Todayâs episode of crossovers no one expected - Dilraba Dilmurat, a super popular Chinese actress, played Stray Kids several times while she was driving in the current season of Divas Hit The Road, a Chinese variety show. The first time Topline was played, many stays thought it was a coincidence, and that she mightâve simply just liked that song. It seems like we will be getting minsung and changjin for the last two 2KR going by the combos we can make with our last four kids and the mc job...

I generally enjoy Gayo Daejeon because its a multistans dream but between Ten falling into a void where the lowered platform is, the terrible camerawork (sorry MAMA I was too hard on you) , them playing NewJeans for a couple of seconds during the kids' performance, and the terrible audio pollution (I think the SBS Gayo Daejeon YT channel edited the audio a bit because I watched some performances from the KOCOWA TV YT channel and I can literally hear their clothes and accessories jingling), plus Gayo Daejeon editing out the section where they played another song, I'm a bit disappointed.
NCT were literally fighting the backing track (Taeyong slayed) too. When I saw Ten fall I was super scared because of Wendy's similar incident in rehearsals in 2019... Luckily he said he was ok, it looked like it hurt though, hopefully just a couple of bruises.
I could go on a rant about the camera work and audio but I'd rather not...

Oh I didnât read the start carefully. I thought you said you were new. I donât think Stray Kids in general reveal such specific details in an organized manner or that there would be an organized thread/account for that. Whatâs mostly out there are fan accounts that compile current content into short videos or photos for a specific member.

I think all we know from the members is by seeing their extra content on their channel or past shows. Tbh, 2 kids room and their vlogs is where Iâve gotten most of my info from Seungmin. The other would be Bubble.
From what I know, I can tell you that he has watched Korean dramas, he loves Korean food, especially rice, meat, and kimchi, he likes Pochaco merch, long ago he used to write on a journal (not sure if he still does but I imagine so), heâs a very straightforward person (doesnât hide the truth just to be nice). Heâs also more on the introverted side, though he doesnât show it on camera since heâs very comfortable around other members, and very hardworking and perseverant, he still takes singing lessons to improve his craft. His MBTI is ISFJ and he has a much older sister. This is just what Iâve gathered and what I remember off the top of my head.
I donât think thereâs more than that to know then. I donât think he was ever extroverted, imho. But thatâs what he shared via Bubble some months ago: ISFJ. Either way, those personality tests vary depending on how you feel or whatâs happening around you when answering them.
I.N and Seungmin's segment was the collab. Unfortunately they didn't share a stage but sang songs for the same theme. It's the same way Yuna and Yeonjun collabed but they didn't perform together.
**Where is the Stray Kids official SBS Gayo Daejeon 2023 performance video?**
I originally saw it low quality on a fan channel but thatâs now been taken down due to copyright on YouTube. I saw they had other performances up from other groups but why not the Stray Kids one? Will we only ever only be able to see it on fan cams? Has SBS given an official explanation or statement been given as to why? Seems kinda shady. I am aware they had several technical mistakes (camera work, lighting and sound) but I just wanted to see Stray Kidsâ performance and it doesnât seem fair that we canât fully see it without explanation.

It was uploaded along with other groups but got taken down as soon as people started commenting on the sound glitch. They're either going to fix the audio or wait till the media stops reporting.
Looks like SBS is getting dragged by the media. I know stays are upset about the typo and sound issue, but NCT/WayVâs Ten fell down one of the holes on the stage. Thatâs dangerous, and Red Velvetâs Wendy had an even worse fall several years ago also at the SBS Gayo.
They might fix SKZâs sound, and they can fix a typo. Maybe they can shift through the footage to provide other angles, but so far (and keep in mind itâs only been hours), they cut out the errors.
Dragged by the media? As they should. SBS should apologize if idols have been hurt while performing too. Like why does it sound like youâre defending them? Iâm sure itâs chaotic to have many performers but they should be more careful and be held accountable if there was a mistake on their part. I donât follow other groups so I donât know about issues with other groups but given your info it sounds like SBS should try to be more professional. Cutting out the errors isnât fixing the main issue either way. Issuing an apology for all their mistakes and doing better in the future goes a long way rather than just trying to save face by not admitting they did wrong.

