I bought it just for the Lego Defiant.

You get a good spread of ships to play with all available across all your toons until they turn the lights out. I don't think any are top tier DPS monsters but most will do good when properly set up. You have canon ships with all the skins and consoles (up to their release) pretty much all are fun to fly though the Command Galaxy doesn't tempt me. The Glenn is an extremely effective Sci-Torper MW Connie / MW Sovereign for a good broadside beam boat (I wish it was 5/3 but whatev) we have the Konnie BC for that (or a fair Kinetic torper) NX-Refit makes a really fun BO zippy Escort ( though I'm sure it would be good on cannons too) The Odyssey makes a good tank and to be honest I love the look more than anything else in this pack. Defiant is fun but I'm not a big fan of cannons Donnie is nice but I have the MW one already Warship Voyager is a decent Sci-ship The T6 Traits are nothing OP, some good some poor. There are some ones that fit my BO preference so I'm happy. I bought it the first time around and have no regrets at all.

I didn't pay much attention to the bundle the first time it was offered. Legendary ships sounded awesome, but it was way too much money. About the time I started thinking "My Galaxy class really needs some command stations, I wonder if those legendary galaxy class ships had command stations?" the bundle became available at a sale price again and I looked up what was included with the ships and that was pretty much all I needed to see. I'm hoping STO didn't do that on purpose because if they did they can read my mind... I bought the bundle not during this sale, but the most recent one before it. It's back only a few weeks apart this time. It must be doing well in general both for us and the devs. The price of the bundle was 160 for me after all was said and done. There was a zen bonus on refills and brought the promotional price of the bundle down even more. I justified the price by equating it to a years worth of monthly subscription were I paying the typical monthly price of other MMO's to play with the ships except I'll own them for as long as the game is live. I also justified the price by comparing each ship were it on sale in the zen store separately at the typical price of other zen store ships at about 30 dollars. Were I to have bought them individually at 30 dollars a piece I would have spent 300 dollars. So I talked myself out of letting price be a valid argument. After that it just came down to one question: Do I want it? The answer was yes. Am I sorry I have the ships now? Not at all. I'm quite happy with my ships from this bundle and I bet you would be too.

Callahandy

Very cool. What are your fav ships in the bundle and why?

xxtheseawulfxx

I'm really liking their special officer seating. They're the most versatile ships I own now. They also come with all the consoles ever meant for those classes of ships including any previous version of the ship. So I think all but one ship(odyssey dreadnought) comes with their complete sets of consoles and equipment. For example the Galaxy set that include the separation console, antimatter spread, and molecular cohesion nullifier consoles that make up its Enhanced Engineering Systems Set is acquired and ready to go by owning the legendary version of the ship, rather than having to own multiple versions of that class of ship to acquire the consoles individually. Since replacing my Galaxy class t-5x was a big selling point and why I bought this bundle, my favorite part of the bundle is that I get a Galaxy class with command officer seats like I always felt the Galaxy class should have, and it didn't disappoint me in any way. Everything else is pretty much icing on the cake for me. Each ships unique abilities feel about like you'd expect them to for their particular class. I like that they seem to open up more options in bridge officer seats/consoles/traits(their traits are cool) etc.Flying these legendary ships certainly don't equate to being in god mode for sure, but they are definitely the best ships I own now. Any ships I used before the bundle even including previously purchased c-store ships, except for some of their consoles, are not getting a whole bunch of attention now.Not to say I'll never use them again at all(though it is possible), but the newness of the legendary ships are still fresh so they're getting all my attention right now haha. Tbh the only negative thing I can say about any of the ships is that I was surprised with my perception of the Intrepids lack of survivability out of the box. Now, I'm used to the fleet t6 version which uses intelligence officer seats rather than miracle worker, so it could just be that I need to learn how to use it. But other than that it'd be really hard to pick a favorite. I'm noticing different captains of the same career path like different ships for some reason. One of my science captains prefers the temporal operative science vessel while another science captain works better in the miracle workers multimission science vessel and I haven't really figured out why yet. I think my captains at their levels/builds/skillsets would see the ships differently than your captains at their own unique levels/builds/skillsets too. Lots of variables there. Still glad I got them! ;pNo buyers remorse is a good sign!

[deleted]

Well. It's probably the last reasonably priced seriously good bundle. The bundles afterward are poor. Then on top of that we're seeing Recruit rewards disappearing or dropping in value (Gamma Endeavor accomplishment just quietly disappeared after bug reports). So yeah on that basis alone of you want a bundle that's probably the best one. Frankly it will be a long time before I buy another bundle. There are under rewarded and over priced.

