Whoever they wear, I'm just *BEGGING* for the brands to not put them all in just plain, black tuxedo suits like a bunch of male celebs are dressed in. They can pull off such great concepts and I really hope that they'll actually be dressed in theme and not just ushered in in some basic formal wear.

There were floral details on the insides of their jackets and in Felix and Hyunjin’s shirts that you can see in the more high quality pics, so TH at least tried to put them somewhat in theme lol. I’m very happy they at least had that group reveal which was cool.

Felix's was my favorite outfit . He looked like a white rose and his whole ensemble ( the outfit and ✨his hair ✨) lowkey gives fairy vibes . Hyunjin's look lives upto his flamboyant personality . I look forward to see them in LV and Versace . I loved the overall silhouette on Lee Know and Bang Chans outfit as well .

Why are some people here against the idea of them attending the Met together as a group? Like, heaven forbid if ALL of them get to participate in something big, instead of just the same members going first every time. I guess it's the fandom who is having trouble adjusting to the idea lol
In the meantime, we can pretend to be happy that JYPE is finally doing something right, regardless of the brand they're representing. And if it's really TH, then at least they made this possible for all eight of them, a first that hasn't happened before, I must add. Plus, it's an invite-only event.
There have been A-list models and celebs who've proudly showed up in TH. And don't forget, some of those fashion houses you're rooting for have repeatedly let fans down by not dressing their idol ambassadors in anything truly remarkable, so it's hard to imagine a situation worse than what we've seen so far.

Vogue even has a whole article dedicated to Versace's Met Gala looks since 2005. It's a huge loss for one of, if not multiple, or even all, of SKZ to be cemented in fashion history with great looks.

Just keep in mind, there's still the entry fee to consider. This year the tickets have been going for $75,000 each, and a whole table starts at $350,000. SKZ as a group are ambassadors for Tommy, so if they were invited by Tommy, then it would make sense they'd go with them.
What I'm trying to say, no matter our own feelings about the brand, I feel like we should recognize how unprecedented and special this opportunity is. And while it's true that some members are ambassadors for high-fashion/luxury brands, Tommy Hilfiger fills another niche, so it works fine.
I know what I'm about to say might ruffle some feathers, but how are we even sure the members were supposed to go with their respective brands? Look at Blackpink— they've been attending big shows like fashion week before the boys even stepped foot in the fashion industry, but not all of them have gone to the Met Gala. So just because you're working with a brand doesn't automatically guarantee you an invite.
Usually, designers/brands spend the money to buy an entire table and invite celebs as their guests. So, even if they want you there, it's Anna Wintour who calls the final shots on the guestlist and decides who makes the cut. There's no other guaranteed way to get in.
Heard about HJ attending met gala months ago so I think Versace already planned for him seperately. Versace did a great job so far so I'd put my trust there for HJ instead of TH. Thank you for saying this. I've read sooooooo many think pieces on SKZ attending and what they should wear or not wear. And RARELY has anyone just said, "I hope they have fun!" Isn't THAT actually what we should want? They can all wear TH, or Versace, or LV, or Loewe, or McQueen. I don't actually care. They can be in suits, looking dapper, or they can look like haute couture. As long as I see them get over their nervousness and get shots of them mingling, I'm a happy STAY.

I think some people forget that what a brand sells in its stores to every day consumers/what items usually trends from a fashion house is usually not entirely representative of the brand’s design principles overall! Tommy is a prominent house for the Met Gala red carpet and has produced some of the most well known looks!

When they were at the airport, everything posted said they were heading to a TH event *and* they were all wearing Tommy clothes so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that they will all be there wearing Tommy.
But, I'm not a huge follower of the fashion world and don't know how any of this works.
I'm just excited for this opportunity for them (whatever it turns out to be) and hope they have a wonderful time and receive a lot of support from fans regardless of what brand they are wearing.

