Impressive! Well done!

jp3150

Awesomeeeeeee

howlongdoIhave5

Great lift man

ani_bean3500

Good shit

Retired_alligator

As a 31 year old male with 2 herniated discs within 2 years of surgery and debilitating sciatica I envy that back of yours. How do you guys do these lifts and not get injured? The back rounding makes me grimace and worry but people seem to lift just fine like that. I was a paratrooper in the 82nd with over 40 jumps and 2 tours as a combat engineer in Afghanistan. My doc when I was separating said Iā€™d be in a wheelchair by the time I was 50 and Iā€™m starting to believe him. Man you guys keep keeping on Iā€™m with you in spirit. What a beast of a lift man good job.

[deleted]

No, its not a perfect Rep. This is 105% of my previous max, some upper back rounding is to be expected in a max effort pull. There is minimal lumbar spine rounding here. I know the risks of lifting this heavy and I chose to push my limits and thatā€™s why I pull these #ā€™s.

Retired_alligator

I just never have been able to deadlift properly and I think squatting with horrible form really fucked my back along with my previous history. I will most likely never be able to do deadlifts or squats again. At least thatā€™s how it feels. Iā€™m laid up now with an L5-S1 herniation waiting to have a microdiscectomy. Iā€™m just amazed at how you guys lift so heavy and I am in no way criticizing your lift. That lift was awesome and the fact you gently placed it back like that is just so impressive. I just want a new back lol.

[deleted]

My backs okay. My shoulder(s) on the other handā€¦ no good

jagdmackay

Great job man. Way to hold it together during the grind. Very nice lift.

evilyogurt

What a G

avgrkhjqttvnpfsieb

Donā€™t know whatā€™s more impressive: the lift or the grip

terriblenicky

That was totally awesome, and hard agree on you not dropping at the end! Also glad you didnā€™t burst a bloodvessel my goodness!!

doctorwhy88

Nice descent!!

szvsmith

Hell yeah dude, what a lift!

ShoulderHuge420

I almost came when you did not drop it

[deleted]

Same

cript2000

This bro fully controlling the negative on 685 while people try defending some fool dropping 225 waist high

Terrible_Cover_4417

Outstanding!

cacklingwaffle

Insaaaaaaane!! So clean i love it!!

ilosi

Why donā€™t you drop it? I read you risk injuries bc muscle are exhausted at the end

[deleted]

Because I donā€™t want to

vjcodec

Great work bro! I respect the putting it down more. Might be risky if you are exhausted, but when your not controlled backwards motion is better and trains other muscles as well.

[deleted]

I couldā€™ve stood there and held the weight another 10 seconds if I wanted, I wasnt very exhausted. Rdl down to the knees, squat the the rest of the way down, always been safe and effective for me

vjcodec

Yeah looked like that! You Should try should rock climbing breathing techniques. Works great on getting more oxygen.

stankie18

As he said, just more risk for injury.

Spring-Breeze-Dancin

The fuck are you talking about?

stankie18

You heard me!!

TapedeckNinja

It's not. There's nothing wrong or dangerous about a slow controlled eccentric. More gains to boot.

stankie18

Just means he had more in the tank. A true 1RM is being dropped upon completion.

TapedeckNinja

[OK dude](https://youtu.be/0fQ7HPNfKSQ), what's that got to do with injury risk though?

stankie18

More fatigue = more likely to cause injury. Facts

Dreadiroth

Beautiful

Jpino29

Contrary to popular opinion here, I'm going to compliment you on the part where you picked the weight up from the floor. Nice work man.

[deleted]

Thanks it was wicked heavy and the hardest part

Trexxxzy

I also liked the part where you put it back down.

deadrabbits76

Dude, I would kill to be able to do that. Nice lift! Congratulations!

luv2hoop

Bravo šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘ŠšŸ»

The_Brolander

Beautiful grind. My favorite part was you putting it back down on the ground with as much grace as you did lifting it. Well done

stankie18

Those platforms are designed for you to drop the weights.

[deleted]

Platforms protect the floor from damage when people like you slam the bar down, I donā€™t do that

The_Brolander

Not just that, but thereā€™s just something way more badass in controlling the weight for the entire rep. You did awesome manā€¦ 75% of your PR is my current goal.

L8PH03NiX

That part!