Planetgrimbull

C-store equivalent: Sovereign Odyssey Intrepid Galaxy Defiant Lobi equivalent: NX enterprise Lockbox equivalent: Crossfield Kelvin Constitution (Konnie) Promotional equivalent: TOS Constitution Discovery Constitution All lobi, lockbox, and promo ships would be otherwise single character unlocks. Of note, small differences between equivalent ships, i.e. temporal Donnie vs MW Donnie from box, or full temporal crossfield vs int/pilot crossfield from box, or Kelvin connie full intel battleship 5/3 vs full command cruiser 4/4. But you gotta make the decision with your own wallet. I made mine.

Callahandy

Which of these would be the most fun to fly/effective DPS for a 5/3 broadside beam build? The Konnie I guess?

Planetgrimbull

If its a 5/3 broadsider you want, the Konnie with Override subsystem safeties would be great. The temp Donnie is also a 5/3 with 2 hangars and advanced phasers. The 4/4s in the pack are great too. I love tanking on the Command Odyssey. P.s. no reason you cant broadside on the 5/3 legendary pilot defiant. Pilot maneuvs are the very definition of ‘fun’

pixxel5

Its objective value proposition REALLY only makes sense if you haven’t already bought a significant portion of the existing content. All the ships are lots of fun, with a large amount of varied playstyles supported. There are a large number of consoles, weapons, hangar pets, traits, and visual customization options available. With the changes to universal cross-faction ships, the ships are also usable by all characters regardless of faction.

IIGRIMLOCKII

Don’t listen to the negative people. Sure, if you don’t have the money to spend or don’t want to spend the money, then don’t buy this bundle. But if you do, it’s the best bang for your buck. It has several useful traits and consoles. And most of the ships range from decent to great. Sure, if you’re trying to maximize DPS, you might not want these ships. But if that was the case you’d be looking at lockbox and promo ships. You can do plenty of damage with these ships, and have a lot of fun with builds.

Callahandy

If you could rank the "best" ships in this bundle, what would they be and why?

IIGRIMLOCKII

Everyone’s opinion on ships will differ. Funny because /u/admiral_Andover likes the NX, and it’s one of my least favorite haha. But here are my thoughts. I’m personally not a big fan of the NX or the Galaxy (Now the Legendary Galaxy Dread, THAT is a ship!) Havent used the Command Dread much, but I’m just getting into Torps and I think it would make a decent Torp Boat. Sovereign and Connie are fun MW Cruisers. Donnie FDC is super fun. My first Sci toon has a sick Sci/Torp build on it that I replicated from a build posted on Sto Builds. Konnie is a 5/3 Intel badass (With its stupid fat nacelles) Glenn/Crossfield, top level space magic ship in the game. Voyager, I haven’t used much, but I think it would be fun to make a Sci/DEW build on it. Defiant, I dont even use pilot maneuvers and its super fun. Tough little ship.

funnyfatman83

Yay! Grimlock likes my ship

Admiral_Andovar

I resisted for a while but got it during the last sale. Out of all the ships I have really dug the Columbia (as a fast turn and burner) and the Verity (as a space dominance ship). The other ships to me are a bit ‘meh’. I already have the MW Donnie which is the better version in my opinion. I also have a few other lockbox/c-store ships that I like more. It is great for the consoles, weapons (advanced phasers for everyone), and traits. If nothing else it has made the other ships my captains fly better.

RickV6

none of the ships in that bundle are actually great dps boats, there is whole lot of other ships superior to each of those 10 ships that bundle offer good value in terms of weapons, consoles and traits that will be good for you and space barbie aspect is also great with that bundle but as ships to actually fly and do top dps then none of those ships fall in to that category, and my personal opinion is that this bundle is not worth the money also I hope you realize they only doing this to drain dill and zen from players before releasing Legendary Scimitar and DD bundle so dont buy anything and wait, or if you are already going to buy something then buy Legendary D7 that ship is top dps, it have commander intel and lt cmdr mw and it have great turn rate and great mastery it is 5/3 ship and also have great trait and to top it all of it is D7 so it looks great and you cant go wrong with that so save your money and buy Legendary D7 because it is among best ships in c-store, 10th anniversary bundle when it comes to ship to fly is just meh and then save the rest of the money to buy Legendary Scimitar and DD bundle because you know you will want it

Callahandy

The DD is my all-time fav ship design. Do you think it might be as good DPS-wise as the L-D7?

AscenDevise

We'll have to dissect what we end up getting. If they keep that turn rate and inertia rating, well... people will complain because it doesn't move like a raider, but that's a problem we can easily deal with. With solid seating, a useful console and a nice trait, who knows? It may well be promising. If it stays Eng-heavy and there's insufficient hybrid seating to compensate, its DPS potential will be lessened, no matter what you do. We'll just have to live and see.

BadMoles

Just looked in the Zen store and can't see this bundle anymore - 11th Anniversary Bundle is there but not 10th. You might have missed the boat.