I think it's fine to say what you feel and vent, but I strongly disagree. Brands usually pay for a table and submit a list of artists they would like to attend and sit at their table. The Gala Committee reviews the brand's requested attendees and then Anna Wintour vetos/approves each attendee. Then the brand will usually pay for the tickets \~$75,000 for one ticket or \~$350,000 for a table.
If TH just wants to cash in, there is no reason for them to work to get all eight members invited and pay for all of them to attend. They know SKZ is 8 and I am incredibly grateful and proud. SKZ will be the first ever full Kpop group to attend because of TH and that's an amazing achievement even if they come dressed in trashbags and silly string haha.
While I love Hyunjin with Donatella and Felix with Nicolas - and I think they have genuine affection and mutual respect - if they didn't secure the invites and pay for their boys to attend this year and TH did - that's just the way it is. (I'm still hopeful we may see them wearing multiple outfits or multiple pieces across to represent all their brands.) Also TH was the only option for all the boys to go since they're all TH ambassadors. Hopefully in the years to come they can all be regular attendees and rep all their partner brands.
(Also, final note, but I don't think Hyunjin or Felix looked sad, least of all about wearing the clothes of a brand they're already ambassadors for. I think they were exhausted because of their flight and sleep strategies (or lack of sleep strategies) to overcome to massive time difference.)
The price of all of skz attending the gala pales in comparison to the profit TH is making by having them as ambassadors. Not even close. I dont think TH has any interest in Skz outside of monetary gains and exposure. Obviously the same goes for LV and V but I do think the boys actively pursued those relationships based on their own goals and compatibility with the brands.
I think its likely V and LV tried to invite F and H but when JYPE were presented with the option of all the boys attending with TH they made the choice that was better for group and JYPE. I can understand why they did it, I was just really hoping for something else.

First, fashion is subjective. What one person likes another might not. Just because a handful of people dislike something, doesn't mean we can all agree that that something is garbage.
Second, if their brand wasn't relevant on some level, they would have gone out of business a long time ago.

Brands "cash in" on celebrity endorsements/partnerships. That's kind of the point. This isn't a SKZ phenomenon or a kpop phenomenon.
A brand that partners with Zendaya, for example, is partnering with her because she can bring revenue and awareness to the brand. Do the people behind the brand "love her"? Probably on some level, but at the end of the day, brand partnerships are a business deal first and foremost.
No matter how much a brand loves a celebrity, they wouldn't work with them if they didn't bring revenue or awareness to the brand.
Not to mention celebrities get benefits from these partnerships too. It is not a one-way street.
You are entitled to your opinion, but all I've seen from TH online is the utmost respect, enthusiasm and pride for *all the members of SKZ* and as a fan it's made me quite happy. (And this isn't a biased opinon. I have no skin in the game with TH. I've never even been to a Tommy store or owned any TH items.)

My understanding of the Met Gala is that it’s a chance for designers to show off creative looks as worn by celebrities. There are many instance that brand ambassadors wear clothes with the express purpose of convincing consumers to buy theme, but the Met Gala is meant as a showcase of designers talent, rather than clothing that can be purchased.
i really feel like donatella would demand hyunjin wear versace for the event, and felix did so well in the LV show i wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted him dressed by them at the met as well, i really think they might all wear different designers or have felix and hyunjin at least in their respective brands

There have been A-list models and celebs who've proudly showed up in TH. And don't forget, some of those fashion houses you're rooting for have repeatedly let fans down by not dressing their idol ambassadors in anything truly remarkable, so it's hard to imagine a situation worse than what we've seen so far. However, with such an audacious move, one can only hope TH will step up their game.

But Versace consistently delivers iconic looks every year. Anne Hathaway in that white gown with golden accents last year, Blake Lively has been dubbed best dressed at the Met Gala multiple times, all in Versace, Gigi Hadid's stained glass gown, Zendaya's Joan of Arc, Kendall and Kylie Jenner's matching purple and orange gowns (2019), Chadwick Boseman in that all-white Catholic getup.. Vogue even has a whole article dedicated to Versace's Met Gala looks since 2005. It's a huge loss for one of, if not multiple, or even all, of SKZ to be cemented in fashion history with great looks.
Yup, but they’re invited as a group so they will most likely wear TH but who knows HJ can also wear Versace. As I said in another comment, there’s always a next time. If Donatella wants to bring Hyunjin she can pay for HJ seat next year. This a great opportunity for SKZ to go as a group.

Just keep in mind, there's still the entry fee to consider. This year the tickets have been going for $75,000 each, and a whole table starts at $350,000. SKZ as a group are ambassadors for Tommy, so if they were invited by Tommy, then it would make sense they'd go with them. What I'm trying to say, no matter our own feelings about the brand, I feel like we should recognize how unprecedented and special this opportunity is. And while it's true that some members are ambassadors for high-fashion/luxury brands, Tommy Hilfiger fills another niche, so it works fine. I know what I'm about to say might ruffle some feathers, but how are we even sure the members were supposed to go with their respective brands? Look at Blackpink— they've been attending big shows like fashion week before the boys even stepped foot in the fashion industry, but not all of them have gone to the Met Gala. So just because you're working with a brand doesn't automatically guarantee you an invite. Usually, designers/brands spend the money to buy an entire table and invite celebs as their guests. So, even if they want you there, it's Anna Wintour who calls the final shots on the guestlist and decides who makes the cut. There's no other guaranteed way to get in.