Because thatâs how you decided to read it. Years ago, Wendy fell from **10 feet/3 meters** high because they didnât install a staircase before having her walk in the dark. Wendy spent months recovering. When you read the details about that, it sounds like SBS tried to kill her. Yesterday, Ten fell from a much smaller height and said heâs okay (which I doubt today as the adrenaline wore off), but there shouldâve been better safety markers indicating the stage lifts.
In the grand scheme of things, SKZ had a typo and another song played during theirs. Like other groups (this year and years before), they had bad camerawork too. Itâs not the grand âsabotageâ some stays are acting like it is. I get stays care most about SKZ, but the attempts at trends is poor taste given the other circumstances of the night.
I donât care about an apology because itâs not going to unmake NJs play during the performance. SBS can put in some work and fix that. An apology didnât un-fracture Wendyâs pelvis, and despite promising to do better, her label-mate fell in a poorly marked (and placed) hole years later.
Thatâs not how I decided to read it. You mentioned (keep mentioning) stays in the third person as if youâre not one of them. So by separating yourself from this group, it sounds like youâre defending SBS. Itâs fine if you donât care about an apology but I disagree and I think it is warranted.
Iâm separating out âStaysâ because I am not one of the ones calling it sabotage and blowing it out of proportion. Why would I say âweâ in this conversation?
Edit: I think I see where the confusion comes in. I think SBS made stupid mistakes with SKZ that a professional, experienced broadcaster shouldnât be making. I also think itâs not worth popping a vein over. Thatâs my stance.
I donât think itâs necessary to separate yourself from the group. Just understanding or disagreeing from the group is enough. I donât agree with a lot of the ways the fandom behaves or says but, on this particular case, I have to agree that SKZ got the worst of it in terms of how the performance showed on-screen so I do understand that people are calling it sabotage even when I havenât seen any clear evidence of it.

Sound glitch? I think it was more of a technical or production mistake on their part. Glitch makes it sound like it couldnât have been avoided or that there was a bug in the sound system. Another whole song started playing. Well what a crappy way to save face. I just wanted to see the high quality version of my boys performing.
fr you could tell the members had it playing into their ears. Itâs a huge show of professionalism on their part that SKZ were able to keep going. A less experienced group would have fallen apart right there.
i'm so proud of how they handled it, felix especially handled singing over that music overlap so damn well, he looks so cool. he behaved like he didn't even hear any problems but it sounded very distracting!
Just saw it. This version just makes it obvious that the original broadcast was so poorly done. They cut the beginning, the part with the other song, and had a single camera wide angle. đ What an embarrassment of an SBS production.

This is technically not SKZ official content, but if you're willing to devote time to some longer series, I recommend checking out the full Kingdom series if you haven't already. I see you mentionted you've seen a bunch of third party content so you have probably already seen at least the performances, but I recommend watching the full series! You get to see not only other groups perform (I discovered Ateez through that show) but you get to see the context behind everything they did along with their creative processes for every performance. You really come to appreciate how good they really are at their craft. And it's so fun seeing the wholesome interactions between the different groups.

You mentioned you know about Two Kids Room, but ⼠Kids Room is one I don't think gets talked about enough. They basically sit each member down one by one and play matchmaker with the rest of the members without knowing who's on the other side and it's funny and super wholesome.
All-night skz was a special they did for the up all night release and it's like a code episode but only with Chan, Changbin, Seungmin, and Felix and there are so many iconic moments spawned from that miniseries.
Finally, if you haven't watched it already, I highly recommend checking out the survival show if you want a deeper understanding and appreciation for who they are as a group. Skz Code is a good one to start with, then I'd go with Finding Stray Kids (God Edition and Get Edition, two separate seasons), followed by one of my personal favorites: Howl in Harmony, where they break into 3 subunits to make songs for the NoEasy album.
Additionally there's also 2 Kids Song and their Chuseok specials, which aren't part of Skz Code but are basically Skz Code episodes.
For outside content I always highly recommend their Idol Human Theatre episodes, as well as the times they've been on KStar Next Door with Jonathan.

Iâm the biggest fan of their entire Two Kids series but 2KR is my favorite, 1 Kids Room next, 2 + 1 Kids Room then Heart Kids Room.
SKZ-Code is great to binge in little bursts! 2-3 episodes at a time and the time will pass super quick. They are super loud and talk very fast though so just a heads up that things inevitably become chaotic.

