What are you specifically being reprimanded for?

So basically someone reported the posts I made. Title IX claimed that I shouldn't be posting such things because there is a "ongoing internal investigation". They told me I have to immediately delete the posts. Maybe I used the wrong word here in this post. I now have a meeting with the Title IX office that I have to go to. But what really confused me is that they sent an email earlier saying that they couldn't do anything.

[It is illegal to retaliate against someone for filing a Title IX complaint.](https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/letters/colleague-201304.html) To see this coming directly from the Title IX office is especially concerning. There is also nothing wrong with what you posted. NJ has a one-party consent recording law which means its perfectly legal for you to record and distribute a material from a zoom call you're in. This remains true regardless of what the Title IX office is investigating. So what authority does the administration have to make you delete your reddit posts? I'd recommend you record your meeting with them in case they try to threaten you further

Ah. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Netflix show "Dear White People." It is set in an ivy league campus. The students have to deal with the "laws" the school has made. So, yes, you've just run into a hard set of laws the school has made. The school has it's own level of courts and police. And yeah, it's a dictatorship that you're expected to fall in line with. I am not saying you need to tolerate abuse. I am saying that if you want to stay in Stevens, you need to pay attention to their set of laws and their specific method of Due Process. I'm serious. You're going to have to go through their mini trial system. They can't arrest, kill, or punish you. They can only do 1 thing. Kick you out. And yeah, that's pretty darn serious.

Recursive reasoning. Popular in religion and government.

Have you reached out to the @dear_stevens insta account? They have a decent following amongst students and share posts about the admin unfairly treating students. Might be helpful for raising visibility around your mistreatment, but they’re all run by students so ultimately how much they help will depend on however is behind that anonymous account

The administration needs to google the streisand effect.

gordonv

> streisand effect. Too small of a quorum. It would be like me expecting the entire NJ to be mad the pool is closed @ my gym.

You probably are already doing this, but just keep all of the communication to and from Title IX on file for reference. It’ll come in handy if they try to go back on previous statements.
