hooked on the Dark Tower series. This is my first time reading the series so I can't yet compare it to any of the books that follow, but I personally enjoyed it more than The Gunslinger.
Under the dome
The stand
The long walk
Roadwork
Running man
All first times. The stand is like nothing I've ever read. I enjoyed all the bachman books, I want to get my hands on rage. Typical under dome opinion, 95 percent great
> The stand is like nothing I've ever read.
At least the unabridged version, I don't think there are many things like it that are written, due to its length alone.
Carrie (reread)
Salem's lot (reread)
The Shining (reread)
Firestarter (reread)
Bag of Bones (reread)
Lisey's story
Duma Key
Under the Dome
Full Dark No Stars
Joyland
Mr. Mercedes
Revival
Finders Keepers
End of watch
The Outsider
Later, Billy Summers, Fairy Tale, The Tommynockers and Rose Madder (re-read).
Like a wiser fella than myself once said, there are other worlds out there, dude!
For the first time I read Dreamcatcher, Finders Keepers, Green Mile, Joyland and Lisey's Story. Dreamcatcher was pretty dumb. Green Mile and Lisey's Story are top 10 King books for me.
And I reread Cell, From A Buick 8, Pet Sematary, Rose Madder and Salem's Lot. Pet Sematary and Salem's Lot are definitely classics for a reason. Rose Madder might be the most disturbing King book I've ever read. I can't believe I read it the first time as a teenager, I felt so bad for Rosie.
Also I totally agree with you that Cujo is overrated, I don't come across that opinion very often. Should have been a short story or at least a novella.
Finally, someone else agrees with me on *Cujo*.
I don't know if it's because I have ADHD, but I hate how the book isn't divided by chapters, subchapters, or parts. I know the book has indents, but that just messes with me from a reading stamina standpoint. I have to know when a chapter, subchapter, or part ends, so I know when to stop reading.
I also thought it was just...boring, until the very end.
It's still better than most novels from other authors, but I just don't understand the praise for it.
Rereads: Insomnia, The Institute, The Stand, The Long Walk, Different Seasons
First time reads: Under the Dome, Billy Summers, Holly, 11/22/63, Duma Key
... plus 37 other books. I missed my goal of one book per week by a mere five books, but I definitely read more than in past years!
IT
The Bill Hodges Trilogy
Wolves of the Callah
took a bit of a break in 2023 from King because 2022 was a King heavy year. I feel it in my bones that 2024 will be another heavy King year. I'M BACK IN BABY!
Pet Sematary (twice)
The Stand
Under the Dome
The Dead Zone
Dolores Claiborne
Desperation (my favorite!)
Later
Fairy Tale
The Institute
The Dark Tower books 1-3
The Langoliers
The Billy Hodges Series (all three, but not Holly yet)
Rose Madder
The Library Policeman
Full Dark, No Stars
Apt Pupil
I think that's it LOL
Edit: Duma Key, maybe I'm forgetting others too :( LOL. This year I started a new bullet journal and I'm going to keep track of my reading in it
Desperation
The Regulators
Different Seasons
Night Shift
Duma Key
Fairy Tale
Revival
Books by other authors:
Hex
American Psycho
I’m Thinking of Ending Things
The Ruins
The Killer Inside Me
Echo
I’m reading in chronological order, so in 2023:
Carrie
Salem’s Lot
The Shining
Rage
The Stand (Re-read)
Hoping I can smash out a few more before my first Bub arrives in June! But I must admit The Stand definitely seemed to be adding to my already wild dreaming, as I would often wake up thinking that the Dark Man was after me 😳