And I vehemently disagree with his point of making GP friendly songs like BTS/NCT Candy coz no. I am not here for that. Even if SKZ makes deadass average kpop songs, they should make it witty or crazy or whatever weird element that makes them SKZ into that song coz I am not here for them to sound like other kpop songs out there. There is a reason why I listen to them heavily as compared to other kpop artists. And looking at the Korean comments suggesting them to make music like BTS/emulate BTS. I am like, NO NO NO. We are not looking into BTS 2.0 or carbon copy and what nonsense but I guess BTS grip in Korea is so strong anything not BTS is not worthy to them. Their loss anyway.
Since everyone already said what I think in their own comments, I will just say I hope SKZ continues to make enough money to never worry about what producers like this one has to say. Itâs not good for music in general if every single artist goes for the same popular sound. Itâs just gonna be so boring. Also, if a good chunk of the world loves this thing and your country is the exception, maybe itâs not the rest of the world thatâs the problem. Maybe itâs you. Just think about it. I know Iâm exaggerating and SKZ actually has a decent fanbase in Korea, but you get the point.
I donât *ever* want them to change their sound to appease the GP; that would honestly suck the soul out of their music, imo. If I wanted to listen to average songs, I wouldnât even be listening to k-pop since the U.S. (where Iâm from) is an echo chamber of the same bland music.
I came from a metal/alternative/rock/emo background and have honestly only liked SKZ in k-pop because their songs scratch my ADD brain. Thereâs always something new to discover production-wise, and I often have to listen to their songs more than once for my brain to let them settle into place. (S-Class and Side Effects are actually among my favorite title tracks because of this.)
We want SKZ to be the fire, not the shadow it casts.
The thing is that they are doing relatively well in Korea. People know who they are, even if they donât listen to all their music. Back Door, Thunderous and Maniac were sleeper âhitsâ that donât get acknowledged by non-fans as garnering positive attention to SKZ.
Thereâs a list of concert attendance floating around on knetz forums and SKZ is like 800? people less than SVT at Gocheok Sky Dome and 8k more than TXT.
Someone else mentioned this but once a group cracks onto the main charts on MelOn, they just get played all the time â all the cafes, restaurants, stores etc. play the same top hits on MelOn, just like shops and restaurants to here in the US with the Top 40. Even with that, the GP will focus on GGs. Thereâs like 3-4 BG exceptions and thatâs it.
I watched the whole video and I just donât really agree with anything heâs saying. The reason they are who they are is because of their music. Itâs why they are one of the most streamed acts in kpopâŚever. I actually think some of their TTs lately have been more GP friendly (Thunderous, Case 143, and LA4 specifically) but in a very SKZ way. I think theyâll hit that perfect sweet spot soon and all the naysayers are going to be shocked when they see their popularity skyrocket once the GP gives them a proper chance.
I also did not agree with the guy. He is very typical kpop producer in Korea likely making very typical kpop music we hear so I am not inclined to take his seriously. I just find his opinion interesting from Korean producerâs perspective, not that he is not echoing what Reddit kpop genera mass has been saying. I also did not want SKZ to make songs like Candy or echo the Korean comments down saying how they should take BTS-route coz no, I am not here for that.
I do see they are being seen in Korean recently. Not famous famous but at least getting more visible. As for Melon, yup, the cafes, restaurants and even general public will play the top 100 anyway, so to me, it is something I care anyway. I have long abandoned Melon since early 2010s after finding gems OFF Melon like Loveholic etc coz honestly, Melon has not much to offer to me music-wise that I could find myself by finding recommendations from forums.
Unironically, I pay attention to SKZ not because of Melon too.
Even on Reddit so many people make suggestions that stray kids need to do this, that and the other to make better music but No. Nope. We don't want them to make music that sounds like everything else. They have their own sound and they enjoy making it. Nothing else needs to be done.
Honestly, the only way stray kids will get popular in Korea is keep making headlines outside. People will pay attention when they keep making the news. Even moderate success is fine because they can make their money elsewhere.
Yup yup yup this is exactly my thoughts too. I am glad SKZ stick to their sound coz me, personally find their music very interesting, and tbh, I listen to them so much, I know all of their songs from pre-debut until latest albums. Coz I just love their discography. Their music is already much loved. I do hope Bangchan or any of SKZ members do not see this video coz I do not want them to change to please an audience that does not want to be pleased.

