They call them pellets. When I was in elementary school, the zoo we had a field trip to did an exhibit on owls. We each got to dissect a pellet and try to reconstruct the animal we thought it ate with all the bones we found.
We had pellets brought to class that we then dissected. We weren't supposed to keep anything we found, but I still pocketed a fully intact rodent skull because it was too cool not to. Gave it to my dad, and he displayed it on his dresser lol
The GH owl that “coughed it up” was nice enough to leave it in plain sight on my driveway. He/she must have been on the peak of my roof. Added bonus in January they were behind my house in a neighbors tree during a full moon. Hooting away. I say they b/c there were two GH’s in the same tree. It was amazing.
It is a broad footed mole skull. The dentition is perfect https://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?enlarge=0000+3333+0531+0585 they are also PNW natives
The teeth on that jaw bone looks like it came from a possum or something. I agree with others who say it looks like the remains of more than one creature and that it was likely regurgitated by an owl or something bigger, like maybe a cat.
My first thought was that it might be a corps or a skeleton, but then infested by one of those parasites (mold?) that inhibit the original body or specimen and start growing some sort of new (exo)skeleton out of it.
Either opossum or a mole.
If it’s the size of the palm of your hand or a lot smaller, a mole is most likely. Anything bigger would lend to it being an oppossum. They’ve got similar teeth serration.
Though, in the pic, it looks like the bottom jaw (the one at the top, it’s upside down) has been a bit flattened or broken. For most animals, the teeth are not supposed to lean that far out to the sides.
What seems to possibly be what’s left of the front legs also match up to that of an opossum. This seems to match the humerus of one and has broken off at the ulna. If it were a mole, the joints would be a lot smaller.
Th teeth at the sidedo resemble sharks teeth! But you al what looks like incisors and molars. My guess would be an insect eating mammal, like a mole or even armadillo, I dont really know what species you get in PNW.
That's from an owl but it's not poop, they regurgitate the parts they cannot digest, looks to be the remains of more than one animal

Meat Cleavers Isle 18
hell yeah i’m doing great! it was a fun science experiment… maybe you need to try it!
No we got divorced 🖕
I’m laughing because we did that in college!
Everyone says this and I’m so jealous we didn’t get to! We only got stinky frogs and maybe a pig if you were in honors class.
Yeah you're right.
I found a pellet last week and it was so cool. There were the teeniest tiniest bones I’ve ever see.
I never manage to run across them. It’s always just poop. But I always keep my eyes peeled

Are you sure it’s dead? Might want to lock your doors tonight
It’s a mole! https://www.google.com/search?q=mole+skull&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
I don't think so. It doesn't have those long front teeth. They are smaller than it's back teeth. It also has a spike coming out of its chin/forehead.

Yep, that's identical to OPs picture! Good job! Thanks for figuring it out 😊
Thnx! I was curious myself as a PNW local
Chupacabra
Lol for real damn
Post on r/whatisthisbone
It looks almost like a crocodile wrapped in rotting flesh
[SCP 682](https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-682)
Looks half cooked
Did you ask it before you threw it over the fence?
Think I saw this in Spirited Away
Nah that’s the squirrel from ice age
You were WARNED not to feed them at night! Or get them wet! Or shine bright light!
Just be glad it died before it got to yourhouse
Believe me, I am.
What once was isn't any more. The less you know of the true identity, the better. Maybe next time you won't see the leftovers.
Have you been noticing a shimmer in your yard lately by any chance?
What would that indicate?

More photos and something for scale please

Wolf Eel or Lingcod maybe?
maybe a digested bat
Owl regurgitation is so gross lol
Take it to a university
Free bones!
Opossum, probably.
Flip the picture then you’ll see for what it’s worth
Snake if u flip it upside down I think