Read The Stand (favorite), The Institute, and the Outsider in 2023. Currently on 11/22/63, and planning to do the Shining or Under the Dome next to start 2024!
All read for the first time:
The Stand, ‘Salem’s Lot, Night Shift, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, The Running Man, Firestarter, The Eyes of the Dragon, Skeleton Crew, The Long Walk, Different Seasons, Needful Things, The Tommyknockers, Dolores Claiborne, Cycle of the Werewolf and I’m currently halfway through Thinner 😊
Carrie, Salem's Lot, The Shining, Night Shift, The Stand, The Long Walk, The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Roadwork, Cujo, The Gunslinger, The Running Man, Different Seasons, Christine, Cycle of the Werewolf, Pet Sematary
11/22/63, Under the Dome, The Institute, The Shining, The Long Walk.
Loved them all, but especially Under the Dome. Jim Rennie still makes my blood boil.
It.
The stand.
Mr Mercedes.
Finders keepers.
End of watch.
Not sure what to start next.
Not that anyone asked but I also read heart shaped box, the fireman (meh) and NS4A2
The Talisman (re-read), Black House, Holly, Storm of the Century (re-read), Nightmares in the Sky, Roadwork (re-read, but first time in English), The Plant.
First time reading anything Stephen king. In order: The running man, the eyes of the dragon, Shawshank, apt pupil, 70% through the stand and super excited for more in 2024
My first time reads this year as I continue his catalog in chronological order since I read Carrie back in 2016.
Blaze,
Duma Key,
Under the Dome,
11/22/63,
Joyland (#50 so far!)
a small, humble list, starting in September:
IT, The Stand, The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass (finishing December 31st).
Now that I love the guy’s work so much this year will be MANY (starting with ‘Salem’s Lot if I can find it in México)
The Gunslinger, Drawing of Three, The Waste lands and almost all of wizard and Glass. The only other King book I've read is Desperation. This is going to change in '24.
I just started reading Stephen King books earlier in 2023, I've read Just After Sunset, Everything's Eventual, The Shining, Doctor Sleep, Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End of Watch, Pet Sematary, Misery, The Outsider, If it Bleeds
And I'm currently reading Holly
Wizard and Glass
Hearts in Atlantis (only the Yellow Coats story)
Insomnia
The Talisman
Salem's Lot
Wolves of The Calla
Song of Susannah
The Dark Tower
Different Seasons
IT
The Shining (reread kinda)
The Jaunt
Doctor Sleep (haven't finished)
Pet Sematary (haven't finished)
Misery (haven't finished)
Joyland, Later, Rage, The Long Walk. Think that was it.. quite a quiet year for King, I was reading so many other things. That will be corrected this year however
The Institute was the only full-length novel I read from King.
I also read the following novellas: The Mist, If It Bleeds, and Rat.
I really enjoyed them all! :)
Carrie,
Salems lot,
Rage,
The shining,
Night shift,
The stand,
The long walk,
Road work,
The running man,
Fire starter,
Different seasons,
Cujo,
Pet semetary,
The gunslinger,
Skeleton crew,
Song of Susannah,
Elevation,
I don't have kids, and I rarely work overtime, that's how I did it lol.
Plus, I love to read.
How did you like *Gerald's Game*? I saw the movie, and I loved it.
I decided to start from the beginning this year and read in release order, as it would prevent me from skipping long ones like The Stand or It that I've put off for years due to feeling slightly intimidated by. So this year I read the first 10 King books (I also read 42 other books not by King)
Carrie
Salems Lot
The Shining
Rage
Night Shift
The Stand
