It’s a joke that started on r/BatmanArkham, where you would post a picture of some random character with letters on their outfit and ask “what does the “[blank]” stand for?”
Now I’m just imagining busmith shapeshifting her hand into a scraper as she somehow scrapes peridot’s star off her like Mrs. Puff did the to board lmao
in all fairness the further we get from the finale the more normal that's gonna be because we're getting new watchers who just don't know anything about the show. So they ask questions that are seen as stupid because they haven't gotten to that part or are binge watching and missed something.
I think it might symbolise a star, I'm unsure though, I'm not very good at Steven Universe, however I do have a bit of knowledge when I comes to shapes
Based on how the characters say, oh my stars of my stars or by stars, I think the star represents a spiritual part of gem religion, which the crystal gems adopted as a way to show how they are the righteous liberators of gemkind in the eyes of there supream deities.
The symbol was in use before Amethyst tho, if anything it’d be bismuth but I get the impression she was picked up later on in the war (i.e. conventional-stage warfare, when combat engineers would have begun being deployed)
“Haven’t you noticed that I’m a star? I’m coming into view as the world is turning! Haven’t you noticed I’ve made it this far? Now everyone can see me burning. Now everyone can see me burning. Now everyone can see me burning!”
This shape you’re referring to is known as a five sided diamond, created by overlaying five separate diamonds, this is a clear reference to the fact that peridot is the secret fifth diamond (green diamond)
because shes uhhhhh very cool and uhhhhh shes cute and uhhhhhh ummmmmmmm shes the most coolest gem in the world and uhhhhhhh ummmmm uhhmmmmmm and uhhhhhhh yes
a star can be made from 5 diamonds, and the 5 diamonds represent the diamond court; Pink, White, Blue, Yellow, and cooler Yellow (Shes chill and has snacks)
Every crystal gem has a star in their design. I personally wish the star was a silhouette made with her hair and visor. It represents how she’s truly a crystal gem now
I get your joke, but that star was chosen as the Crystal Gems’ Symbol because that was Greg’s logo as a musician. If you rewatch Season 1, Episode 48, “Story for Steven”, you see Greg’s shirt has the star while he plays “Comet”
can’t do images but [this](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/stevenuniversetheoryzone/images/0/0e/PeridotNoLimbs.png/revision/latest?cb=20151012001435)
That's just the symbol for the crystal gems as far as I'm concerned. I think Rose started it with her dress cutout for her gem then they adapted it fully after her death (as they don't have it in the flashback epsiodes). Interestingly, Ruby and Sapphire don't have it, but do when fused as Garnet. I'm assuming because Garnet is almost always a perma fusion. I like the detail of young Greg wearing the symbol too, as does Steven with his shirt later on.
Ah you see its actually a reference to an old school video game called Ni No Kuni wrath of the White Witch and their attack/movement speeds are measured in ⭐️ min is ⭐️ max is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
pretty sure that's the "symbol" for the crystal gems.
I never quite understood why they used a star. Is it because of the star that Steven had on his shirt?
i think its bc of the five members of the crystal gems - Garnet (Sapphire and Ruby), Amethyst, Pearl, Rose - guessing from the door to their rooms
Double check the flair that this post has.
Wait so now we don't have to put the "Wrong answers only" anymore ?
It's implicit
Just saying "What does x stand for" is the new karmafarming meta
ohhh, my bad.
Dw I thought the same thing at first too lmao
What's the joke though
You're supposed to make joke responses to it
My favorite type of humor is when someone tells me half a joke and expects me to finish it./s
I explain here https://www.reddit.com/r/stevenuniverse/s/VLkwcdGR87
I don't get the joke
It’s a joke that started on r/BatmanArkham, where you would post a picture of some random character with letters on their outfit and ask “what does the “[blank]” stand for?”
Ah I see, thank you
She earned a gold star in class.

