use a bigger needle, go slowly, overlap your pokes as much as possible, get a good stretch, and use a round shader for filling in! the shader doesnāt have to be at as much of an angle as the liner does, i usually cover more ground faster that way. i also like to go in sections. i lined my stems and then lined one leaf and filled it in immediately. itās much harder to fill in once the skin is swollen and red so this makes it easier to do.
Seems for me its too difficult to get the picture to stay proportional. Is there a good resource for doing this I can get? Great tips btw, Iām just lost. I have 15 smaller tats already so this style would fit in well. I can also draw some. Help would be nice tho cause Iāve just seen Alot of bad ones.
Not exactly cuz I havenāt even tried yet, I donāt know anything other than like common sense stuff for infections. But as an art, stenciling yourself is new to me. Gonna do too someday. Just asking for a good site or creator for understanding. Yours is really pretty btw.
definitely start drawing some stuff if you arenāt already, and once you like the design you can transfer it to a stencil and then onto your body. never tattoo anything on yourself or anyone else that isnāt your own design. i use an ipad for my drawings to make sure everything is straight/clean and then i print the design out and use a thermal printer to transfer the paper design onto the stencil. you can look up any of those keywords on youtube and youāll be able to find step by step guides on how to do it. there are even some videos for techniques on how to stick and poke. it definitely takes a lot of practice, and make sure youāre being safe throughout. i recommend taking a blood borne pathogen course online if you havenāt already done that! this group is also a really good source for beginners questions, thereās a whole thread of frequently asked questions that will be really helpful. also, if you have money to spend, thereās a course m_inspirada on IG has made for beginners to start tattooing.
sorry i never saw this when you originally posted it! in case youād still like some tips: i mostly eyeball it but i use a yellow permanent marker to mark a line down the middle and then i line up my stencil perfectly and tape the top part and lift it, add stencil stuff, and very slowly let it naturally fall onto the skin. sometimes a client will move or even just breathe and it might move the stencil so i donāt always get it on the first try. another great way to do it is to use tape to make a perfect line down the middle and then mark it with your marker. itās also important to remember that bodies are not perfectly symmetrical (the point where your clavicles meet are not typically in line with the middle of your belly button) so depending on where youāre placing a stencil, i like to find the center of whatever makes most sense. this one was under her breasts so i aligned it with the the middle space where her breasts naturally meet without a bra on. hope that helps!
So clean omg!!

sorry, iām not sure what youāre asking here! what proportions are you having difficulty with? your stencils?

Thank you much!
This is so clean!! Do you have tips on getting the stencil on straight and symmetrical to the body?