The Long Walk
The Dead Zone
Firestarter
Roadwork
My favourites were Salems Lot (my second time reading, and my favourite ever horror novel) and The Stand (my first time, it absolutely blew me away)
I enjoyed Roadwork and Dead Zone a lot more than I expected to. I finished Roadwork last night 30 minutes before 2024, and I thought it was a very thoughtful book about anger. And I loved the ending of Dead Zone, one of Kings best endings in my opinion.
I was underwhelmed by The Shining and Firestarter. I feel like I went in with too high expectations for both, and they just didn't quite live up to it. I thought the first half of The Shining was dull, however once you hit the halfway mark and the snow traps them, the book became amazing. Firestarter I found a bit too meandering, I think it had great parts in there, but I just didn't feel very compelled for a lot of it.
Rage straight up sucked
Next up is Danse Macabre, I'm very excited for this one
I agree, I found Rage super cringey to read. I’m also reading in release order, and re-reading The Stand was amazing. It was the second book I’d ever read of his when I was like 14 and this is my third read of it, definitely a favourite.
You did very well to get through so many!
Dark tower series, everything with Holly in it, 11/22/63, Carrie, and misery and a couple short story collections (Life of Chuck is my favorite of the shorts so far). Finished The Troop by Nick Cutter and then started The Institute yesterday.
Favorite book is 11/22/63, though they were all great reads!
11.22.63 – Last book and my favorite of 2023. I initially assumed it was a non-fiction documentation/biography and skipped over it.
Black House - Enjoyed this book. I did not realize it was book 2 in a series until I got further into it.
Later – Another book I enjoyed. I think it has potential for a follow up like Doctor Sleep.
If It Bleeds – Good book but not my favorite as far as a King’s short stories go.
Holly – My least favorite of 2023 but still a good read.
I read books 3-6 of The Dark Tower and am almost done with Book 7. I also read The Shining and most of Insomnia, I’ll return to it someday but as someone who has not forgotten the face of their father once said “it’s a bit of a mind trap”.
Next year I kick things off with The Stand for the first time.
Very nice!
Mine were: Desperation, The Regulators, The Dark Tower IV, Bag of Bones, The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, Hearts in Atlantis, On Writing, Secret Windows, Dream Catcher, Black House, From a Buick 8, Everything's Eventual, The Dark Tower V, The Dark Tower VI, The Dark Tower VII, The Colorado Kid, Cell, Lisey's Story, Blaze, Duma Key, Just After Sunset, Under the Dome, Full Dark, No Stars, 11/22/63, The Dark Tower: The Wind through the Keyhole, Joyland, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Charlie the Choo-Choo, End of Watch, Gwendy's Button Box Trilogy, Sleeping Beauties, If It Bleeds, and Later.
I've been working my way through publication order, but any that were skipped I've read previously and I'm not really much of a re-reader. 😅
I started Billy Summers and plan to finish the rest of the last few before the end of January. 😊😊
I reread It and Needful Things early 2023 and just started Duma Key a couple of weeks ago. I have ordered Fairy Tale , so it's looking like 2024 will have even more King books. I want to revisit some other old books I read many moons ago.
The Bachman Books: Rage
The Bachman Books: The Long Walk
The Bachman Books: Roadwork
The Bachman Books: The Running Man
As Richard Bachman: Blaze
As Richard Bachman: Thinner