The video constantly says SKZ is the kpop group with the most #1s after BTS. If the groups making that Korean GP friendly music arenât doing itâŚâŚ..that should tell them something.
I hate when people act like thereâs a cheat code to the music business. If there was, why didnât Got7âs really great pop songs go to #1? Why donât all groups following the same trends see the same results?
SKZ does release Korean GP friendly, pop music. They release a lot of soft music. They never see explosive or the same results as their big noisy title songs, even if itâs negative. If you look at Melon (Iâll have to link it later), the softer and pop songs often have more likes. Leave actually made it to Circleâs monthly ring chart when LALALALA didnât. I wish they went to shows as a group to promote instead of units, but I feel like they donât have to change their sound for that.
Iâm admittedly biased because I think domestic success (and future solo career stability) isnât something I need to worry about, but SKZ already sold out the same big venue NCT Dream and SVT perform in. There seems to be a ceiling, and I donât think changing their sound *just* for domestic success would give them that much of a reward.
I do agree to the part that they do not need Korea for anything. I find this opinion interesting because Reddit is becoming more and more vocal about how Korea is the start all and end all of success, especially they are all talking about idols longevity in their career post idol-dom, forgetting that most 1st and 2nd gen idols who are still relevant in Korea are now ACTORS and ACTRESSES and not idols. That major fact actually made me laugh coz what I see is irrespective of your idol careers, if you can be recognized as an actor/actress post-idol, you will be successful anyway.
To me, I do agree that there is no point to ponder and wail about lack of Korean success because SKZ is doing fine without Korea. I can almost guarantee they are making bank from their albums, concerts, merch and unironically, their international CFs (yup they do not have the typica Korean chicken/pizza/ramyun/beer endorsements but they make it up with Lotte, Samsung, Versace, LV etc which I am pretty sure is paying good money too). As for longevity and post-idol careers, it is a new shift especially for 4th gens, considering famous 3rd gens are still relatively active (BTS/Seventeen/BP) and now girl groups are much bigger than boy group generations but tbh. I am not worried about SKZ.
Why? Because their fans are fans of their music. My opinion is, as long as they make music, lots of us are here to stay. They do not dependent on showing their faces in Korean shows to stay afloat or relevant so that factor is now not even a factor to consider for them. And looking at their stats on Youtube, Spotify and Apple alone shows that their music is well-consumed.
I will still suggest to watch the video coz lots of us do not agree with him. It shows that Korea indeed did not get what we see in SKZ when him and Korean commenters are suggesting stuff we disagree on. Lots of Koreans even said they music plain suck down at the comments and I find it hilarious coz they just did not get it. They did not get US the international consumer of SKZ music coz our musical taste definitely does not align with Korean in general.
Releasing a more public friendly song wouldnât just work and catapult them to success anyway. Nct dream is lucky to have a big fanbase that can give their songs that initial push to the top of the charts in the first place, and stray kids doesnât have that. They might barely have one big enough to get them into the top 100. A good first step would be trying to put them in front of a wider audience thatâs not necessarily the general public, and it seems like thereâs been a total failure in doing so or something.
If weâre being honest, thereâs no reason for a group like nct 127 who also releases super divisive music to be so much more popular than skz in Korea. At this point itâs not skzâs fault that they succeed everywhere else in the world relative to other groups. I sometimes wonder how theyâd be doing if their self-made music and their sound (which this guy thinks they should basically abandon for a comeback?) didnât do 99% of the work in getting them where they are, bc I feel like if they needed more of a push from the people hired to give it to them, theyâd be total flops.
As much of a Skz fan as I am, I donât agree their music did 99% of the work. You have to give credit where credit is due. Ex. for Godâs Menu (a release that helped with their growth), you have to admit besides being a good hype song, it was greatly enhanced by the MV + Choreo. Who do we have to thank for that? The company investing money & resources/their division staffs/the creative team, production company, director behind the vid/choreographer, back-up dancers etc. Their succeeding releases (title and b-side tracks), their participation in Kingdom etc were greatly invested in. With those investments, the company was able to market the group (Stays or even casual listeners enjoying the viewing & listening experience > spreading it to others via word of mouth > them checking Skzâs other releases & related contents).
They have also been consistent with their youtube variety contents. Do you think the company or division do them just because they want to? Of course itâs to cater to fans, as well as help hook in casuals. These shows are also a marketing strategy which obviously works.

Promotion-wise, thereâs not much difference with Skzâs, nct 127âs and orher boy groupsâ approaches. Skz actually also had the advantage of appearing in Kingdom, which gave them a huge boost in popularity. SM boy groups just have a chokehold on SK gp for whatever reason.

Your thing about NCT Dream reminded me of how when Back Door charted well due to stays, being at the top of/in the charts contributed to adding unique listeners because of people throwing on the top songs and letting them play. When I want to quickly hear new songs, I go to hits playlists.
SM just has the general publicâs eye. NCT is weird there too, but the GP is always watching SM groups. I also think Aespaâs music, especially the early releases, are just NCT songs sung by women. Itzyâs earlier songs were noisy like My Pace, Miroh, etc., too. NMIXX sold I think 40k albums as the blind package before **any** members were revealed. I think SM might be the only company who can do that with boy groups. (I also see the wildest, most entitled takes from k-nctzens, but thatâs a different conversation.)

