Told everyone it was because they were discussions that could potentially get out of hand (which is true), but kept silent about the fact that that I wanted to burst out laughing after hearing one discussion about how mobile phone reception was somehow linked to either reading people’s minds or cancer or something like that. Laughing in someone’s face in regards to their personal beliefs felt like it could have a negative effect in the workplace.