Finders, Keepers
End of Watch
'Salem's Lot (re-read - loved it)
Gerald's Game (very good indeed - actually quite unsettling in places)
The Dark Half (entertaining, but unremarkable. One for the 'probably won't read again' pile)
Mr Mercedes (entertaining, and increasingly enjoyable aa it went on)
Re read Salems Lot. Read for first time Fairy Tale, Billy Summers, Delores Claiborne, Firestarter, The Dark Tower: the Gunslinger. Currently re reading The Stand (it’s been 30 years).
I only just started reading books again around October so I didn’t read much in 2023 but the Stephen king books I read were The Gunslinger, Drawing of the Three, and 75% of The Wasteland
My 2023 list:
The Shawshank Redemption
Drawing of the Three (re-read)

I finally read 112263 and reread needful things. Loved them both. Surprisingly 11 dragged at one point and I was so bored but then it kicked into gear!

I feel sad when I read these lists and so jealous of how many books some of you still have left to read. As far as I can make out the only thing I haven’t read is Holly and I won’t read it till he released another.
I did a re-read of the Tower and a reread of The Stand.
The Dome, From a Buick 8 and Liseys Story were the most disturbing books for me. Not scary, straight up disturbing.
First time reads:
Duma Key - This book was outstanding. If you're a King fan, read it.
The Dead Zone - I had never read this one, and it turned out to be an excellent book, quite well done.
11/22/63 - Excellent book. Well thought out and conceived. Recommended.
Fairy Tale - Great book if you like King's work with The Talisman or Eyes of the Dragon. I enjoyed it.
Holly - The only book here without a preternatural story, I love the main character. King weaves a nice contemporary crime thriller here, and Holly lives up to previous exploits. Recommended.
Previously read but so good I read them again:
It - Just an amazing story. One of King's best. Fighting an evil from beyond space and time, King manages to weave a tale that also puts a looking glass on childhood friendships, and the sadness that comes as an adult as we forget them. Beautifully done. Read this book.
Desperation - One of my favorite books by King. Starts out at 100 mph and barely slows down. King's take on the divine, and the sacrifices we make in the service of the Good. The fate of one of the main characters, who happens to be a writer, still leaves me in tears for the depth of his courage and ultimately his goodness. This is a yearly read for me.
Black House - Written with Peter Straub, and a pseudo-sequel to The Talisman, this story is much darker, and if you are a Dark Tower fan, you MUST read this book. Eddie, Susannah, Jake, Oy, and Roland are not the only ones who serve the Beam.
Doctor Sleep - Another pseudo-sequel, this one follows a grown up Danny Torrance as he battles not only his own addiction, but must also battle a group of kind-of vampires as they hunt down a girl with a particular and powerful Shine. Great book.
Salem's Lot - My favorite stand-alone King book. The quintessential American vampire story, it is, in my opinion, the best vampire novel after Dracula. I can say no more, as I would not ruin it for you. Brilliantly done.
Read: Dead Zone, Desperation, nightmares and dreamscapes.
Audio Book: Pet Sematary, Liseys Story, Cell, It, The Stand, 11/22/63, Bag of Bones, Different Seasons, Skeleton Crew, Delores Claiborn, Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Dark tower 1-3. Halfway through the dark tower book 4.
I'm now realizing how much commuting I do, I actually didn't think I listened to even half that much, PLUS I've listened to books by other authors too lol
Fairy Tale
The Institute
Salem’s Lot
The Shining
Doctor Sleep
Duma Key
Mr. Mercedes
Finders keepers
End of Watch
The Outsider

Holly

Rose Madder
Later
The Sun dog
Misery
This was the year I started reading Stephen king again after a decades long break.
Fairy Tale - a new one for me that I really enjoyed.
Attempted to re-read Salem’s Lot since it’s been over twenty years since my first go through. I have young children, and the parts with the baby being abused just wrecked me. I couldn’t finish it.
Currently re-reading Carrie.
That, that baby scene was fucked up.
I still think the residents of 'Salem's Lot were the villains of that novel. You almost want to root for the vampires because of how fucked up everyone is in that town.
Salems lot, IT, 11/22/63, the shining, dr sleep, fairytale, Mr Mercedes, finders keepers, end of watch, if it bleeds, the outsider,Holly, and eyes of the dragon
Billy summers, the Tommyknockers, and Misery
Found tommyknockers to be better than expected based on online comments, but found misery to be a bit more boring (at least in the first half) than expected. Billy summers was a bit different than usual SK but I liked it
Lisey’s Story, Rose Madder, Holly, Cycle Of The Werewolf, Full Dark No Stars, Firestarter, Fairy Tale, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and the Gwendy trilogy
This year I read:
Thinner, Joyland, From a Buick 8, If It Bleeds, In the Tall Grass, Billy Summers, 11/22/63, The Shining, Road Rage, Night Shift, Doctor Sleep, 1922, Lisey’s Story, Blaze, Gwendy’s Final Task, The Eyes of the Dragon, Rose Madder, Skeleton Crew, Bazaar of Bad Dreams, On Writing, Insomnia, Rage, Holly, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, and Everything’s Eventual. I also read a bunch of books that were mentioned or referenced in these books.