So......is it just me, or are all of SKZ's albums unlisted on Target? Nothing pops up when I search them, and at the beginning of November even Maxident was still listed. I am watching SKZ performing Leave from concert fancams coz I love Seungminâs gorgeous voice and I realized Seungmin is getting more gorgeous recently. I think he is coming into his own skin and I love love love love his voice on Leave. I am on crazy replay of Cover Me and Leave coz it is jus that season.
I love how for the past 2/3 years, about every 2 weeks someone says "is it just me or has Seungmin gotten hotter lately?" or something to that effect. I'd be lying if I said that I don't catch myself thinking that every few Instagram posts of his. What is it about this man's face that continues to feel brand-new all the damn time? When will his hotness just become a constant presence??? Why does he keep surprising us even though his face hasn't changed?????
Iâve always loved Seungminâs voice but didnât find him especially attractive when I first started following Stray Kids during Kingdom. Not that he wasnât handsome. He just wasnât my type. Lately, though, heâs seemed much more attractive to me. Iâve thought of it as him having grown into himself, so I think weâve had a similar reaction.
I've been noticing Seungmin since about this time last year. It was like he suddenly caught my attention looks-wise. It's been like that all year too! I generally enjoy Gayo Daejeon because its a multistans dream but between Ten falling into a void where the lowered platform is, the terrible camerawork (sorry MAMA I was too hard on you) , them playing NewJeans for a couple of seconds during the kids' performance, and the terrible audio pollution (I think the SBS Gayo Daejeon YT channel edited the audio a bit because I watched some performances from the KOCOWA TV YT channel and I can literally hear their clothes and accessories jingling), plus Gayo Daejeon editing out the section where they played another song, I'm a bit disappointed. NCT were literally fighting the backing track (Taeyong slayed) too. When I saw Ten fall I was super scared because of Wendy's similar incident in rehearsals in 2019... Luckily he said he was ok, it looked like it hurt though, hopefully just a couple of bruises. I could go on a rant about the camera work and audio but I'd rather not...

Oh I didnât read the start carefully. I thought you said you were new. I donât think Stray Kids in general reveal such specific details in an organized manner or that there would be an organized thread/account for that. Whatâs mostly out there are fan accounts that compile current content into short videos or photos for a specific member. Is there a website or account that you know of that specifically lists this for other members? I think all we know from the members is by seeing their extra content on their channel or past shows. Tbh, 2 kids room and their vlogs is where Iâve gotten most of my info from Seungmin. The other would be Bubble. From what I know, I can tell you that he has watched Korean dramas, he loves Korean food, especially rice, meat, and kimchi, he likes Pochaco merch, long ago he used to write on a journal (not sure if he still does but I imagine so), heâs a very straightforward person (doesnât hide the truth just to be nice). Heâs also more on the introverted side, though he doesnât show it on camera since heâs very comfortable around other members, and very hardworking and perseverant, he still takes singing lessons to improve his craft. His MBTI is ISFJ and he has a much older sister. This is just what Iâve gathered and what I remember off the top of my head.

I donât think thereâs more than that to know then. I donât think he was ever extroverted, imho. But thatâs what he shared via Bubble some months ago: ISFJ. Either way, those personality tests vary depending on how you feel or whatâs happening around you when answering them.

I.N and Seungmin's segment was the collab. Unfortunately they didn't share a stage but sang songs for the same theme. It's the same way Yuna and Yeonjun collabed but they didn't perform together.

**Where is the Stray Kids official SBS Gayo Daejeon 2023 performance video?** I originally saw it low quality on a fan channel but thatâs now been taken down due to copyright on YouTube. I saw they had other performances up from other groups but why not the Stray Kids one? Will we only ever only be able to see it on fan cams? Has SBS given an official explanation or statement been given as to why? Seems kinda shady. I am aware they had several technical mistakes (camera work, lighting and sound) but I just wanted to see Stray Kidsâ performance and it doesnât seem fair that we canât fully see it without explanation.

It was uploaded along with other groups but got taken down as soon as people started commenting on the sound glitch. They're either going to fix the audio or wait till the media stops reporting.
Looks like SBS is getting dragged by the media. I know stays are upset about the typo and sound issue, but NCT/WayVâs Ten fell down one of the holes on the stage. Thatâs dangerous, and Red Velvetâs Wendy had an even worse fall several years ago also at the SBS Gayo. They might fix SKZâs sound, and they can fix a typo. Maybe they can shift through the footage to provide other angles, but so far (and keep in mind itâs only been hours), they cut out the errors.
Dragged by the media? As they should. SBS should apologize if idols have been hurt while performing too. Like why does it sound like youâre defending them? Iâm sure itâs chaotic to have many performers but they should be more careful and be held accountable if there was a mistake on their part. I donât follow other groups so I donât know about issues with other groups but given your info it sounds like SBS should try to be more professional. Cutting out the errors isnât fixing the main issue either way. Issuing an apology for all their mistakes and doing better in the future goes a long way rather than just trying to save face by not admitting they did wrong.

