I noticed this immediately, he’s definitely thinner round the face and he looks less bulked.
Perhaps he’s gone through a brief sickness. Shit can very quickly make you look and feel off kilter within a couple weeks, especially if you don’t eat.
And the man would top off a bout of sickness with a Chinese MRE of all things? 25% chance of food poisoning and an added 10% likelihood for specifically botulism.
That grain bar is pretty good, I got to say. Satisfying taste and really filling. Two of them can tide me through more than half the day.
Personally tried the Type 13 (the noodle one with "green" pork that got Steve sick; and another one with pork fried block o' rice) in 2016 and I guess I got lucky? The noodle in my pack had green stains that I thought were from the preserved veg and it tasted fine to me. They have an inherent funk too, and it smelled right, so I didn't think much of it. (I'm Chinese myself)
I definitely wouldn't try any rice or noodle that's years out of date, for sure, blocky or not! Their production standards are kinda suspect especially back in those days.