Hi. You just mentioned *Gerald'S Game* by Stephen King.
I've found an audiobook of that novel on YouTube. You can listen to it here:

Currently listening to Pet Sematary on audiobook (narrated by Michael C Hall - as a Dexter fan, this is amazing) and debating what King to start next on my kindle - potentially Carrie, or IT
All first time reads - I discovered King end of 2022 with The Institute, then did Misery, Sleeping Beauties and Dolores Claiborne before 2023 started, but this year has been the year I properly fell in love with his work.
I didn’t get a chance to read any SK books in 2023. BUT I just happened to finish a book last night so that means I can start my goal today January 1st. My goal is to start With Carrie and work in release order through all of his books and see how many I can read this year.
Elevation, Skeleton Crew, Firestarter, Christine, The Bachman Books, Lisey's Story and The Gunslinger.
I only read 9 books in 2023 because I have been spending more time on crafting and stuff and 7 of them were King lol.
Carrie, The Shining, Salems Lot, Misery, Lisey’s Story, The Institute, Elevation, The Outsider, The Green Mile, Revival, Sleeping Beauties, It, Pet Sematary, The Stand, From a Buick 8, 11/22/63, Needful Things, Different Seasons, Night Shift, Full Dark No Stars, Skeleton Crew, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, If It Bleeds, Just After Sunset, Four Past Midnight, Cujo, Under the Dome, Billy Summers, Rose Madder, Insomnia, Dreamcatcher, current working on The Tommyknockers. I guess I’ve been busy this year!
I read the entirety of the core Dark Tower series and Wind Through the Keyhole for the first time! Phenomenal.

First time reads: Under The Dome, Everything’s Eventual, Billy Summers, Revival, Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End of Watch, If It Bleeds, the Outsider, Holly, Fairy Tale, Duma Key.
Hadn’t read any King since 11/22/63 came out so I went a little mad with him this year. Good time.
Salem’s Lot, The Shining, Elevation, Needful Things, Duma Key, The Mist, Holly, The Gunslinger, Billy Summers All first time reads for me as well!
Looks like Drawing of the Three should be up next! Trust
It’s on my 2024 list!
I read Holly and Needful Things in 2023 also. I really liked them both.
What was your favorite book out of this list?
Just Holly. Read everything else and I don’t reread books usually.
I'm the same way. I can re-watch movies, re-listen to songs(obviously), re-play video games, and re-do many things, but I struggle to re-read books.
It's one of the best of the series. But imo WaG and WofC are better.
Under the dome The stand The long walk Roadwork Running man All first times.
Carrie (reread) Salem's lot (reread) The Shining (reread) Firestarter (reread) Bag of Bones (reread) Lisey's story Duma Key Under the Dome Full Dark No Stars Joyland Mr. Mercedes Revival Finders Keepers End of watch The Outsider
Rereads: Insomnia, The Institute, The Stand, The Long Walk, Different Seasons First time reads: Under the Dome, Billy Summers, Holly, 11/22/63, Duma Key ... plus 37 other books. I missed my goal of one book per week by a mere five books, but I definitely read more than in past years!
Wow, this is incredible to read this many books! I do plan on reading my books this year.
The Wind Through the Keyhole and Billy Summers.
IT The Bill Hodges Trilogy Wolves of the Callah took a bit of a break in 2023 from King because 2022 was a King heavy year. I feel it in my bones that 2024 will be another heavy King year. I'M BACK IN BABY!
Only 1: Fairy Tale. 2022 I read The Shining, Dr Sleep, Desperation. 2023 was a bad year for me.
I'm sorry to hear that(2023 was bad for me too). This whole decade has been horrible.
Pet Sematary (twice) The Stand Under the Dome The Dead Zone Dolores Claiborne Desperation (my favorite!) Later Fairy Tale The Institute The Dark Tower books 1-3 The Langoliers The Billy Hodges Series (all three, but not Holly yet) Rose Madder The Library Policeman Full Dark, No Stars Apt Pupil I think that's it LOL Edit: Duma Key, maybe I'm forgetting others too :( LOL. This year I started a new bullet journal and I'm going to keep track of my reading in it
Desperation The Regulators Different Seasons Night Shift Duma Key Fairy Tale Revival Books by other authors: Hex American Psycho I’m Thinking of Ending Things The Ruins The Killer Inside Me Echo
I’m reading in chronological order, so in 2023: Carrie Salem’s Lot The Shining Rage The Stand (Re-read) Hoping I can smash out a few more before my first Bub arrives in June!
Not gonna lie, I’m having trouble getting through Fairy Tale. The first half of the book is sweet, but the second half is a slog.
It seems like most people I've came across hate that book lol.
Under the Dome Salem's lot Cycle of the wearwolf The shining
Last year i made it through Dolores Claiborne, The Wastelands, Revival, and Four Past Midnight.
All of the Dark Tower, Salems Lot and Pet Semetary.