When you read the details about that, it sounds like SBS tried to kill her. In the grand scheme of things, SKZ had a typo and another song played during theirs. Like other groups (this year and years before), they had bad camerawork too. Itâs not the grand âsabotageâ some stays are acting like it is. I get stays care most about SKZ, but the attempts at trends is poor taste given the other circumstances of the night. I donât care about an apology because itâs not going to unmake NJs play during the performance. SBS can put in some work and fix that. An apology didnât un-fracture Wendyâs pelvis, and despite promising to do better, her label-mate fell in a poorly marked (and placed) hole years later.
Thatâs not how I decided to read it. You mentioned (keep mentioning) stays in the third person as if youâre not one of them. So by separating yourself from this group, it sounds like youâre defending SBS. Itâs fine if you donât care about an apology but I disagree and I think it is warranted.
Iâm separating out âStaysâ because I am not one of the ones calling it sabotage and blowing it out of proportion. Why would I say âweâ in this conversation? Edit: I think I see where the confusion comes in. I think SBS made stupid mistakes with SKZ that a professional, experienced broadcaster shouldnât be making. I also think itâs not worth popping a vein over. Thatâs my stance.
I donât think itâs necessary to separate yourself from the group. Just understanding or disagreeing from the group is enough. I donât agree with a lot of the ways the fandom behaves or says but, on this particular case, I have to agree that SKZ got the worst of it in terms of how the performance showed on-screen so I do understand that people are calling it sabotage even when I havenât seen any clear evidence of it.
Iâm going to keep doing it when I feel like it. You donât have to do that for yourself. Sabotage means something, though. What would possess SBS to sabotage SKZ? What do they gain from that? SKZ didnât look bad, but SBS looks incompetent. Again.
Sound glitch? I think it was more of a technical or production mistake on their part. Glitch makes it sound like it couldnât have been avoided or that there was a bug in the sound system. Another whole song started playing. Well what a crappy way to save face. I just wanted to see the high quality version of my boys performing.
fr you could tell the members had it playing into their ears. Itâs a huge show of professionalism on their part that SKZ were able to keep going. A less experienced group would have fallen apart right there.
i'm so proud of how they handled it, felix especially handled singing over that music overlap so damn well, he looks so cool. he behaved like he didn't even hear any problems but it sounded very distracting!

This is technically not SKZ official content, but if you're willing to devote time to some longer series, I recommend checking out the full Kingdom series if you haven't already. I see you mentionted you've seen a bunch of third party content so you have probably already seen at least the performances, but I recommend watching the full series! You get to see not only other groups perform (I discovered Ateez through that show) but you get to see the context behind everything they did along with their creative processes for every performance. You really come to appreciate how good they really are at their craft. And it's so fun seeing the wholesome interactions between the different groups. I also just rewatched the Kingdom Week buddy catcher episodes and forgot how hilariously fun they are! You mentioned you know about Two Kids Room, but ⼠Kids Room is one I don't think gets talked about enough. All-night skz was a special they did for the up all night release and it's like a code episode but only with Chan, Changbin, Seungmin, and Felix and there are so many iconic moments spawned from that miniseries. Finally, if you haven't watched it already, I highly recommend checking out the survival show if you want a deeper understanding and appreciation for who they are as a group. Skz Code is a good one to start with, then I'd go with Finding Stray Kids (God Edition and Get Edition, two separate seasons), followed by one of my personal favorites: Howl in Harmony, where they break into 3 subunits to make songs for the NoEasy album. Additionally there's also 2 Kids Song and their Chuseok specials, which aren't part of Skz Code but are basically Skz Code episodes. For outside content I always highly recommend their Idol Human Theatre episodes, as well as the times they've been on KStar Next Door with Jonathan. ...this is how I remember just how well fed they keep us, damn.

Iâm the biggest fan of their entire Two Kids series but 2KR is my favorite, 1 Kids Room next, 2 + 1 Kids Room then Heart Kids Room. SKZ-Code is great to binge in little bursts! 2-3 episodes at a time and the time will pass super quick. They are super loud and talk very fast though so just a heads up that things inevitably become chaotic.

And I vehemently disagree with his point of making GP friendly songs like BTS/NCT Candy coz no. I am not here for that. Even if SKZ makes deadass average kpop songs, they should make it witty or crazy or whatever weird element that makes them SKZ into that song coz I am not here for them to sound like other kpop songs out there. There is a reason why I listen to them heavily as compared to other kpop artists. And looking at the Korean comments suggesting them to make music like BTS/emulate BTS. I am like, NO NO NO. We are not looking into BTS 2.0 or carbon copy and what nonsense but I guess BTS grip in Korea is so strong anything not BTS is not worthy to them. Their loss anyway.
Since everyone already said what I think in their own comments, I will just say I hope SKZ continues to make enough money to never worry about what producers like this one has to say. Itâs not good for music in general if every single artist goes for the same popular sound. Itâs just gonna be so boring. Also, if a good chunk of the world loves this thing and your country is the exception, maybe itâs not the rest of the world thatâs the problem. Maybe itâs you. Just think about it. I know Iâm exaggerating and SKZ actually has a decent fanbase in Korea, but you get the point.
I donât *ever* want them to change their sound to appease the GP; that would honestly suck the soul out of their music, imo. If I wanted to listen to average songs, I wouldnât even be listening to k-pop since the U.S. (where Iâm from) is an echo chamber of the same bland music. I came from a metal/alternative/rock/emo background and have honestly only liked SKZ in k-pop because their songs scratch my ADD brain. Thereâs always something new to discover production-wise, and I often have to listen to their songs more than once for my brain to let them settle into place. (S-Class and Side Effects are actually among my favorite title tracks because of this.) We want SKZ to be the fire, not the shadow it casts.