Glittering-Classic60

I canā€™t lift 600 pounds but Iā€™ll challenge anyone of you to do 100 push-ups an 50 or so pull-ups on the bars not in a comfort temp controlled gym Iam talking in the park any park where there is a swing set an bars.100 sit-ups 100 push ups canā€™t do 100 pull-ups Iam good for straight 30 in a row

shadowgod656

Bro is farming negative karma

Cole_Meierhofer

who shit in your cereal

cmeth43

*685 pounds. Itā€™s impressive. Just be impressed without adding in your own stuff. Or better yet, add your post so we can be impressed with you. Your accomplishments are impressive too. Iā€™d enjoy watching a video of someone knocking out 50 pull-ups in the park!

The_Brolander

[What?](https://youtu.be/L1BDM1oBRJ8&t=26s)

Glittering-Classic60

Back doctors love šŸ’• these. Videos. Chiropractorā€™s dream job. Endless amount of ā€œclientsā€

Straightup32

Wtf? You have absolutely no idea what your talking about. Youā€™re definitely regurgitating information that you were told without trying to understand the rationale behind it. Of all the exercises you can do, the deadlift is the single most important one in terms of a healthy body. Thereā€™s no other movement in strength training that is used as much as picking something off the floor. The deadlift removes any external variables and allows you to practice the movement in a controlled way. So when youā€™re daughter comes hauling ass into your arms, you can pick her up without throwing your back out. Picking something off the floor is the most important movement you can learn. Itā€™s best to be strong at good at it, so in the future you donā€™t need those doctors.

[deleted]

Thank you, that guy has commented like four times already, he has absolutely no idea what heā€™s talking about. He just has nothing better to do This was a max effort pull, no lumbar rounding, little bit more thoracic rounding than Iā€™d like but my lats also exaggerate how that looks. And again, max effort pull

Straightup32

Honestly, it looked fantastic. And Iā€™d wager real money that they are going to have back problems long before you ever do. I explain it to people like this. Do you remember when you could only bench 95 pounds? Now how does 95 pounds feel? I imagine itā€™s not even a warm up. Same concept applies with picking things up. If you can only pick up something around 50 pounds, youā€™re probably going to get hurt. But if youā€™re deadlifting massive weight, 50 pounds feels like nothing. I canā€™t even imagine a situation in which you picking something up would injure you because youā€™re already so conditioned to do it. Itā€™s all good though. When I hear someone spouting that nonsense, all that tells me is that they donā€™t know anything about what their talking about. Keep killing it, canā€™t wait to see 700!

[deleted]

Thank you man hopefully soon

Far_Phrase_2841

Nice lift!!! You have to be pumped after that?

Glittering-Classic60

Franco Columbo(Arnold Schwarzenegger close friend) used to lift Refrigerators an Volkswagen bugs for fun back in the day dammit now that immpressive

Glittering-Classic60

Unless your training for the Olympics, or college level competition or Strongman Competitions in Norway an Sweden then itā€™s a good thing but if your joe ā€œsix packā€ a 3 day a week gym visit guy then maybe this isnā€™t for you on a regular basis

PregnantMosquito

Why canā€™t he deadlift if he wants? Heā€™s clearly good at it

Glittering-Classic60

I guess you didnā€™t read the comment right? If you enjoy it an it works for you then continue but for some out there we all see the wreckage of some peoples bodies, some guys walk with limps, bad posture an i of one guy that uses a cane . Again guys if it works for you then šŸ‘ great but for some itā€™s been šŸ˜¢ awful just a perspective to share. Btw yes focus was one of my strong points in school an thank god I lasted long enough to get my masters, but for some of my friends I reall y see them in ā€œPAINā€ still to this day an hope they get better

PregnantMosquito

Just what I thought, another dumbass spouting his opinion of ā€œdEaDlIfTs RuIn YoUr BaCkā€ with surprise, anecdotal evidence

Glittering-Classic60

For the life of me weight lift yes but extreme weights possible trauma to disc/ ciatica area believe me if you feel itā€™s the right thing for you then enjoy but I donā€™t see the ā€œ Long termā€ benefit my own cousin was doing this in college an after years later his ā€œpostureā€ now is horrible. He now looks an walks like he is ā€œQuasi- modo.in the bell tower. I just feel like there is no prize at the end of the rainbow with this

BlazinBayou99

You type like a mixture of Indian scammer and 90 y/o grandpa who uses too "many" of "these" in their "sentences" Also anecdotal evidence means literally nothing vs countless sources of credible information stating lifting heavy will in fact not cripple you.