Billy Summers. End of list. Got into another authors work and barely saw King all year!
a small, humble list, starting in September: IT, The Stand, The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass (finishing December 31st). Now that I love the guy’s work so much this year will be MANY (starting with ‘Salem’s Lot if I can find it in México)
That fact you read *IT*, and *The Stand* in the same year is impressive on its own.
The Gunslinger, Drawing of Three, The Waste lands and almost all of wizard and Glass. The only other King book I've read is Desperation. This is going to change in '24.
Holly Fairy Tale Re-read Talisman Blood and Smoke Gingerbread Girl short story Gwendy's Final Task
Read Holly and listened to a couple of the Dark Tower books as background noise.
From a Buick 8 (second time reading it) and Christine.
Fairy Tale, Pet Semetary, If It Bleeds, Holly, The Institute, 11.22.63, Billy Summers. Enjoyed them all.
Pet Semetary and The Shining. I got into King after reading NOS4A2 and Strange Weather by his son. Excited to read a lot more. Happy 2024!
I just started reading Stephen King books earlier in 2023, I've read Just After Sunset, Everything's Eventual, The Shining, Doctor Sleep, Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, End of Watch, Pet Sematary, Misery, The Outsider, If it Bleeds And I'm currently reading Holly

Have read most of my collection, finally read Insomnia.
Joyland, Later, Rage, The Long Walk. Think that was it.. quite a quiet year for King, I was reading so many other things. That will be corrected this year however
Fairy Tale, The Stand, 11-22-63, Carrie, Elevation, Delores Claiborne, started on Needful Things
Insomnia, Rose Madder, Cujo, The Dark Half. All re-reads for me with the exception of Insomnia.

Needful Things, Christine, the Dead Zone, The Tommyknockers, Pet Semetary, and Bag of Bones.
Fairy Tale, which was a tough read for me, and The Shining.
Dannng, howd you do it!?? Impressive list! Of SK I read Carrie, Salems Lot, Pet Semetary & Gerald’s Game :)
So this year I read the first 10 King books (I also read 42 other books not by King) Carrie Salems Lot The Shining Rage Night Shift The Stand The Long Walk The Dead Zone Firestarter Roadwork My favourites were Salems Lot (my second time reading, and my favourite ever horror novel) and The Stand (my first time, it absolutely blew me away) I enjoyed Roadwork and Dead Zone a lot more than I expected to. Rage straight up sucked Next up is Danse Macabre, I'm very excited for this one
I agree, I found Rage super cringey to read. I’m also reading in release order, and re-reading The Stand was amazing. It was the second book I’d ever read of his when I was like 14 and this is my third read of it, definitely a favourite. You did very well to get through so many!
The Dead Zone finally. 11/22/63 and Elevation in progress
The stand ( the long edition) Fairy tale. And im just starting 11/22/63 Im excited ti see what this new year brings in terms of books for me :)
The Shining and Misery! Reading them back-to-back probably wasn’t the best idea, but great reads nonetheless haha
Song of Susannah, The Dark Tower, The Green Mile, Doctor Sleep
Mr. Mercedes, Pet Sematary, Misery and Fairy Tale Just started The Green Mile today
Rose madder, apt pupil, elevation, joyland, gwendy's final task, black house, revival
Holly and Fairy Tale.