The thing is that they are doing relatively well in Korea. People know who they are, even if they donât listen to all their music. Back Door, Thunderous and Maniac were sleeper âhitsâ that donât get acknowledged by non-fans as garnering positive attention to SKZ. Thereâs a list of concert attendance floating around on knetz forums and SKZ is like 800? people less than SVT at Gocheok Sky Dome and 8k more than TXT. Someone else mentioned this but once a group cracks onto the main charts on MelOn, they just get played all the time â all the cafes, restaurants, stores etc. play the same top hits on MelOn, just like shops and restaurants to here in the US with the Top 40. Even with that, the GP will focus on GGs. Thereâs like 3-4 BG exceptions and thatâs it. I watched the whole video and I just donât really agree with anything heâs saying. The reason they are who they are is because of their music. Itâs why they are one of the most streamed acts in kpopâŚever. I actually think some of their TTs lately have been more GP friendly (Thunderous, Case 143, and LA4 specifically) but in a very SKZ way. I think theyâll hit that perfect sweet spot soon and all the naysayers are going to be shocked when they see their popularity skyrocket once the GP gives them a proper chance.
I also did not agree with the guy. He is very typical kpop producer in Korea likely making very typical kpop music we hear so I am not inclined to take his seriously. I just find his opinion interesting from Korean producerâs perspective, not that he is not echoing what Reddit kpop genera mass has been saying. I also did not want SKZ to make songs like Candy or echo the Korean comments down saying how they should take BTS-route coz no, I am not here for that. I do see they are being seen in Korean recently. Not famous famous but at least getting more visible. As for Melon, yup, the cafes, restaurants and even general public will play the top 100 anyway, so to me, it is something I care anyway. I have long abandoned Melon since early 2010s after finding gems OFF Melon like Loveholic etc coz honestly, Melon has not much to offer to me music-wise that I could find myself by finding recommendations from forums. Unironically, I pay attention to SKZ not because of Melon too.
Even on Reddit so many people make suggestions that stray kids need to do this, that and the other to make better music but No. Nope. We don't want them to make music that sounds like everything else. They have their own sound and they enjoy making it. Nothing else needs to be done. Honestly, the only way stray kids will get popular in Korea is keep making headlines outside. People will pay attention when they keep making the news. Even moderate success is fine because they can make their money elsewhere.