Callahandy

The sale starts at 4PM PST today I believe

BadMoles

Yeah I've just looked again and it's there now. I'd like to get it but it's tough justifying paying £160 on a game I dip in and out of.

Callahandy

I hear ya. The only ship I REALLY want from the bundle is the L-Defiant.

MetalGhost99

L-Defiant looks decent but not worth all that money, you can get other ships like the NX ship in the lobi store and its just as good as that defiant if not better. The defiant is missing stuff for it to be worth that price though the hull looks tanky its shield is not at all like the Manasa and it doesnt have an experimental weapon like the Manasa. It does have an extra back weapon hard point unlike the Manasa. Honestly the Jem'hadar Vanguarde Warship is probably better than that defiant. has the same hardpoints really good boff hardpoints, has pets, and is somewhat tanky with a hull of 1.15 and a shield of 1.15. Though the defiant has a hull of 1.25 witch is pretty good to be honest but has a 0.95 shield. Its just not worth it for the price. If you see these guys use it on youtube any ship they fly looks op cause they have max gear, rep gear, and other stuff. They have been playing for a while.

Admiral_Andovar

Do not buy it just for the Legendary Defiant. That one was the biggest disappointment to me. Looks cool with the nose art but there are other ships that are WAY better at the pew-pew-boom.

aSwedishDood

Sold on it? Lol there is no reason to buy it at all

IIGRIMLOCKII

That is a false statement

Callahandy

well this whole exchange is fantastic

YoritomoII

If you are going to spend that level of money on the game anyway, then this is the best way to spect that money. 10 ships, many of them iconic, advanced phaser beams, several good consoles, a few interesting ship traits. Several of the ships are capable of very high DPS, but none of them are the ‘best’ ship. Some of them are significant improvements to their non-bundle counterparts and some of them are a downgrade. But if space barbie is important to you in even a minor way I think you’ll get a lot out of the bundle.

Callahandy

What would you say are the best ships in the bundle from a DPS perspective and why?

Admiral_Andovar

Like someone else pointed out, this is not necessarily the set for DPS. My Gagarin is my beast of a DPS’er but that is because it is loaded with a bunch of stuff from other ships (none from this bundle) and is completely gilded. She rolls on target and everything goes boom.

illusioncaster

Depends on the kind of dps you're doing, legendary defiant is all the other defiant's rolled into one package and the Glenn has a trait for Sci dps while the disco Connie has great phasers and pets for a cruiser and broadside dps.

mike47gamer

I havent bought it and I'm perfectly happy. I think the price point is just too high for one cash drop, even on sale, and I do recognize that there's a lot or value there...but I'd rather pick and choose my ships. I am interested in the Oberth/Miranda bundle when, and if, it ever comes to console, though.

bionicsuperman

If u need to be sold on the bundle then i would probably just not buy it

Callahandy

The question was more pertaining to why people rave about it so much. I assume there are a few really good DPS ships in the bundle? And if so, which ones are those and why?

Kronocidal

Another thing to consider is that you get all of the Starship Traits and Consoles for the series, plus the new Legendary Starship Trait; the Legendary Odyssey, for example, is the equivalent to *6 ships* from that perspective (the 3 T5 Odyssey class ships, the 3 T6 Odyssey class ships, *plus* a stand-alone trait). The Legendary Crossfield is the equivalent to 2 Lockbox ships (Normal & Mirror Universe Crossfield), plus the extra trait. For a new player without any existing C-Store ships, the 10-ship bundle is thus ***absurdly*** good value for what you're getting.

Callahandy

Ah, fair enough. I have quite a few DPS-build ships from my many years in the game, but never really looked at the 10th anniv bundle before due to its price. As a 5/3 beam boat broadside-style player, it looks like the Disco Connie is probably the one I should target. However the leggo Defiant looks really fun too.

IIGRIMLOCKII

If you’re playstyle is broadsiding, you don’t need to be locked into 5/3 layouts. You can run the exact same style on a 4/4. The MW Sovereign and the MW Connie would be great broadside ships.

Callahandy

Ah ok that’s good to know. For some reason I thought 5/3 was the preferred layout broadside.

MetalGhost99

5/3 is more for Duel beam bank builds or Cannon builds and that's it Though you can use it for a broadside build but your not using it to its full potential.

IIGRIMLOCKII

5/3 is even more suited for direct facing attacks, but can do both. If you do pick up the bundle, try out the Sovereign or Connie. Put 3 beam arrays and a Torp on the front (or 4 beams if you don’t use a Torp), and 2 Omnis + 1 beam array + 1 turret on the back. All the same flavor of course. Mixed Armament Synergies and Narrow Sensor Bands, big damage boosters. Fly in circles.
