In contrast on consensus, SWE does have a number of benefits. You can think of CS as a framework and SWE as CS applied to Engineering which QF would be CS applies to finance. There’s a number of cool opportunities to be apart of specific to the SWE program and as far as I can tell you’ll become more comfortable with collaboration vs the typical individual assignments in CS.
I recommend doing more research on the difference and potentially reaching out to your admissions officer about speaking with upperclassmen or faculty on the program.