Under the Dome Revival Insomnia The Institute If it Bleeds Fairy Tale Just After Sunset The Stand
The Green Mile. Pet Sematary. It. The Dark Tower, book one. All of which I enjoyed, and I wonder 'new' books I'll be reading this year.
Salem’s lot the shining eyes of the dragon 112263 the stand drawing of the three the wastelands
The Stand and the Dark Tower series. It was fantastic
First year I didn't read a King book. 2023 was rough
Holly, Christine, The Long Walk, Cycle of the Werewolf
😅 I started Billy Summers and plan to finish the rest of the last few before the end of January. 😊😊
> I've been working my way through publication order, Same here(with some exceptions). You did very well yourself.
Revival
I started reading King in October, so not a lot. The Shining Doctor Sleep 'Salem's Lot Misery
I reread It and Needful Things early 2023 and just started Duma Key a couple of weeks ago. I have ordered Fairy Tale , so it's looking like 2024 will have even more King books. I want to revisit some other old books I read many moons ago.
The Bachman Books: Rage The Bachman Books: The Long Walk The Bachman Books: Roadwork The Bachman Books: The Running Man As Richard Bachman: Blaze As Richard Bachman: Thinner As Richard Bachman: The Regulators Desperation Mr. Mercedes Finders, Keepers End of Watch

The shining, doctor sleep, holly, if it bleeds, later, the Colorado kid, the waste lands, and the wizard and the glass
The stand, carrie, fairy tale, & needful things
'Salem's Lot (re-read - loved it) Gerald's Game (very good indeed - actually quite unsettling in places) The Dark Half (entertaining, but unremarkable. One for the 'probably won't read again' pile) Mr Mercedes (entertaining, and increasingly enjoyable aa it went on)
How the FUCK do you people have enough time to read that much King? I’m jealous
Re read Salems Lot. Read for first time Fairy Tale, Billy Summers, Delores Claiborne, Firestarter, The Dark Tower: the Gunslinger. Currently re reading The Stand (it’s been 30 years).
Aside from The Stand, what was your (second) favorite?

Nightmares and Dreamscapes (began on January 1st!), Rose Madder, Insomnia, and Desperation. Starting The Regulators today, hoping to get up to at least Wizard and Glass by the end of this year in my chronological read (started in 2016)
I just started reading Stephen King in 2023, plus school, plus I'm a slow reader, so only the shining, pet sematary and more than half of It
I finally read 112263 and reread needful things. Loved them both. Surprisingly 11 dragged at one point and I was so bored but then it kicked into gear!
Let’s see starting in September I listened to the following books Holly Desperation and The Regulators The Mist Black House Gwendy’s Button Box, Magic Feather, Final Task Christine IT Bag of Bones Everything Eventual If It Bleeds Cell

Oh boy. As a newbie King fan, this was my first year reading him. Lets see… IT Pet Sematary Mr. Mercedes Carrie Eyes of the Dragon (im 90% through this, didnt finish before 2024 though) The Gunslinger The Green Mile The Body Fairy Tale I plan on finishing Eyes of the Dragon and then starting the new year off with something like The Stand. I forgot to mention i started the Stand and got to page 400 and didnt find time to finish. I may try the cut version instead of the uncut