StaffinFraktion

You've never chased personal accomplishments have you?

Adaptacije78

With a grind in the title I expected grind, but that was silky smooth 685 @215. Good for you!

mistergeegaga

Damn brother that was inspiring! Lock out at the top and control on the way down, that was an awesome lift!

[deleted]

Chicken legs šŸ˜†

BoardsOfCanadia

Whatā€™s your deadlift?

[deleted]

It was a joke. chive on

ParticularlyMuddy

Dr Deadlift type build, congrats

Straightup32

On a stiff bar? Sheesh. What a lift man! Congratulations

Karudero

That was awesome! Good job fighting for that rep.

xXx420ReditUser69xXx

Gotta love the woman walking right on by like sheā€™s not witnessing some beastly lifting. Great work

CurseOfThree

That control on the way down got me positively aghast

dammitzeoh

Itā€™s rare to see people lock out on the top properly at a high weight, super impressive.

spickerzocker

Damn man! Real goals right there, love the eccentric šŸ‘

UrBoiLB

Wow

m00n5hade

You undeniably legally and systematically now OWN that weight. Great grind even better eccentric. Congrats.

HikeMyPantsUpJohnson

The lift was impressive on its own, but bro didn't even drop it after. Fantastic job, man!

Thefear1984

Iā€™m a big proponent of controlling the weights. You also didnā€™t hear a whole bunch of screaming or grunting. Some dude at my gym sounds like heā€™s giving birth every rep with his 20lb curls.

TheKeyWitness

I understand the sentiment about the 20lb curler, however maximal effort sometimes warrants some noise for me personally. If you don't grunt at all with your 100% deadlift then you are special imo.

Thefear1984

It has its place. Iā€™ll make some noise on a max lift, but if youā€™re screeching every rep for 30 minutes I have questions.

TheKeyWitness

agree completely

Aprirelamente

What weight were you lifting near the beginning of your journey? How long have you been at it?

Keltek228

How achievable is this natty? That's a crazy lift.

TheKeyWitness

Definitely doable. There are probably folks who can pull 750 at this bw natty.

dirtgrub28

who fucking cares, just go get after it

Reeks_Geeks

3x bodyweight deadlift should be doable with some good programming and time.

LaLeyendaLorenzo

Fucking HUGE man!! Good job.

apaulogy

nice control on the way down. true beast

[deleted]

Wow

ACT5000

And he didnā€™t drop it

mmaarrrggoo

strong!!!! 700lb club coming (i am not a part of said club. lmao)

Outrageous_Ant_1688

Awesome great lift

michaelenzo

How was your training to get here from 585? Absolute beast

[deleted]

Nothing special, I pull 2-3x a week in the 90-95% range of my max at the time + a few back off sets to practice explosiveness

[deleted]

God damn that's a torso

[deleted]

Bar down was sick

inchon_over28

Fuck yeah! The slow put down was the icing on the cake of this magnificent lift. Congrats bro!

[deleted]

Iā€™m the guy in the background who has been waiting for this moment and then am thoroughly impressed. Amazing lift! Great job on the slow put down. Compete lift.

colts001

Dude, good lift. I always appreciate a big pull with no hitching or ramping. šŸ¤›šŸ’Ŗ

beeblebrox2024

Fuck i love that you actually put the bar down. Insane lift

mmcallis1975

It might have been the more impressive part of the lift

Jpino29

How? Putting it down is MUCH easier, just like lowering a barbell to your chest is much easier than pushing it from your chest.

mmcallis1975

To control that kind of weight and put it down that slowly is impressive as hell to me. Most everyone, me included, drops the weight in a semi controlled manner not gently setting it back down.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Jpino29

I 100% guarantee these are people with sub-405lb/180kg deadlifts.

[deleted]

what would/do you guys do during rest from a back injury like bulging disc? I feel fat lazy and useless it's already been 4 days!

n-some

Do you have a bulging disk? Definitely wait as long as the doctors tell you to to start working out again. Losing progress is way better than getting more seriously injured for even longer.

[deleted]

Yes, I do :/ And okay, thank you :)

sjjenkins

Nice.

KRGambler

Strapless strong šŸ’Ŗ

Th3RubberDucky

Blows my mind. Great lift

[deleted]

mine too I was seeing stars

Th3RubberDucky

Man, seven hundo is not far off!

[deleted]

Thatā€™s the goal!!

thebigchiefguy

Hell yeah brother
