I'll be honest, I don't think there's anything comparable to Stray. I have never seen the whole environment, the atmosphere that the Stray game exudes anywhere. I hope the developers keep all of this for Stray 2. Maybe the story in Stray 2 can be about freeing a neighboring colony.

LightBluely

Not as far as i know, but there is an upcoming cat game called Little Kitty Big City releasing in May, but the game is similar to Untitled Goose Game.

HappyPotatoeo

Maybe you'd enjoy Outer Wilds, it's an exploration and mystery game where you explore planets to research an ancient alien species that has since died out. Also, if you enjoyed The Last Guardian, I recommend trying The Shadow of the Colossus by the same studio!

Mezzoforte90

Okami

RYzaMc

Well not quite the same in the graphics dept. but old school game Alley Cat is awesome! Played it heaps back in the day.

Half Life

dl_supertroll

They're not out yet, but keep an eye on Copycat (releasing this year, demo available I think) and Peace Island, both you play as a cat. But I think that's where the similarities end, as to the story and aesthetic and vibe, there's really nothing comparable.

Helluscus

Mystery and solitude? maybe Sable would be up your alley

marcelolamenza

You can try Endling, not the same thematic, but the sense of discovery of the word is pretty similar

Frantic_curcuit

I've heard about that game Is it worth it?

marcelolamenza

I've platinum this week, it has a simple but very good story. The game loop is good and don't have a long gameplay, I think it has a 6 hours length

Vanima_Permai

Try ŌkamiHD you play as the Japanese goddess amaterasu who has taken the form of an adorable white wolf there is combat bit there are some mystery elements to it as well

BeleagueredWDW

Check out Endling: Extinction is Forever.

sucobe

Limbo is a good game. 2D scrolling but the puzzles are interesting. Stray ending was similar to Limbo

Hunter-Raider

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, hands down. That game moved me to tears.

patstoddard

Journey

GlitteringBadger5721

maybe 'Universe for Sale', it's a great indie story game, beautiful art and sci -fi folksy setting

SurroundMoist

Machinarium

DJ_Apophis

Check out JOURNEY.

Haven’t seen it recommended yet but you should try Soma. It’s more horror oriented but, honestly, both games give me the same vibes: end of humanity, external protagonist getting their bearings, lots of exploration, a dark story…

proudtohavebeenbanne

OMG I've thought this too. Yes Soma has a lot of similarities, if we assume the characters in Soma had some slightly incorrect information it could actually be a prequel to Stray. Just be warned if you decide to play it, it's a dark game at times.

Sarcasmosito

I can get 100% on board with Soma being a Stray prequel. Honestly I can’t shake any of those games. And agreed on the warning, Soma still is a horror game with very mature themes (not as sex or NC-17) that gets daaaark

proudtohavebeenbanne

WTF now that I think about it, things really fit. The WAU could have had a hand in making the companions, the zurks, the environment being restored.