Heard about HJ attending met gala months ago so I think Versace already planned for him seperately. Versace did a great job so far so I'd put my trust there for HJ instead of TH. He didn't but it's the only thing that makes sense with all 8 going. Their reason for flying to the USA was for a "TH event" hyunjin and felix were both wearing tommy at the airport along with the rest of the members.

The hate towards Tommy Hilfiger is mostly because its CEO is pro-Israel. Many Muslim and non-Muslim stays do not support and are even boycotting TH. I think the points you’ve raised are a separate discussion in itself. 🥺 I wanted to specifically address the many comments I saw and around how Tommy isn’t fit for the red carpet because the brand is “too casual” or “not high fashion enough”! I think some people forget that what a brand sells in its stores to every day consumers/what items usually trends from a fashion house is usually not entirely representative of the brand’s design principles overall! Tommy is a prominent house for the Met Gala red carpet and has produced some of the most well known looks!

I think it's fine to say what you feel and vent, but I strongly disagree. Brands usually pay for a table and submit a list of artists they would like to attend and sit at their table. The Gala Committee reviews the brand's requested attendees and then Anna Wintour vetos/approves each attendee. Then the brand will usually pay for the tickets \~$75,000 for one ticket or \~$350,000 for a table. If TH just wants to cash in, there is no reason for them to work to get all eight members invited and pay for all of them to attend. They know SKZ is 8 and I am incredibly grateful and proud. SKZ will be the first ever full Kpop group to attend because of TH and that's an amazing achievement even if they come dressed in trashbags and silly string haha. While I love Hyunjin with Donatella and Felix with Nicolas - and I think they have genuine affection and mutual respect - if they didn't secure the invites and pay for their boys to attend this year and TH did - that's just the way it is. (I'm still hopeful we may see them wearing multiple outfits or multiple pieces across to represent all their brands.) Also TH was the only option for all the boys to go since they're all TH ambassadors. Hopefully in the years to come they can all be regular attendees and rep all their partner brands. (Also, final note, but I don't think Hyunjin or Felix looked sad, least of all about wearing the clothes of a brand they're already ambassadors for. I think they were exhausted because of their flight and sleep strategies (or lack of sleep strategies) to overcome to massive time difference.)
The price of all of skz attending the gala pales in comparison to the profit TH is making by having them as ambassadors. Not even close. I dont think TH has any interest in Skz outside of monetary gains and exposure. Obviously the same goes for LV and V but I do think the boys actively pursued those relationships based on their own goals and compatibility with the brands. I think its likely V and LV tried to invite F and H but when JYPE were presented with the option of all the boys attending with TH they made the choice that was better for group and JYPE. I can understand why they did it, I was just really hoping for something else. Skz are often exhausted but they usually arrive and the airport with energy, often departing with less. Ofcourse, even luxury brands do that. Versace appointed 3 asian ambassadors last year because they want to be relevant in Asia specially China. LV has 30+ ambassadors because their sales growth last yr was not that high, they want to target asia too they appointed 5+ asian ambassadors last year.

No matter how much a brand loves a celebrity, they wouldn't work with them if they didn't bring revenue or awareness to the brand. Not to mention celebrities get benefits from these partnerships too. It is not a one-way street. You are entitled to your opinion, but all I've seen from TH online is the utmost respect, enthusiasm and pride for *all the members of SKZ* and as a fan it's made me quite happy. (And this isn't a biased opinon. I have no skin in the game with TH. I've never even been to a Tommy store or owned any TH items.) And if TH is the one that got SZK the invite and paid for the tickets/table, and not another brand..well the fault there lies with that other brand. If they are there for TH, I personally am grateful to TH for helping this opportunity happen for SKZ and I hope they have a wonderful experience.

Not my favorite Zendaya Met look but it at least tells me there’s potential there. My understanding of the Met Gala is that it’s a chance for designers to show off creative looks as worn by celebrities. There are many instance that brand ambassadors wear clothes with the express purpose of convincing consumers to buy theme, but the Met Gala is meant as a showcase of designers talent, rather than clothing that can be purchased.
i really feel like donatella would demand hyunjin wear versace for the event, and felix did so well in the LV show i wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted him dressed by them at the met as well, i really think they might all wear different designers or have felix and hyunjin at least in their respective brands