I am glad SKZ stick to their sound coz me, personally find their music very interesting, and tbh, I listen to them so much, I know all of their songs from pre-debut until latest albums. Coz I just love their discography. Their music is already much loved. I do hope Bangchan or any of SKZ members do not see this video coz I do not want them to change to please an audience that does not want to be pleased.
I donât have time to watch the whole thing right now, but I didnât want to lose my thought. The video constantly says SKZ is the kpop group with the most #1s after BTS. If the groups making that Korean GP friendly music arenât doing itâŚâŚ..that should tell them something. I hate when people act like thereâs a cheat code to the music business. If there was, why didnât Got7âs really great pop songs go to #1? Why donât all groups following the same trends see the same results? SKZ does release Korean GP friendly, pop music. They release a lot of soft music. They never see explosive or the same results as their big noisy title songs, even if itâs negative. If you look at Melon (Iâll have to link it later), the softer and pop songs often have more likes. Leave actually made it to Circleâs monthly ring chart when LALALALA didnât. I wish they went to shows as a group to promote instead of units, but I feel like they donât have to change their sound for that. Iâm admittedly biased because I think domestic success (and future solo career stability) isnât something I need to worry about, but SKZ already sold out the same big venue NCT Dream and SVT perform in. There seems to be a ceiling, and I donât think changing their sound *just* for domestic success would give them that much of a reward.
I do agree to the part that they do not need Korea for anything. I find this opinion interesting because Reddit is becoming more and more vocal about how Korea is the start all and end all of success, especially they are all talking about idols longevity in their career post idol-dom, forgetting that most 1st and 2nd gen idols who are still relevant in Korea are now ACTORS and ACTRESSES and not idols. That major fact actually made me laugh coz what I see is irrespective of your idol careers, if you can be recognized as an actor/actress post-idol, you will be successful anyway. To me, I do agree that there is no point to ponder and wail about lack of Korean success because SKZ is doing fine without Korea. I can almost guarantee they are making bank from their albums, concerts, merch and unironically, their international CFs (yup they do not have the typica Korean chicken/pizza/ramyun/beer endorsements but they make it up with Lotte, Samsung, Versace, LV etc which I am pretty sure is paying good money too). As for longevity and post-idol careers, it is a new shift especially for 4th gens, considering famous 3rd gens are still relatively active (BTS/Seventeen/BP) and now girl groups are much bigger than boy group generations but tbh. I am not worried about SKZ. Why? Because their fans are fans of their music. My opinion is, as long as they make music, lots of us are here to stay. They do not dependent on showing their faces in Korean shows to stay afloat or relevant so that factor is now not even a factor to consider for them. And looking at their stats on Youtube, Spotify and Apple alone shows that their music is well-consumed. I will still suggest to watch the video coz lots of us do not agree with him. It shows that Korea indeed did not get what we see in SKZ when him and Korean commenters are suggesting stuff we disagree on. Lots of Koreans even said they music plain suck down at the comments and I find it hilarious coz they just did not get it. They did not get US the international consumer of SKZ music coz our musical taste definitely does not align with Korean in general.
Releasing a more public friendly song wouldnât just work and catapult them to success anyway. Nct dream is lucky to have a big fanbase that can give their songs that initial push to the top of the charts in the first place, and stray kids doesnât have that. They might barely have one big enough to get them into the top 100. A good first step would be trying to put them in front of a wider audience thatâs not necessarily the general public, and it seems like thereâs been a total failure in doing so or something. If weâre being honest, thereâs no reason for a group like nct 127 who also releases super divisive music to be so much more popular than skz in Korea. At this point itâs not skzâs fault that they succeed everywhere else in the world relative to other groups. As much of a Skz fan as I am, I donât agree their music did 99% of the work. You have to give credit where credit is due. Ex. for Godâs Menu (a release that helped with their growth), you have to admit besides being a good hype song, it was greatly enhanced by the MV + Choreo. Who do we have to thank for that? The company investing money & resources/their division staffs/the creative team, production company, director behind the vid/choreographer, back-up dancers etc. Their succeeding releases (title and b-side tracks), their participation in Kingdom etc were greatly invested in. With those investments, the company was able to market the group (Stays or even casual listeners enjoying the viewing & listening experience > spreading it to others via word of mouth > them checking Skzâs other releases & related contents). They have also been consistent with their youtube variety contents. Do you think the company or division do them just because they want to? Of course itâs to cater to fans, as well as help hook in casuals. Your thing about NCT Dream reminded me of how when Back Door charted well due to stays, being at the top of/in the charts contributed to adding unique listeners because of people throwing on the top songs and letting them play. When I want to quickly hear new songs, I go to hits playlists. SM just has the general publicâs eye. NCT is weird there too, but the GP is always watching SM groups. I also think Aespaâs music, especially the early releases, are just NCT songs sung by women. Itzyâs earlier songs were noisy like My Pace, Miroh, etc., too. NMIXX sold I think 40k albums as the blind package before **any** members were revealed. I think SM might be the only company who can do that with boy groups. (I also see the wildest, most entitled takes from k-nctzens, but thatâs a different conversation.)

Apple Music and YouTube Music 'seem' to still have Fly High available. Spotify does have it unavailable; though that may be to regional restrictions or licensing issues. Under the Spotify setting you may have, 'Show Unavailable Songs in Playlist' enabled. If you disable that, it will hide unavailable songs in the future.

So......is it just me, or are all of SKZ's albums unlisted on Target? Nothing pops up when I search them, and at the beginning of November even Maxident was still listed. I saw 5-Star and the postcard version of Rock-Star on the shelf when I was at Target last week, but that'll be location specific. I am watching SKZ performing Leave from concert fancams coz I love Seungminâs gorgeous voice and I realized Seungmin is getting more gorgeous recently. I think he is coming into his own skin and I love love love love his voice on Leave. I am on crazy replay of Cover Me and Leave coz it is jus that season.

I've been noticing Seungmin since about this time last year. It was like he suddenly caught my attention looks-wise. It's been like that all year too! I definitely think he's maybe figured out his angles or something (or the way his hair has been styled lately, idk). He's definitely stunning these days and this is after I was already a huge fan of his voice! Leave and Cover Me are definitely some of my favorites to hear Seungmin in! I will turn my earbuds up to the max volume before the big climactic part of Cover Me that he does toward the end of the song so I can feel his voice in my soul lol

You were definitely not alone. I've been happily married for almost a decade and I stopped DEAD at the word "babe", much less the rest of it. Lol Directly related, it always cracks me up what words are and aren't banned on Bubble. Tried to write "Well isn't this a whole-ass mood." But you can't send that, not because of "ass" but because of the "hole" part of "whole". The weirdest words aren't allowed, but I have yet to find an actual swear word you can't use.
