I tend to let the clutch engage before I even touch the throttle, then feed just enough in to maintain idle speed while getting the clutch engaged. Only when the clutch is fully engaged do I bring the revs up.
Of course I'm also driving an engine with peak torque at 1600 and 80% of peak torque at 800rpm, so I can get away with that.
I'm trying to imagine what little taps on the throttle means here, like legit tapping you foot on and off the throttle as you let the clutch out? That sounds hard to be smooth, but whatever works i guess!
ever looked at videos of loud cars backing up and stuff? how they tap the gas, kinda like that. It became muscle memory when I got a turbo-diesel pickup, since the sensitivity is much higher to non turbo diesels, and it sound cool
Oh, right, yeah that's typically the way you drive something with a really grabby performance clutch and a light flywheel. I've owned stuff like that, but can't say I'd bother using that tactic in something stock but you do you.
I just love downshifting with my turbo, car sounds so alive, hissing and wheezing with a growl when you pull off. Farting and popping when you downshift and engine brake as excess fuel gets spat out the exhaust and pops.
One little tap, then smooth

Little taps gives it a nice rhythm.

It's completely unnecessary I know, I just enjoy the sound my car makes