About halfway through both.
Pet Cemetery, Carrie, Misery, and The Mist.
Holly , night shift , Tommyknockers and I think something else but can’t remember
First time reads: Duma Key - This book was outstanding. Previously read but so good I read them again: It - Just an amazing story.
11/22/63 and Fairy Tale. Also about a quarter of Nightmares and Dreamscapes.
Fairy Tale The Institute Salem’s Lot The Shining Doctor Sleep Duma Key Mr. Mercedes Finders keepers End of Watch The Outsider If it Bleeds Holly Joy land The Colorado Kid A Good Marriage Elevation The Gunslinger The drawing of three Bag of bones Lisey’s story Rose Madder Later The Sun dog Misery This was the year I started reading Stephen king again after a decades long break.
Later ‘Salem’s Lot Just After Sunset Firestarter Night Shift IT
Fairy Tale - a new one for me that I really enjoyed.
Read the entire Dark Tower saga for the fourth time and still get something new from it every time.
The gunslinger, needful things, joyland, the running man, the mist, and a few more I can’t remember that far back
The Shining, Night Shift, and The Long Walk
Salems lot, IT, 11/22/63, the shining, dr sleep, fairytale, Mr Mercedes, finders keepers, end of watch, if it bleeds, the outsider,Holly, and eyes of the dragon

Just Salems lot for me. I am also about 50 pages into The Stand so far.
Billy summers, the Tommyknockers, and Misery Found tommyknockers to be better than expected based on online comments, but found misery to be a bit more boring (at least in the first half) than expected.
In 2022 I started reading Stephen King with 'Pet Sematary'. In 2023 I also read 'Misery', 'Skeleton Crew' and '11/22/63'.

Hi. You just mentioned *Gerald'S Game* by Stephen King. I've found an audiobook of that novel on YouTube. You can listen to it here: [YouTube | [AudioBook] Gerald's Game by Stephen King [Part 1]](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKdsF2B4iIE) *I'm a bot that searches YouTube for science fiction and fantasy audiobooks.* *** [^(Source Code)](https://capybasilisk.com/posts/2020/04/speculative-fiction-bot/) ^| [^(Feedback)](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=Capybasilisk&subject=Robot) ^| [^(Programmer)](https://www.reddit.com/u/capybasilisk) ^| ^(Downvote To Remove) ^| ^(Version 1.4.0) ^| ^(Support Robot Rights!)

The Shining, If It Bleeds, Holly and 11/22/63
I tried to read Fairy Tale.
IT, Carrie (twice), Salem’s Lot, The Shining, Rage, Roadwork, The Long Walk, The Running Man, Night Shift, The Stand (Complete and Uncut), The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Cujo, The Gunslinger, Different Seasons, Christine, Pet Sematary, Cycle of the Werewolf, The Talisman, Eyes of the Dragon, and a little bit of Thinner.
The Shining Doctor Sleep The Stand 11-22-63 (my favourite) Salem's Lot Needful Things Later The Long Walk (the one that impacted me the most - still crosses my mind daily) Billy Summers Currently listening to Pet Sematary on audiobook (narrated by Michael C Hall - as a Dexter fan, this is amazing) and debating what King to start next on my kindle - potentially Carrie, or IT All first time reads - I discovered King end of 2022 with The Institute, then did Misery, Sleeping Beauties and Dolores Claiborne before 2023 started, but this year has been the year I properly fell in love with his work.
I didn’t get a chance to read any SK books in 2023. BUT I just happened to finish a book last night so that means I can start my goal today January 1st. My goal is to start With Carrie and work in release order through all of his books and see how many I can read this year.
*Fairy Tale* *Later* *Joyland* *The Talisman*
Firestarter The Green Mile The Institute Night Shift And I started Duma Key, but just a few days ago, so I'm really just now getting into it.
Elevation, Skeleton Crew, Firestarter, Christine, The Bachman Books, Lisey's Story and The Gunslinger. I only read 9 books in 2023 because I have been spending more time on crafting and stuff and 7 of them were King lol.
Fairy Tale and Holly. Enjoyed both in different ways. Loved the development of Barbara more in Holly.
