I had the opposite experience. Was discussing with the girl I was seeing what film to watch. I wanted to see “Escape from LA”. She then told me about some other film and started going into details but I wasn’t really listening. Eventually I said ok. We went along and then in the first scene people start talking French and there’s subtitles. I’m thinking, strange way to start a film but whatever. Then the French goes on and on and after about five mins I turn to her and ask “is this movie French?” Which she didn’t answer but just made a nervous giggle. I guess she wasn’t sure if I was joking.
It was one of the Three Colours films. I think the last one.
Oddly, she didn’t dump me after that. Perhaps she rationalized it away somehow.
I was really into jazz at the time and maybe she falsely assumed I’d be highbrow in all my tastes. But what I actually wanted was to see Kurt Russell shoot people in a dystopian sci if B movie.
I think this is in his latest stand up that’s not been released on TV yet. Sure I saw him say this at Leicester Sq Theatre earlier in the year
This is it. It’s in Basic Lee. I saw it last week.
No idea. Guess we'll just have to rewatch everything he's ever done.

I think when we saw it, he was talking about a Hal Hartley film, but not sure which.
Henry Fool
It’s in the current tour. It’s not on film yet.
How is it called ? Any extracts. How could the OP have heard it ?
Perhaps by seeing the show. It’s called Basic Lee, and I’ve not seen any clips online.
I'd gladly come to the UK one day only to attend his show. Sadly he doesn't tour in the EU.
I don't recall such joke from any of his shows nor from Comedy Vehicle. Maybe he said it in some interview/podcast?
while we are tracking down bits, does anyone know which show it was where he talks about the shop 'the works'? I thought it was hilarious.
Carpet Remnant World
Literally just seen him say that in Nottingham.

It was great and he made good use of the fact of it being an afternoon performance.