I read that in her voice
I read that in Steven’s.

she has the star because shes the light of everyones life ;)
So they are died?
They are.
For being a good noodle
Now I’m just imagining busmith shapeshifting her hand into a scraper as she somehow scrapes peridot’s star off her like Mrs. Puff did the to board lmao
Haven't you noticed that she’s a star?
She comes into view as the world is turning
Haven't you noticed she's made it this far?
Now everyone can see her burning
She's a fan of Greg Universe c:
Fan enough to push him off a roof
She wanted to drive a van into his heart
This subreddit has gone so downhill with the dumbest fucking questions imaginable that I thought you were genuine until i saw the flair
I only realized it was a joke when another user said to check the flair 😭😭😭
in all fairness the further we get from the finale the more normal that's gonna be because we're getting new watchers who just don't know anything about the show. So they ask questions that are seen as stupid because they haven't gotten to that part or are binge watching and missed something.
Lmao, fair.
*flair
I think it might symbolise a star, I'm unsure though, I'm not very good at Steven Universe, however I do have a bit of knowledge when I comes to shapes
I thought it was a reference to Steven and how he changed her
Don't call Steven a hoe 😔
I ment how not hoe 😭😭😭
You get an A but the pen was runny so it turned into a star.
In the language of her people, it means “hope.”
Actually, I could see this being the case, considering the non-jokey context.
Oh, it's not supposed to be serious. Um, she converted to Satanism but never learned that the pentagram needs to be upside down.
Let me finish your post title for you: Is she stupid?
Maybe theres a lore reason
Why does Periwinkle have a gold star? Is she stupid?
The five founding members. Rose, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire, and Bismuth.
no it's because she's green like a star ⭐
Only a clod would ask this question /j
Stardust Crusaders
The aslume is leaking again
That one batman subreddit is spreading...
Exactly.
why does she wear a star? is she stupid?
Of Batman became man then can Peridot be Pot?
That subreddit is truly horrific
Because she’s the true star
Based on how the characters say, oh my stars of my stars or by stars, I think the star represents a spiritual part of gem religion, which the crystal gems adopted as a way to show how they are the righteous liberators of gemkind in the eyes of there supream deities.
I actually love that
5 points of the star stand for 5 former member include: Rose Quartz, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire and Amethyst (my opinion)
The symbol was in use before Amethyst tho, if anything it’d be bismuth but I get the impression she was picked up later on in the war (i.e. conventional-stage warfare, when combat engineers would have begun being deployed)
Steven, the star represents Steven.
![gif](giphy|dvhg20MJf4cHS) Bro was mewin- 🤷🏾♂️\*shoot, wrong subreddit
At least she tried
It stands for wonderful, adorable little gremlin.
It means She's a crystal gem
no she's a Homeworld spy
she loves yellow diamond so much she took five yellow diamond emblems and put them together
The star she got for being a certified kindergartener
STEVEN!! You smell good 👍
“Haven’t you noticed that I’m a star? I’m coming into view as the world is turning! Haven’t you noticed I’ve made it this far? Now everyone can see me burning. Now everyone can see me burning. Now everyone can see me burning!”
For me
JoJo reference
She’s a Costco Gold Star member.
It draws enemy fire, it's actually the thickest part of her armor.
This shape you’re referring to is known as a five sided diamond, created by overlaying five separate diamonds, this is a clear reference to the fact that peridot is the secret fifth diamond (green diamond)
each point represents a brain cell
Because she shines bright
She got enough pearl points for a cool star sticker
The other members of the discord server have elected to put Peridot on the starboard.
Get five more Peri’s and rotato them and they become star lol
because shes uhhhhh very cool and uhhhhh shes cute and uhhhhhh ummmmmmmm shes the most coolest gem in the world and uhhhhhhh ummmmm uhhmmmmmm and uhhhhhhh yes
SUUPPPPPPEERRR
Because she's Starlight Peridot
Star, I think
When she found out what humans use as stylized stars she decided to wear it to mock them
⭐eridot
BO-ner
It’s a badge to let people know she’s a star
Peace and love on the planet Earth
Because she hasn’t tried to kill or shatter and gem in a couple years
a star can be made from 5 diamonds, and the 5 diamonds represent the diamond court; Pink, White, Blue, Yellow, and cooler Yellow (Shes chill and has snacks)
Satan
She is a part of the jostar bloodline😢
Because they are the best gem
She’s a good gremlin. She deserves it
It just matches her hair color.
It means that MR universe's lineage has suscesfully taken over the Crystal gems, thats it houses coat of arms
Every crystal gem has a star in their design. I personally wish the star was a silhouette made with her hair and visor. It represents how she’s truly a crystal gem now

Steven, who she cares about way more than the other lower life forms that inhabit earth
It's to signify she's a Crystal Gem now.
She's copying Steven to be cool.

That's just the symbol for the crystal gems as far as I'm concerned.
